It takes hours or flight time in the right or left seat to become a pilot - not the number of years. Also, a four year degree is preferred and not required. Any degree awarded with either a BA or BS would be a 4 year degree. Is that what your flight school offers? Here are Southwest's requirements: https://careers.southwestair.com/pilots

Yes, but instead of just volunteering, how about a job where you can learn? Interested in becoming a doctor? Work as a CNA. Thinking about going into engineering?
