Though it seems logical to have people stay seated, they are still rather close. Being seated would be better. But, reality then shows if everybody stayed seated until the row ahead of them left, the de-boarding would take much longer. Ever watched how a few people never begin to get thir bag from the overhead, or get other stuff together until time to leave - and make EVERYONE else wait while they deal with things. Drives most people (me) nuts. Also, some of the people in the back would just stand up and leave bypassing those that are following the "rule". Just not going to happen.

Some interesting responses here. * Have I earned CP yet? Technically I have not. But, I have over 100k and SWA has indicated they are going to add 25k. So, they have sort of said I have it, as soon as they can post the points - along with the few days to actually process the CP - which in the past has been rather quick once the points were in the account. * Do I have intimate knowledge of SWA computer systems. Heck no. But, I have been around systems enough to have reasonable clue on process to get things done. Writing a program to make the exact same to change to EVERY account is not too bad. Once you start adding variables, it gets more difficult and complicated. Like the extension of travel funds which was not a blanket change. Applies to any company. Some are more difficult than others. * The gift from SWA? Yes, it is a gift and I am thankful. I would have hit the spend already, but due to the virus, certain spending is not happening. (not blaming SWA at all for that). And I will reach the CP via spending by June - which at that time the extra 25k will not be needed. * There are a handful of other great things SWA has done. Extending CP next year, or extending A-list really do not need to be handled right away. No timing issues. * In the end, I was just asking if anyone knew when this particular issue would take place for those looking to travel in the near future and 100% will reach CP as soon as they post the 25k - or at least a few days later.

As someone suggested, sure I could use points. But why use them when it should be a free CP? After all, those points will run out eventually. And, based on the Southwest email, I have reached CP. Yea, I know it is programming. And doing those extensions of travel funds were a challenge. Adding 25,000 CP points to EVERY customer is way easier to process.

That is a possible solution, but if they do not bother to post the bonus until AFTER our May trip, then what? I know people do what you are suggesting when folks are waiting for the credit card points to post which works fine because they KNOW they will hit a few days after the statement cuts. In this case, we are waiting for Southwest to do what they promised two weeks ago. I realize they have programming issues, but....

I know they announced on May 16th they are giving a boost towards Companion Pass. I have over 100,000 miles/points right now. We are trying to book flights for May and June but can not do the CP since these have not posted. Any idea when these points will be available so we can earn Companion Pass? FROM SOUTHWEST EMAIL OF APRIL 16th "...we are giving all Rapid Rewards Members a "boost" of ...25,000 Companion Pass qualifying points and 25 flight credits toward Companion Pass status."

Points valuation has not gone down. No taxes and fees (other than the $5.60) on points purchases, but they are included in cash purchases. Now they are gone from cash purchases. And of course, any flight you buy today can change in price in an hour.

Nice idea... but keep in mind that the "company" is also in serious trouble. Real serious financial trouble. And by the way, they have been doing lots of contributions.

As last poster mentioned, he could have used the money from the other flight towards a new one. But, more important, the person that TRANSFERRED points to him wasted their money. They could have just booked the flight and saved the cost of transfering points.

Not bashing WN, but.... My wife was short a few segments last year so we turned one trip from 2 segments to 4 and did a 4 flight run in December to get A-List. AND - I opened two cards last year as well. Would have been nice if we were one of those that were targeted. Oh well....

Maybe. Where are you flying to and from? for 95% of SW flights, the above answer is correct. If Intl, a totally different rule.

Best of luck... But with your misleading subject line you are going to need it. To say RR ripped you off is just plain wrong. They did not rip you off at all. You package came up missing - or at least that is what it appears to be. I am really getting tired of people blasting somebody with terms like "ripped off".

I find the OP rather childish and short sighted. If DL or any other airline can meet your needs better, than great. But to throw a tantrum because they did not give you A-list does not make sense. With or without A list, you still get on every flight you book. You still have a fair chance at getting an aisle of window. You always get where you are going. No idea of fare difference, but buying A1-A15 might take care of some issues.

END OF YEAR PROCESSING is more likely the problem. As of mid afteroon on Jan 7th, I still see this on my account, but not my spouse. Beginning January 1, 2020, we will be performing yearend processing for Rapid Rewards® accounts. This function is necessary to update your membership status and reset your tier and Companion Pass earning counters for 2020. During this process, you may be temporarily unable to view current tier or Companion Pass status, or may see incorrect earning counters regarding progress toward tier and Companion Pass. This will affect all channels where you can log into your account, including: Southwest.com® Southwest® mobile app Automated phone system via 1-800-248-4377 You will see a pending alert within your account while this activity is in progress. We anticipate this process to be completed for all Members within the first few weeks of the year. If you have earned A-List, A-List Preferred, or Companion Pass for the 2020 calendar year, your benefits will not be affected when traveling during this period. Any points earned from flight or Rapid Rewards partner activity, including tier qualifying points* and Companion Pass qualifying points**, will continue to accrue but may not be viewable until the yearend processing is completed. We appreciate your patience as we work hard to deliver the best Customer experience possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

When they announced the preboard - sometimes the passenger needs to raise their hand, wheel up front or do something so they know they need to take care of you. They almost always annouce that more than once.

As a veteran with 100% disability, I think the idea of preboarding military is a bit over-expected. We are all people and we all have various issues, or dangerous jobs. The military is not the only one. Should there be some long list? And should there be a form or special ID? I do not expect anything special, until I get to the point where I can not walk down the jetway, then maybe something extra.

Any fare you buy from Southwest means you will get a seat - 99.5% of the time. Okay, I made up the percent, but the only reason you would not get a seat is when they have some flight problems, cancels, etc. You are all set. ANYBODY can buy early checkin.

Another thread that has been hashed and beaten to death. I could waste my time and yours discussing this, but it is not worth it. Much more is WRITTEN about it, than what actually happens onboard - based on my 50+ flights in the past year. The current policy of "no policy" works.

As a veteran, I do understand the sacrifices. I also understand how many other careers have significant sacrifices and dangers. I always wonder if we should have this long list of people that should get special treatment? For example, our local Lowes has military parking spaces. I do not use them.

PLEASE There have been 3,879 different threads about this. The current system WORKS. It is but one of the reasons that Southwest is the #1 domestic carrier and has some 4,000 flights per day. I totally understand some people do not like it. But, it works and all those OTHER people are very happy with it.

First off, sorry your family did not get to sit together. Really, sorry. But, keep in mind that if their entire family had purchased the EB, you would have still been unable to sit together. Sometimes it just happens. In this situation, I may have just sat down. Easier for me to say than actually doing it.
