My mom and I didn’t have our 2 bags for 8 days in Orlando we had $289 in expenses between the 2 of us (including XL shirts/shorts which are usually more expensive) sure 3 weeks is longer and you had 1 additional person compared to me but I still think $6000 is crazy let’s say you bought a $1000 ticket a person ($3000) luggage you can get for under $200 on Amazon so 3 bags ($600) so still $2400 just clothes hmm you buying a wedding dress and tuxedo?

If I wasn’t ALP I think I’d pay the extra $20ish to get A1-15 during peak travel season if going with a group buy 1 upgrade boarding then save seats further back in the plane (row 10 vs row 1 isn’t that different) less people might ask for your seats and one of the first on the plane (after preboarders) is better than you could still be last

Doors close 10min before the flight time so even with arriving at 7:55 you would be within that 10min window. could they have delayed the flight sure but if they hold for you but not someone else it creates issues also they see it as 2 people vs 100+ for inconvenience it’s easier to deal with 2 people.
Also maybe the crew was close to timing out so if they wait for delayed passengers that could cause an entire plane to be cancelled because they waited on 2 people. There are a lot of factors that go in to waiting or going but 2 people isn’t a lot to them I get it being stuck is no fun
maybe write an email to southwest and they can give a voucher as a goodwill gesture even though it was a weather delay that caused this.

It’s common for them to take wheelchairs down before preboarders who are walking down on the 20+ flights I’ve been on this year alone that's how it has worked most of the time because it takes longer to get a person out of a wheelchair and onboard the aircraft.
Did the few people in front of you who were also pre boards make that much of a difference? I would have just sat down and waited until they were ready for me if that meant I ended up in row 5 instead of 1 oh well

I’m curious if you print the boarding pass or look at the mobile boarding pass does it say EB check in on the pass anywhere? Online does it have that little Sun looking symbol?
if your kids were younger they could do family boarding but at age 12 that is out of the equation. You could always talk to the gate agent and see if they can board during the extra time group after A and before B the worst they say is no

So one flight delay/cancellation and that’s your last straw after 10 years?? Good luck with the other guys they delay and cancel flights as well but you will most likely have to layover somewhere to get from SNA to SJC enjoy the long travel days ahead

I’ve held a seat before but was told the fare is not locked in just that the flight won’t sell out

You can always call SW and ask them to tell you when you used the voucher and how much was used each time. They did this for me once when I forgot when a voucher was used. Not all agents will know how to do this so it may take a couple calls until you get an agent who knows how to see luv voucher history

You could open another email ticket and reference the other case numbers or try Twitter or Facebook and hopefully they will respond.
i have one case that’s over 2 weeks old (not related to the meltdown) but still waiting.

We’re they closing the door to push back from the gate when you went to the bathroom I know to some FAs it is annoying that this causes a delay while folks go to the bathroom because they can’t close the door if folks are moving around the cabin. now if they were still boarding I don’t see a reason why it would be an issue to use the bathroom but sometimes folks have bad days
