I have been on the phone with multiple agents today, to include speaking to two agents here at the airport. What a pain.
TSA’s official stance is any minor 17 and younger can go through TSA pre-check with their parent PROVIDING the airline puts the pre-check on the minors ticket. They do not care if it’s on one reservation, two reservations. backwards reservations, upside down reservations, whatever. The only policy they have is that the airline confirms the minor is in fact related to the TSA approved parent/guardian.
Southwest’s policy and/or the way they have programmed the computers ONLY allows Southwest to put the pre-check on minors traveling under the same reservation number… and if your minor is the companion then per Southwest policy and/or computer system they will be assigned a separate reservation number… so you are correct, if your minor is your companion, then your minor will never receive the TSA pre-check based upon the way Southwest has structured it’s policy and computer system.

Yeah, that would seem to match the previous protocol for same day standby.
Kind of a bummer. No advantage to bring on the standby list early, and no way to automatically be informed of open seats. You still have to log in often and check and be the first one to grab them when they open up.

Yeah, I suspect after leaving the airport, you're out of luck.
My bag came down the conveyer with the handle out and bent. Why they took it out, I have no idea. It was hard to get back in, so they left it out and it got trashed.
I turned and saw the baggage CSA standing there. I made a face and she walked inside and printed me a $200 voucher.
Couldn't have been easier.
Sorry about your bag, glad you got a voucher easily. 😬

Hi PamG
Just do like everyone else does on Southwest. Pretend you’re disabled and then get miraculously cured after boarding.
This is something that Southwest’s model of boarding promotes, so take advantage of it.

I don't think you can. What you can do is, use Rapid Rewards points to pay yourself back for travel purchases made with your Chase credit card. You can redeem your points for a statement credit within 90 days of your purchase. However, you need to have enough points to cover the entire purchase amount, and you will not earn points on the redeemed purchase.

SWA stopped flying into Mexico City a few years ago. Unlikely they’d restart.
But yes, Volaris from TIJ is probably a good option. Thinking about taking that flight myself.

So evidently if daylight saving time ends during this period you are instructed to check in at the 23 hour point. Yes, this is happening to me this weekend.
That sounds consistent with past time changes - check in at the correct “number” hour as if it was usually 24 hours in advance even if it is 25 hours in the fall back or 23 hours in the spring forward.
This is the easiest way so the passengers don’t have to do the math on the time.

I haven't checked luggage in over 25 years. After the second time my luggage did not arrive, once again with very specific clothing required, a suit for an international presentation & a banquet down the first time, that was the very last time I ever checked luggage.
I do love your thinking. It's a great idea if it works for you. However, never have the luxury to sit around and wait for 30 rows of people to deplane. But if I had the time it sounds very entertaining.

I have the Booking Number (or Confirmation Number), but cannot find PIN.
Where is that located? Does it change on each reservation, or is it a constant number used on each reservation?

You have the right to be heard. You have the right to disagree, as do the other members of this board.
It is important that everyone have the right to express their views. Right now, Southwest is under severe criticism for how they have handled everything related to the last ten days. Other airlines have had a blip, but what has gone on with Southwest is a disaster.
Never have I read a blog board where someone referred to Southwest as "SouthWORST". That is sad.

It is funny to see how much anxiety people put themselves through. Rushing to the baggage claim only to wait another 10 minutes for the bags to even ARRIVE to start their ride on the deck.
I usually sit up front so I have been the first person off the plan in about 80% of my flights. But, looking behind me, I see so many people struggling.

Yep. Interesting.
While they’re fixing it…hopefully they’ll put in a way to automatically use them. I often times just open up the browser anyway so I can paste them into the app for a new ticket purchase.
Otherwise I have to take a screen shot off the website and then manually type them in.
Both are really a needless hassle.

I just finished checking in for my flight from ATL to LAS. When I dropped my bags off at bag drop, the agent asked me if I had any weapons, explosives, etc etc, and for some reason, I said “I have a stun gun, is that okay?”.
Long story short, they asked a bunch of people (went to the back and were on the phone & everything) and eventually, someone with some authority said no.
At first, it seemed the issue was with the battery and whether it was lithium. They asked me to confirm, but I was unable to because for whatever reason neither the official brand website nor the Amazon listing I’d bought it from specified the type of battery. But while I was searching, it seems whoever the agent had asked figured it out after five minutes, and they conclusively said no stun guns point blank.
I asked to clarify - does Southwest deviate from TSA policy? Because TSA allows stun guns through. They said that yes, Southwest policy is different and it is Southwest policy to not allow stun guns onto the plane.
What’s funny is that I managed to fly to ATL on Southwest with that same stun gun in my checked baggage. No issues that time, and I didn’t bother saying anything because I thought, if TSA says okay, then it’s okay. Why I said something this time is a mystery, even to me. So draw whatever conclusions you’d like from that.

I preboard on every flight. It is my right under ADA.
As far as the whole family, a preboard person can take with them one companion. When the whole family with kids wants to preboard, the question is what do they do with the kids when they aren't on the plane?
If they are able to keep up with the kids, then they don't need to preboard.
Next time, request a wheelchair and you will be first on and off the plane. I just watched a family abuse the preboard policy on the way from Los Cabos MX to Houston. They probably were awake all night trying to rig the preboard rules so that they could all get the front rows.
Next time, I'm requesting a wheelchair to get on ahead of these people.

Yeah, it's one way on Sunday. So I get full credit for today's flight.
So I can book my wife's last leg on Sunday morning and cancel the CP ticket once the first leg is completed.
Customer service confirmed this would be the way to do it.
They get $180 for me NOT completing a flight, since I have to pay for her to fly solo last minute. But I save almost as much or more skipping a flight tomorrow and possibly another flight in the future.
And time and gas money.

I have the same question. I receive a very specific number if “action based bonus” points of 3,624. This is in addition to the posting of points from my credit card statement that included individual bonuses on internet purchased, Rapid Rewards partner, Southwest Travel. The only thing I think it could be are the 25% bonus on all credit card purchases associated with A-List membership. But I can’t re-calculate the number of bonus points by applying 25% to any number I see on any statement.. But if this isn’t the 25% bonus, I don’t know what ir is.
