Adam Boro, a travel filmmaker, recently partnered with Experience Kissimmee and Matador Network to surprise a family with an ultimate getaway to Kissimmee, Fla. Adam is on a mission to spread joy and connection through spontaneous travel with strangers. And when he met the Muse family, their surprise trip to Kissimmee brought them together in ways that will uplift your spirit.
The trip began at Dallas Love Field, where the Muse family met Adam. He revealed Kissimmee as the surprise destination, and the group checked their luggage and boarded their Southwest flight from Dallas Love Field to Orlando.
After the short flight and a quick drive to Kissimmee from the airport, the Muses and Adam checked in to the amazing house provided by Magical Vacation Homes, which was complete with a game room and a princess castle!
The next day, the activities began with a visit to Formosa Winery Tasting House for brunch. The group enjoyed delicious bites on the patio and took in spectacular views. Next up on the agenda was Andretti Indoor Karting & Games for some adventures like bowling, games, and indoor karting. The fun didn’t stop there! The Muses and Adam then visited SEA LIFE Orlando to walk through the aquarium’s exhibits and see amazing fish and marine life. The Orlando Eye at ICON Park gave the group a bird’s eye view of Kissimmee and a chance to reflect on spontaneous moments the Muses have experienced. Last on the itinerary for the day was dinner and a show at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament —talk about entertainment!
The next day, Adam surprised the Muses with visits to two theme parks—LEGOLAND® Florida Resort and Peppa Pig Theme Park! The kids loved playing with the blocks and exploring the amusement parks. To close out the night, the group went to The Wharf at Sunset Walk to enjoy live music and delicious food. Elijah even got up on stage to play the piano and serenade the crowd!
Through experiencing Kissimmee, the Muses spent time as a family and reconnected. They reminisced on past spontaneous adventures and were inspired for future opportunities to get away together. Thank you to Adam, Matador Network, and Experience Kissimmee for sharing this wonderful story with us—we’re grateful to have helped Adam surprise the Muse family with this enjoyable and spontaneous getaway!

At Southwest Airlines, we connect people to what’s important in their lives. For some Customers, that’s getting to a business meeting to close a deal, or it’s flying to spend quality time together with their loved ones, and for others—like musicians—that’s getting to their next gig to share their talents.
One musician’s journey we recently highlighted was in partnership with “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” We are proud to be the airline of choice for many creatives, but we are especially honored to support Artists On The Rise by giving them a lift in their careers and supporting them as they reach their dreams.
On the Nov. 10 episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show ,” we teamed up with “The Jennifer Hudson Show” to highlight up-and-coming artist Gabby Samone from Baltimore, Maryland. The youngest of eight, Gabby grew up singing in the church — just like Jennifer. Now, she’s recording music for her debut project and flew from Baltimore to meet Jennifer on the Warner Bros. lot.
After Gabby dazzled the audience with an impressive performance, Jennifer interviewed the budding artist and learned more about her aspirations. To continue to support her as she rises to new heights, we surprised Gabby with ten round-trip flights on Southwest.
This partnership with “The Jennifer Hudson Show” underscored how both Jennifer and Southwest aim to give up-and-coming artists the platform they need to lift their careers. To learn more about our support of creatives, go to Southwest.fm.

In partnership with Southwest and Discovery’s Shark Week, adventure filmmakers and brothers Kody and Kyler McCormick of The Outbound Life visited the Bahamas to learn more about the country and explore the different sights and activities it has to offer.
It was their first time to visit Nassau, but Kody and Kyler jumped right in to explore. Their first tip: rent a four-by-four to cover a lot of terrain in a short amount of time and make the most of your trip. They also met a local who recommended that they try a taste of the Bahamas cuisine.
Here are a few other highlights from their trip:
Queen Anne’s Staircase: This sight is truly spectacular. Built between 1793 and 1794, this landmark features 65 steps that lead from the bottom to the top. Fun fact: the staircase used to have 66 steps, but the bottom step disappeared when the lower landing was paved.
The Water Tower: This tower is the tallest structure on Nassau and was built in 1928. While the tower is closed, it’s great historical site to explore while in Nassau.
Global Travel, Tours, and Excursions: Kody and Kyler of The Outbound life took in the other islands of the Bahamas, as well. Through this excursion company, the guys ventured out to Exuma, where they swam with pigs, experienced iguanas up close, swam in the crystal blue water, and enjoyed a shark swimming experience.
While Kody and Kyler had a great time exploring Nassau, there was one highlight in particular for their trip: a diving excursion with Stuart Cove’s. Stuart Cove’s offers a variety of diving experiences, and Kody and Kyler went snorkeling with a crew to swim with sharks. Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Sharks calmly swam all around them as they snorkeled in the water and observed the beautiful marine life.
The Outbound Life guys are sure to return to Nassau to enjoy this wonderful destination. We hope you’re inspired by their video highlighting their trip!

The Kindness Diaries, now streaming its second season on Netflix, follows eternal optimist and passionate adventurer, Leon Logothetis, as he spreads his mission of kindness to unsuspecting strangers along his journey. The series showcases the travels of Leon as he embarks on a journey with no money, no food, no gas, and no place to stay. Each day he puts his trust and his fate in the hands of strangers in order to reaffirm his belief that despite what we see in the news, humans are ultimately kind. For the generosity he receives throughout his journey, he rewards Good Samaritans with life-changing gifts, featured in each episode.
In season two, Leon continued his heartfelt mission to inspire, traveling from Anchorage, Alaska, to Ushuaia, Argentina, in a vintage VW Bug, relying solely on the kindness of strangers, whom he will pay back in unexpected and inspiring ways throughout the series. Given the opportunity to extend our own kindness, Southwest played a vital role in Leon’s journey, offering to fly him from San Diego, CA, to San Jose, Costa Rica, via Houston, Texas. Leon experienced the Hospitality of our Employees firsthand as he extended his kindness mission across the country and into Central and South America.
A Partnership with Southwest
Known as the airline with Heart, Southwest is a perfect partner to join this mission with Leon to further our Purpose of connecting Customers to what matters most in their lives. Anchored by embracing Civility and practicing The Golden Rule, this mission with The Kindness Diaries aligns to what has been at the foundation of Southwest in its more than 47 years of service.
“Southwest has had one guiding principle for our People from day one, which is to follow The Golden Rule,” said Gary Kelly, Southwest Airlines Chairman and CEO. “We’ve found a kindred spirit in Leon, who is truly an inspiring humanitarian. We share Leon’s passion to make the world smaller and bring people together by spreading kindness and Civility, and making meaningful connections with our fellow neighbors—near and far. Our People strive to make a difference in our Customers’ lives each and every day.”
"I am beyond proud to partner with Southwest Airlines, a Company that truly leads with Heart,” said Leon Logothetis. “I am excited to share the power of kindness while inspiring people to go be kind."
A Conversation of Kindness
The following is a note from Leon Logothetis:
I recently traveled to Dallas, Texas, one of my previous hometowns, to visit my good friends from Southwest Airlines. I sat down for a conversation with Gary Kelly, Southwest Airlines CEO to talk about the meaning of kindness and how humans truly are innately kind. Together, with Southwest, we’re on a mission to spread kindness even further as we celebrate the launch of season two of The Kindness Diaries!
I hope you enjoy a look in on our conversation and encourage you to #GoBeKind.
We’re bringing The Kindness Diaries to life in a variety of ways. With the launch of The Kindness Diaries season two on Netflix, Customers onboard Southwest can enjoy the entire first season of the series on our Inflight Entertainment Portal on WiFi-enabled flights. Our exclusive The Kindness Diaries TV Series Channel allows Customers to immerse themselves in Leon’s adventures from season one, watch exclusive behind-the-scenes content from season two, and get a look at how Southwest supports Leon on his next big adventure.
We encourage you, as you encounter and deliver acts of kindness, whether in the air or on the ground, to share those stories on social media using #GoBeKind, continuing the shared mission of Leon and Southwest.

The following blog post was written by Linda Macey, Senior Manager Airport Affairs at Southwest Airlines and avid Shark-diving enthusiast.
We are going to need a bigger boat!
Southwest Airlines is teaming up with Discovery Channel’s Shark Week and invites you to enter for a chance to win an all-inclusive trip to Guadalupe Island, Mexico for the adventure of a lifetime at www.Southwest.com/sharkweek.
Long considered a top “bucket list” destination for shark enthusiasts around the world, Guadalupe Island, Mexico is the ultimate destination for great white shark encounters. This small volcanic island, located about a day’s boat ride off the west coast of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, outperforms both South Africa and Australia with shark-seeing consistency and conditions. Only Guadalupe Island can boast Great White Shark viewing in beautiful clear blue water with 100+ foot visibility—and you don’t even need a scuba certification to get a front row seat for the action!
Boats stage their submersible cage diving operations in the bay just off the island and guarantee unforgettable encounters. Isla Guadalupe’s shark tours remain some of the few that do not chum the water and that do not try to antagonize the creatures, but rather embrace an eco-tourism approach of leaving food floating in the water and allowing the sharks to inspect and interact. The result is unforgettable—a shark viewing opportunity, up close and personal, that is like no other in the world.
At Guadalupe, shark sightings are almost guaranteed during the months from June to October. After spotting your first great white, everything about these animals will fascinate you; their curiosity, speed, size, and behaviors towards one another will enthrall you. After just one encounter you will never again question why they are called the “Great” White Shark. This trip will allow you to experience firsthand the majesty and "greatness of the Great White Shark.
At Southwest, we create memories, and with Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, this experience is sure to be a Great White one! Enter to win the Dare to Dive sweepstakes at www.Southwest.com/sharkweek for a chance to win a five-day all-inclusive experience with round trip air travel for one winner and one (1) guest to San Diego, CA to experience a Great White Shark cage diving excursion with Islander Charters off Guadalupe Island, Mexico. United States issued passports are required for travel. To check out the full itinerary of the trip, visit https://www.islander-charters.com/itinerary/.
Enter today for your chance to create an exciting story that will be worth sharing with your friends and family for years to come!

This week, Southwest Airlines teamed up with Austin-based jewelry and lifestyle company, Kendra Scott, to surprise and delight Customers traveling from Austin to Chicago (Midway).
The team at Kendra Scott is working this holiday season to #MakeSpiritsBright, and Southwest was the perfect partner to bring this to life. The events kicked off at Austin Bergstrom International Airport with CEO and Founder Kendra Scott surprising Passengers by making announcements in the gate area before boarding. Her announcement was met with cheers from the crowd, and the fun continued as Kendra handed out goodie bags to Customers as they boarded the flight. Once onboard, Customers of age enjoyed a round of free drinks, courtesy of Kendra Scott.
Upon touching down in Chicago, the Customers from the flight were given a golden ticket to head to baggage claim for one final surprise. There, a yellow-clad Santa was waiting for his “bags” and as the carousel started to move indicating the arrival of luggage, giant life-size gift boxes came down the baggage claim belt before any Passenger luggage arrived. These boxes were full of goodies, including Kendra Scott jewelry, and Santa passed them out to Passengers in hopes of putting a smile on faces for the holiday season.
Happy Holidays! We hope you have a very safe and bright holiday season.

The following post is from Mallory Culley
Mallory and Landon were married on February 14th at the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park in downtown Denver.
For Landon and me, it all began with one of the greatest love stories of all time—Romeo and Juliet—that we studied in our high school English class. We were living in Salt Lake City at the time, and quickly became friends. After graduation we managed to keep in touch, but remained just as friends.
A few years later, Landon found a tiny, three week old kitten and named her Zelda. She still had to be bottle fed and, though I had no idea she would eventually be mine, it was one of my favorite things to do. When I made the decision to move to colorful Colorado, Landon made sure to send me lots of pictures of the little Zelda, and I would occasionally call him from my dorm room after class. He was there for me on my 20th birthday and I kept him entertained with pictures of the 16th Street mall from my dorm room window.
Landon’s dad owns Arkade, a prominent snowboard magazine in Utah, so every year their family would travel to Denver for SIA, major snowboarding convention held in the area. One January, after not seeing each other for more than two years, I met up with Landon at SIA and spent the next two days showing him around Denver—Denver Aquarium, Denver Art Museum, Pints Pub, Twist and Shout, and the Auraria campus. It was only after exploring the city that has since become so special to us, that Landon and I realized the feelings we had for each other were more than friendly. The next few years were spent hopping between Utah and Colorado, with a painfully long seven month stretch of long-distance dating while I worked at Walt Disney World and he remained in Salt Lake City.
Landon and I have been best friends for seven years now. His tiny kitten Zelda has become our very vocal six year old cat who loves to cuddle and play with the newest addition to our family, a black cat named Spooky Black who we rescued from The Humane Society South Platte Valley in Littleton. As if by fate, I spend my days working as an adoption counselor for the Humane Society educating people on proper cat care, and Landon is a Produce Manager at Sprouts. We enjoy snowboarding together and dream of one day taking over Arkade. Over the years, Landon and I have attended concerts of our two favorite bands of all time together (Future Islands and Beach House) and discovered shared passions in toy hunting and collecting Disney memorabilia. I never thought I would find someone who loves Disney as much as I do, so it’s fitting that we will continue our very own epic love story in the happiest place on earth for our honeymoon(It will be Landon’s first time!).
Most of all, we are both so excited to start our marriage in the city that helped bring us together, to tie the knot at center ice at the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park—it will be a truly memorable Valentine’s Day for us, and can’t wait to keep expanding our little kitty family!
“This bud of love, by summer’s ripening breath, may prove a beauteous flower when next we meet.”
– Juliet (Act II, Scene 2)

The holidays are right around the corner, and Southwest is here to help you celebrate the season—whether it’s connecting you to family that lives in another city, bringing family and friends from across the country to see you, or helping you to celebrate the season in your own hometown.
Not only do we provide friendly service at the airports we serve and on our planes in the air, but also we operate branded spaces in a few cities that provide hospitality through the Southwest Porch at Bryant Park in New York City, the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park in Denver, and the Southwest Porch at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas.
Just in time for the Rockefeller Center tree lighting on November 30, 2016, the local CBS station in New York posted an article about the best bars near Rockefeller Center. We are proud to say that the Southwest Porch at Bryant Park, which is an outdoor spot open to the public to enjoy a meal or relax, made the list! Whether you’re a Big Apple local or a visitor to the city, we welcome you to The Porch to stop by and stay for a while.
The Southwest Porch at Bryant Park hosts programming throughout the year, in addition to holiday events, so be sure to check out the calendar of events as you plan your trip to New York City.
On November 22, The Southwest Rink at Skyline Park in Denver opened for its seventh season and welcomes locals and visitors alike to take a spin on the ice and celebrate the season. The Rink is open from November 22, 2016, to February 14, 2017, so there’s plenty of time to lace up and head out there! For more information and to see upcoming events planned for the rink, please visit southwestrink.com.
For those who call Dallas home or plan to visit the Lone Star State, The Southwest Porch at Klyde Warren Park is a great spot to stop by and spend some time. The Porch is open year round, but if you’re looking for a holiday celebration, stop by on Saturday, December 3, for the annual tree lighting and festivities. For more information, visit klydewarrenpark.org.

The following is a post from Southwest Airlines and Lilly Pulitzer lover, Lacey Maten. Lacey, along with her daughter Piper, were invited to celebrate Lilly Pulitzer’s birthday with a day full of surprises. Just as Washington, D.C., started to get chilly and fall-like, we received an invitation to hop on a Southwest flight to Palm Beach. That alone made us jump for joy, but the fact that Lilly Pulitzer would be throwing a party at the gate and onboard took it to another level. My mother wore Lilly often and had me wearing it from the time I was a baby. I passed down the love of the bright resort wear to my daughter, Piper. We even have a few Lilly Pulitzer styles that have even been passed through generations.
The Lilly Pulitzer Southwest flight was to celebrate what would have been Lilly Pulitzer’s 84th birthday. No arm twisting required, we were in! We packed our new Lilly printed Expandable Weekender Travel Tote full of easy, mix-and-match Lilly clothes, perfect for travel. Nothing says Palm Beach like the timeless iconic Lilly prints and effortless styles.
We made our way toward the Southwest gate at Baltimore and could hear the DJ’s tunes in the distance. The smiles on our faces grew to epic proportions. We headed downstairs to Gate A3 and were greeted by Southwest and Lilly team members who were enthusiastic, fun, and helpful. Lilly was evident all over the place … coconut macaroons, music, Lilly prints, and even a talented Lilly artist painting live. It was absolutely fascinating to watch her canvas come to life.
We boarded the flight with the chicest gift bags and were welcomed by friendly Southwest crew members. During the flight, the Lilly team and Southwest crew kept the party going with a variety of fun giveaways. There were resort scarves, packable tote bags, accessories, and a Southwest gift card. Everyone on the flight was thrilled and couldn’t wait for each surprise to be revealed.
After a quick two hours, we arrived in Palm Beach and were welcomed once again by a bevy of Lilly beauties. And just like that we were off to explore Palm Beach looking right at home in all our Lilly gear. The entire experience was fabulous. A mother/daughter memory that will stay with us forever. Our takeaway? Play hooky, pack a bag full of Lilly, hop on a Southwest flight to someplace warm, and make some memories. Life is short, and we are inspired to try to live each day like a party! Thank you, Southwest and Lilly, for making it so easy.
—By Lacey Maten

This is a guest blog post from Janie Paradis, Senior Vice President at Lilly Pulitzer.
At Lilly Pulitzer, we love to travel. And, since you always have to travel in style, we’ve compiled our insider packing tips to help you be the most efficient traveler on the Southwest plane and the coolest and the most colorful on the beach:
Tip 1: Cozy up in cashmere. Air conditioned airports and flights offer the perfect opportunity to indulge in our Ellis Cashmere Wrap (chicest blanket ever!) and start your beach read. On your way out for dinner, we suggest you reach for our Amalie Open Front Cardigan to throw over your romper to keep colorful once the sun sets (or if the restaurant air conditioning is over zealous!). Bonus tip: Stick a dryer sheet between each of your sweaters when you pack them to guarantee that they smell clean and fresh when you take them out to wear.
Tip 2: Spend the day at the beach with your girls? All you have to do to prepare your little one for the evening is brush the sand off your daughter and throw her in a Mini Mila Shift Dress and she is dinner-ready. Bonus tip: To keep them occupied, have your kids play #FindTheLilly in their Lilly clothes. We still hide Lilly’s name in each of our prints, just like Lilly herself did in the 50s.
Our last tip is to pack a printed caftan in your carry on. In the event that you’re not able to check into your hotel upon arrival, you’ll be read with the caftan to wear as a cover-up to the pool or pair with your Laura Pineapple Strap sandals to wear straight to dinner. Bonus tip: Pack a bag of sliced lemons in your carry on as well and add them to your water as you travel. We promise you’ll be feeling refreshed and hydrated by the end of the flight.
Be sure to join us starting June 20 to celebrate National Wear Your Lilly Day and kick off the start of summer. We want to share our obsession with Southwest with you, so we are hosting a Facebook contest to win a $500 Lilly shopping spree, a $500 Southwest gift card, AND a custom framed 5x5 print. We can already picture you jet setting to Palm Beach in your latest Lilly ensemble… #SummerInLilly

Southwest Airlines is all about connecting People to what they’re passionate about, including music and television. One of the ways that we bring that to life is through our sponsorship of the ATX Television Festival, which celebrates the love of television throughout the years and the fans who are dedicated to the shows, actors, writers, and all things TV.
Each year the festival drums up creative new programming, and 2016 was no different. Among the events we enjoyed most was the Friday Night Lights Tailgate and Pep Rally, which reunited cast members after the show’s premier on NBC ten years ago. Attendees enjoyed a screening of a fan-favorite episode, and jammed out during performances from local bands and, if you’re a true fan you’ll remember, Crucifictorious (the fictional band from the show).
In celebration of the Friday Night Lights Tailgate and Pep Rally, we’re here to keep you in the spirit with the Top Seven reasons (get it? a touchdown plus the field goal is seven points) how Southwest Airlines is similar to the TV show Friday Night Lights.
Just like the Panthers and the Lions had a great coach leading them–Coach Taylor– Southwest Airlines has a great Leader at the helm in Gary Kelly!
Both Friday Night Lights and Southwest Airlines share a love for Austin, Texas. Spoiler alert! Dillon, TX, is the fictional town from the show, but scenes for the show were actually filmed in Austin.
Working for an airline is the ultimate team sport. From the air, to the ground, and everything in between, it takes everyone on our Team to get our Customers to their destination safely and on time.
We root on our fellow Employees and celebrate our victories together, just like the fans on the TV show cheer on their teams.
We own our home turf, just like the teams on Friday Night Lights. We are proud to support and be an integral part of the 98 communities in which we serve.
We know how to have fun! Fans on the TV show turn out for the games, pep rallies, and tailgates, and we at Southwest Airlines celebrate and preserve our Culture with Company and Customer events throughout the year.
Just like the Dillon Panthers rally around their unifying symbol of the Panther P before a game, we rally around our Heart—it’s at the center of everything that we do.
We also partnered with ATX Television Festival to create the first-ever ATX Television Festival Channel onboard our WiFi-equipped aircraft. This channel brings exclusive content and panels from previous festivals to our Customers while they’re at 35,000 feet! Be sure to tune in from now until the end of August to catch all of the content.
Clear skies, full tanks, can’t lose.

This is a guest post from our partners at Bryant Park Corporation in New York City.
A new trend among young DIYers is the crafting of flower crowns. Decorated with beautiful blooms, these headdresses are a great accessory for spring. To give you the skills necessary to create your own, Southwest Porch at Bryant Park in New York City is holding a Flower Crown Crafting workshop on the evening of Wednesday, April 6.
Brianne Manz of the Stroller in the City blog is hosting the session, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Come by and make a gorgeous crown while enjoying a beer, glass of wine, or signature cocktail, available for purchase at the bar. All the materials you need to build your crown are provided for free while supplies last, and each participant will also receive a complimentary spring-themed cookie to snack on.
Southwest Porch is the park’s cozy niche where you can relax while sitting in luxurious outdoor furniture. With food and beverage service provided by Ark Restaurants (the same group that operates Bryant Park Grill and Café), it’s a fabulous spot for a drink and snack al fresco. No purchase is necessary to enjoy the Porch, however, so you can also simply come by and give your feet a rest from strolling the park.

“When I think of Southwest, I think convenient, ontime, and rewarding.”
—David Kouba, co-owner, Tower Technology, Inc.
Just like Southwest Airlines, David Kouba connects people to what’s important to them. While Southwest gets Customers from point A to point B, David analyzes cellphone towers and their performance to ensure that people are connected to family, friends, and work associates through their mobile device networks. David travels all over the country. Most of his business trips are quick ones—he sometimes leaves his home in Kansas City, Missouri, and returns the same day—and he depends on Southwest’s ontime service to get the job done.
Flight Perk: “I love the Companion Pass, which I earned by using the Southwest Chase Visa credit card and taking a few flights a year. I can bring a family member or a friend to enjoy the trip with me.”
Best Advice: “Get busy living; you know what the alternative is.”
Top Destination: “Portland, Oregon. There is so much to do around the area—Mount Hood for skiing, the Columbia River Gorge with Multnomah Falls for some of the best hiking and scenery, and the wineries to the south for the best pinot noir in the country.”
Family Time: “I coached my kids in football, soccer, basketball, and baseball. Now that they’re older, we still play golf and tennis—I usually lose.”

Awards season is in high gear, but humans aren’t the only ones taking home trophies for keeping us entertained. Our four-legged friends provided us with some of the year’s most memorable stories, best dance moves, and cutest photos of the year. What better way to honor them than to partner with the World Dog Awards and transport some of the nominated dogs to the show?
We were especially excited that two of our furry friends, Manny the Frenchie and TurboRoo the Two-Legged Chihuahua, were invited to attend the awards show. Manny is nominated for Most Pawpular, and TurboRoo will be featured in a special “Barkstage” segment. These dogs, along with a few other small dogs, flew on Southwest to attend the awards. The pups received a swag bag, complete with a Southwest branded pet carrier and a collar, so that they could travel in style.
The pups were given full VIP (Very Important Pet) treatment once they arrived at the airport and onboard the plane, thanks to our awesome Employees, who went above and beyond to make their trips extra special.
Manny the Frenchie loves to fly Southwest Airlines
Will Manny win “Most Pawpular” tonight? What will TurboRoo reveal during the special “Barkstage” segment? Tune in March 1 on the CW at 8:00 Eastern/7:00 Central to watch all of the action—it will be a doggone good time!
