You may have appeared intoxicated to the staff at the gate. They do have the right to refuse flight for that reason.
I would suggest communicating your concerns directly with Southwest.
There has been a lot of activity on this board about the Holiday DISASTER as it has been known.

Under rules of the Federal Air Carrier Access Act, those who pre-board are first on the plane, regardless of A-list, Business Select or anything else.
Pre-board does not require any type of upgraded ticket. That's the law. Period.

That's hardly the point.
The OP paid to get a better boarding position. While there is no guarantee,B55 is not an early position. It is almost in the C group.
As such, Southwest is going to have to stop selling the early check in if the seating positions are already getting deep.
Of course, Southwest needs money right now to cover the Holiday DISASTER.

No, I wouldn't waste my money on such nonsense. B55 is hardly worth the cost.
Ask for a refund.

It is beyond apparent that the individual bought the early bird check-in to get a better boarding position. What else would you buy that for?
Like I said, contact Southwest and ask for a refund. You have that right.

You are not going to go to jail for pouring a drink after an incident like that. If you do, any judge is going to toss the case out and the bar owner can send a bill for goods used.

This has been discussed so many times that a little song has caught on. I hear it in different airports (MCO, PIT, HOU, etc.).
The Air Carrier Access Act makes it a legal requirement of airlines to allow preboarding for those that self-declare with a disability. Frankly, you can to backflips and acrobatics all the way to the gate and then self-declare.
On other airlines you have assigned seating. On Southwest, it is open seating. So, the preboarding shows up as a controversy on Southwest.
The little song is quite popular.

If someone was never compensated for the Holiday DISASTER, then they have the right to pursue a legal remedy. If you consider that advice to be a disaster, then continue to believe that as long as you wish.
Time is something you never get back. Southwest understands that concept too. So, if they were so concerned with the situation, they would have identified all of those impacted and resolved this LONG AGO.
Instead, we read post after post of people who can't get what is due them.
Your endless conflict with my posts comes across as nothing more than sour grapes.

That's your biased opinion and yes, you have the right to that.
I have been successful in every single arbitration matter that I have been a plaintiff and also successful in every single small claims action that I have brought as a plaintiff. While I may not have a license to practice law, that does not eradicate my knowledge of the law.
The 25,000 points didn't come out as a result of anything other than the Holiday DISASTER, as at has become known.

My suggestion is to tally up all of your costs and pursue a legal remedy. In most states, small claims is up to $8,000.
Regarding the 25,000 points, we have already established that it is not a "gift". It is intended to be some level of compensation toward the Holiday DISASTER as it has become known. From a legal standpoint, corporations do not give gifts, they offer something in renumeration or compensation.
I would not make another call or inquiry. It has been nearly three months.

You are correct about the oxygen but incorrect about what you call "HIPPA". It is actually "HIPAA" (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and it governs how COVERED ENTITIES handle Protected Health Information (PHI). Southwest Airlines is not a covered entity under HIPAA so that is not what bothers them.
The Air Carrier Access Act, not the ADA, created rules for airlines. The ADA is primarily for the employer community.

The individual makes a valid point. Family boarding goes after A and before B. That's the rule.
If the gate agent is so uniformed about the policy that they Family board too early, then they need to get a refund.
This is why Southwest has so many complaints - they don't follow their own rules. Why would anyone buy business select?

I would file a complaint online with Southwest. Have your flight number, airport code as well as travel date.
Your complaint is that the family boarding occurred before A. That is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE and I agree with you.
I would ask for the difference between business select and wanna get away refunded as a credit.
Preboard does board first and as far as military, I have no issue with them boarding early. If they didn't serve, who knows what country we'd live in?
