Correct. You can actually bring 2 things on board., as long as one can fit under the seat.

I'm curious what you define as a "better seat". You're not getting stuck in a middle seat, are you? And paying for overhead bin space seems silly to me. Checked bags are free and don't get scrutinized by TSA to the same degree. I'm not following the logic, sorry.

While I agree it's past time to give people some flexibility on this mask stuff, it's an FAA rule, not SWA. And I hope you don't consider 9/11 "overhyped nonsense ". Maybe just the security theater that is TSA. There again, I'd tend to agree. Dangerous water bottles, flip flops, and peanut butter....

They didn't give mine a second glance. But I guess it can't hurt to find testimony from your airport.

Yes, some crews handle things differently. They're human... not the automatons you find on other airlines. And you claim you were treated like a child. Well, I daresay you sound like one coming here to vent in public that you were "offended". So maybe they treated YOU appropriately. They are tasked with enforcing mandates that are tedious, honerous, and in many ways past due for repeal. At least many people think they are, and act accordingly. If you had to deal with that every day, you might be surly as well. So have some compassion and toughen up a little bit. Whining is not an appealing quality. I've been on over a hundred flights with mask mandates and have seen the gamut of attitude out of the flight attendants. It's certainly gotten worse over the months. Does it annoy me sometimes? Sure. But never enough to get on the internet and publicly disclose that I'm so frail that I take rule enforcement personally and need a support group when I land.

Do you think that's a viable reason to preboard? Doesn't seem like one to me. Are some seats more soaked in peanut oil? Are you afraid of being forced to eat peanuts if you sit in back?

Anybody read it differently? I've done the same calculus. But I've never ended up booking that room. They are only common to me in Vegas, and I didn't up picking a big hotel that offered them. I didn't conclude that those were bonus points, but it would be good to know for sure. I ended up getting close enough to CP this year that I won't have to worry, but won't be so fortunate in the future.

I don't think people should fly a dishonest company Wow, you're right! You caught them. They really have the planes available and are actually flying them! They just lied and told the passengers they were canceled because they wanted to fly a bunch of employees around the country instead. A few of them actually flew empty because, you know, it's a treat they reward pilots with to be able to hot rod once in a while. Thank you for creating a new account and leaking your insightful conspiracy. I would have thought Southwest would prefer to make money on their flights and avoid bad publicity. But you're smarter than they are. I appreciate you enlightening us to their true nefarious motives.

The plane you were to be flying on had a whole day of other flights before it got to Denver. So 10 hours prior to your flight, it was in a different city with different weather. If it got stuck in that city, it couldn't make it to Denver. Therefore, your flight would necessarily be canceled. SWA doesn't have a surplus of extra planes and extra pilots sitting around the country waiting to make up for bad weather. So no, I don't find it suspicious at all. Unfortunate, yes... but at least you learned early on and could investigate other options.

No, we're not missing the point. You are. You just used 4 or 5 quite descriptive emotional adjectives to describe an airline seat. We don't understand why you would describe a seat with such vitriol, or if so, why that particular seat was so different than the one you ended up sitting in. In my opinion, the two seats are rather identical, and as an inanimate object, neither is worthy of such description.

Look at it the other way around. You didn't get stuck between annoying people. You got to pick your own seat. Any other airline you'd either pay extra to get a seat, or be stuck with what they gave you. All the seats go to the same place. You saved money and got a better seat. What is there to complain about exactly?

You aren't purchasing them directly. If you haven't tried Southwest hotels Rapid rewards offers, you haven't seen what I'm referring to.

As said, do it the other way. Gain points doing other things and spend them on flights. One thing about Vegas... you can book lots of hotels through Southwest and get extra points for a very good rate... pretty close to their value. It's probably the best rate I've seen. Why buy points at all? Mainly to get to a Companion pass. Otherwise, it doesn't really make sense. Unless of course someone else is paying for the hotel.
