Well, your first day and first week will all be in a classroom-type setting. You'll probably get a tour of the airport and see some areas of interest. You'll be watching a lot of slideshows about Southwest and its history, culture, and policies. You'll also learn basic safety for working out on the ramp. After that first week, you'll transition to OJT, and you'll be on the ramp learning how to put all your classroom training to practical use. 😀
Huge words of advice: Start hydrating yourself now. It takes a bit to actually get your body to where it needs to be. It will probably be hot out there. Comfy sneakers are a must. A wide brim hat is also super helpful to protect your face and neck from the sun... and ALWAYS wear your sunscreen.
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!

Like @TheMiddleSeat said. All you need is a name and telephone number, just in case. It'll have a bag tag attached to it, so your name will at least be on that.
Oh, and a good tape job is always helpful!

@About2be I'm looking at possibly working through a staffing agency until I go to Dallas. (Positive thinking!!) And creating a thread looking for other local co-hearts traveling the same time as me is a great idea!
I saw a fb post a little while ago saying they received an offer shortly after their virtual interview today! I'm so excited for them!! Of course, they have to clear all the background process, but still... they got an offer!! I figured it would be days after the virtual before anyone heard anything! It's getting real!!

I'm glad you got put on leave and are able to come back! Take the time for you and baby. There will be plenty of bags waiting for you when you get back! 😉 I'm sure you'll still get to go to Dallas. You get some training/testing while you are there. Good luck and I hope everything goes well! 💗

They are the ones that work at the gate during boarding. They scan boarding passes, communicate with the flight crew, figure out the weight and balance. They do so much more than that though! There is a lot of standing involved, and I recommend comfortable shoes. There is usually OT for us rampers, and I'm sure it's available in the other departments too. It'll be a minute before you can grab OT. After you are fully certified and signed off, you take whatever OT you want. There are always people who want to give away their shifts, so you can always grab extra hours that way too.
Maybe another OPS Agent can chime in here?

With Southwest, it's space available. There is no first class. Business class only refers to your boarding position. You'd get the same type of seat everyone else gets. Other airlines, it's also space available, so you get whatever is left, if any. Depending on the agreement, we have to pay taxes and fees, so it's not completely free. You cannot specify a fare class unless you buy a ticket. This will all be covered during training. Dont worry! 😉 Focus on those city codes. 😀

The hiring process for inflight is very rigorous and controlled. I'm willing to bet they won't be doing interviews for FA's (Inflight). Keep an eye on the careers page for that opportunity! Good luck!

I wouldn't panic. As long as you are still in the process, you'll be fine. Sometimes the dashboard will glitch, and things can disappear, but they will usually return a few hours later. Don't worry. If it's not back up by tomorrow, I would reach out to your recruiter. Good luck and hopefully it pops back up soon!

Hello William,
is it possible for you to check my application status? It shows under review for more than 4 weeks now. it would be great If you can provide me an update if I'm still in consideration or out of the race. Thank you!!

My advice is to be patient. Southwest is hiring thousands of people this summer, and those recruiters are working their hardest and doing their best. As long as it doesn't change to 'closed complete', you're still in the green! Hang in there and I hope you hear something soon. 🙏
