Hoping for the best in this incident. I would say in such a large industry as the airlines, there will be somebody who is not honest. Hopefully, this isn't the case in your situation and you get it returned.

I can honestly say this would have been an issue with me as well. Since I'm more outspoken it might have gotten loud on this flight and "air rage" would have been a possibility. I'm assuming that all seats were taken and there was limited opportunity for a seat change. SWA (as far as I know) doesn't have control of what ground crews do in other countries. So they may not have as much of a voice for temperature control for every passenger. It appears the flight attendant was pro-active in doing her duty, but it's the person who defied the rules that are at fault, not the attendant. Maybe a suggestion to SWA that they start to enforce the mask rule a little more by banning those who defy requests. So dyerhome, what resolution are you seeking and what would you have done?

And even though now you have been more informed, you should still take this advice. I've also taken caution and just thinking, what should I do if they didn't clean it at all. I wear rubber gloves, keep my mask on, and yes, even over my nose, have disinfectant wipes and do everything, light switch, call button, window shade, armrests, fold-down tray, seatback in front of me, the seat I'm sitting in, .....you get the picture. More is better, and to overdo it is my motto. I just have seen a video today on a 10-year-old who caught COVID and after weeks of home still having difficulty breathing and has to have home care. I'm not leaving it up to anyone to clean for me...although I'm sure SWA does.

Thanks for your take and reply to this. I was going to ask this person, Please provide the information or data that shows they minimized their cleaning. Even if SWA was selfish and not care much about their customer, (which they do) they would still not jeopardize the health of the flight attendants. That is just a fact.

I'm 100% loyal to SWA, but I do fly other airlines as well when they don't fly to the city I'm going to. Mostly upper midwest, but have flown another airline that right now has 29 flights for me to Texas. Won't say the name, but you might google that and find out. Or you can private message me and I will let you know. Flying to TX has always been high for me when it comes to going to Austin, Houston, or San Antonio.

And even with well thought out flight plans and schedules, they change. I've had 3 this past 3 months that have changed and/or been canceled altogether, including a trip to Cozumel. Not berating you, but NOBODY should think that anything is going to go as planned at this time. I live in a state where for the past month on and off 5 times were able to eat indoors, and then not. Right now not, and only outdoors. That may even change tomorrow. It's just the way it is right now. Yes, we all hope for the best, but deal with the reality of the final result.

Not just SWA, but the other airlines as well. Seems to just be the process at this time.

bec10896 gave me the encouragement to apply. but when I did I realized I have a very limited background in all the things they were asking about. Other than the fact I've been AList and have had a companion pass in at least over 100 flights on SWA. I doubt I get selected but was worth a try.

But it also shows that as a 30-year old I can be asystematic or full-blown sick and have no issues at all or recover nicely, yet I've been the six degrees of infection that eventually kills 10 people over 70. So why not consider that.

As an A-lister, I'm usually in a row by myself first. when somebody asks is that seat taken, meaning the aisle seat, I say, no, unless you not going to keep your mask on, then it is. I let them know immediately I'm not the person to sit by and have a comfortable flight if they can't comply.

In the time it took you to research and write this, you could have driven to your destination. I'm not dismissing your attempt to enlighten us, but I'm saying unless you have a defined medical condition, is it really that much of an inconvenience to wear the mask to give me and other like me a peace of mind. I'm glad SWA stood their ground because we in fact can't really be sure for or against how much to a definitive degree mask keep us safe. It's just a logical understanding that it can add some level of safety even if it is minimal. Much like others that have been displeased with the mask mandate, switch to another airline who doesn't seem to take your health as their top priority or drive. Regardless of what you do, please stay safe and healthy.

I got a flight change tonight too but checked my flight online and it's still the same. Maybe the system just hasn't made the change yet, or something is going on? Or maybe yet, it won't happen until the 3 days are up for me to make a different arrangement. I Will check again tomorrow.

I joined this last night, I have already done multiple surveys and have a total of 700 plus points already heading to my account. I guess I will wait and see when they get posted, (states could be up to several weeks) but I have faith it will happen. Now the big question is, do these count toward A List or Companion?

I'm sorry to hear about your issue. Happy Anniversary. I know this doesn't help, but if I'm reading your comment correctly, you get another whole day to enjoy and celebrate the great occasion, that can't be all that bad.

As a Native American, I going to hopefully make this statement as politely and nonoffending as possible. Yes, your lives matter, but where have you been over the past 20 plus years while we have voiced the thousands (yes thousands) of Murdered Missing Indigenous Women(MMIW) that have been virtually ignored except by the Indigenous people. In one article I read that per capita, a Native American is most likely to be killed at the hands of a police officer than any other race. (just saying I read it, not that it's totally a fact, but I agree we die at an alarming rate as well) Not that your suffering is any less important, the Indigenous American people of this country have been dying and oppressed far longer than Black Americans. With that said, your cause is very important and I've supported it and will continue to support it, but I will do so as an "All lives matter" stand. Now to your point, I'm not sure everybody has to respond to this issue to show they are in support. Since I can't say SWA has, hasn't, or won't, I don't know how to definitively answer that. I know that I see so much diversity in who they hire, and that goes up to top-level positions. I do see there is a solution on here and hope that helps with some relief and resolution you seek. We all appreciate that you took a platform and voiced your opinion, it is well noted. I, like you, hope that there is some level of Police reform in how they handle dealing with the public in general, but most importantly, people of color. Stay strong. Your life matters.

I'm hoping an SWA employee or moderator reads this message and an alert of some sort is sent out. Now I have to go in and check on the flight that was supposed to be changed tonight. I might post a few times on this keeping it at top.

Wow, this seems to be the topic tonight, so I guess my flight change was a part of a Southwest conspiracy theory to frustrate all its customers hoping that nobody will fly with them again. NOT!! We all have our own story, maybe on this change, (I've had 3) it's not so bad, just an additional 2.5 hours and a connecting flight as opposed to the non-stop I had. But in doing so, I'm thinking that SW Airlines has had to in turn possibly put in limbo several pilots, flight attendants, and who knows how many more people because of fewer flights. I chose to sympathies with them instead of being occupied with my own frustration that neither I nor SW can control. I do appreciate your issue and hope you take the advice given of who to contact and possibly get a better resolution. And another FYI. Over the past 2 months, I bet I've made at least 20 calls to business or services in which all have prefaced me with, during the time we are experiencing our highest volume of calls, please be patient. I know nothing I said means anything to you, but just like you, I needed to get it off my chest. I wish you the best.

Although hopefully, NOTHING was guaranteed that everything would be hunky-dory in September. Yes, I'm a victim of at least 3 fights that have changed, and one done twice. I feel your frustration, but use the advice given about who to contact, and hopefully, they can inform you of a better solution or get you more compensation. Just this evening I found out a non-stop direct flight to LAX is now a go through Denver to get there due to changes in flight schedule. This is actually the 3rd one that has been altered. However, just like you, I will have to view the schedule and take a better route than suggested. It bothers me too, but just like any business in the country, not just airlines, they are adjusting to all this no more or less than everyone else. I seriously doubt they singled us out, it was just what makes sense to keep the whole operation from shutting down. I'd rather be annoyed a bit, then pissed because no flights at all are flying anywhere because airlines have to shut down.

However, just like you, I will have to view the schedule and take a better route than suggested. So since we are in the same boat, we should have gotten the same email. In the email, it states, "If you're not satisfied with the suggested flight change, you have 3 days to make your own changes. So since you already said, you see other non-stop flights only later in the day, I don't understand your issue. (other than leaving later and getting there later) it makes more sense than multiple stops. I do hope that you use the avenues to address this to the ways mentioned, but for now, just book the later non-stop flight you mentioned before they are gone.
