Here are the Southwest Gift Card Terms and Conditions:
https://www.southwest.com/html/air/products/gift-card-terms-and-conditions.html
Some key points (see what I did there ;)) --
A Southwest gift card can be used for Passenger travel only on Southwest Airlines, excluding Southwest Airlines group tickets.
A Southwest gift card may only be redeemed at southwest.com, on the Southwest Airlines Mobile Apps and Mobile Website (only for initial flight booking), by calling Southwest Airlines at 1-800-435-9792 (1-800 I FLY SWA), or at Southwest Airlines ticket counter locations.
A Southwest gift card is not valid for the purchase of Southwest Airlines Vacation Packages, cargo, hotel, rental car, Southwest Airlines merchandise, Southwest Airlines group tickets, EarlyBird Check-In, oversized and excess baggage fees, upgraded boarding at the airport, Pet Fare, unaccompanied minor service charge, additional Southwest gift cards, or inflight purchases. Sales tax, security fees, and passenger facilities charges may be paid for with a Southwest gift card.
Ironically, bullet #3 does not say anything about purchasing points, however, bullet #1 says that gift cards can only be used for passenger travel, so it would seem that gift cards cannot be used to purchase points.

Has also happened to me and the online system does not allow me to make the change myself. They tell me this has something to do with price differences when I go in to re-book myself. I realize they are shifting flights due to less travel, but every time I call, I can re-book on a flight that is almost identical to what "the computer" replaced with three stops and 12 hours of travel time.

I will admit that I was wrong here. The links they typically provide send you back to the “find funds” page. When I went in to just my account, there was the 1 that I just cancelled. I have about $1500 worth of vouchers that I still need to find.

@johnjam101 , Excellent use of language because I really like that phrase. "Planing my trip" will be now used for the time in which I coordinate, schedule and book any vacation using air travel. Thanks for sharing/creating.

I don't have any personal experience with travel to Cuba, but my understanding is there are still a number of valid reasons Americans can travel to Cuba. I believe the key is having a schedule/agenda that details all the activites you will be doing and as long as they are "approved" you should be ok. I did a quick Google search and found these articles which detail some of the recent changes and what is still allowed. https://www.travelmarketreport.com/articles/Unemployed-Cuba-Tour-Directors-Say-Americans-Can-Still-Travel-to-Cuba https://www.latimes.com/travel/la-tr-travel-spot-cuba-travel-myths-facts-20190623-story.html Hope that helps, --TheMiddleSeat
