So I guess we just grin and bear with the interruption… Oops!… Planes passing overhead… in… quick succession…

I'm really not sure if this person is trying to make a joke or not. Are you saying that you are losing internet in *your home* when a Southwest plane flies above your house? I'm quite certain that your internet provider is in no way related to Southwest's internet provider, so a plane's lack of internet is not the same as your own lack of internet.

This sounds dreadful, especially the delay after landing. I'm having trouble believing that the airplane door wouldn't open though. I'd sooner believe PHL had trouble with the gate/ramp connection because I have had some delays with that myself on later flights due to lack of personnel to operate the ramp that connects to the door. Someone always eventually come around though. Never had to exit from the back of the plane before. I also have trouble believing that *no one* would help you especially if you had a child and multiple bags and were visibly pregnant? And even if no one asked you, did you ask anyone? Sounds like you didn't. I certainly would have, in this situation.

Learn something new every day! I never would have thought you could use RR points to renew TSA Precheck. Considering online renewals are $70, I would just pay that, unless you REALLY had some points to burn (and maybe you do).

The later you purchase Early Bird, the less beneficial it is, because think about it: A-List and A-List Preferred already get priority, and all of the Early Birds who purchased Early Bird before you also get priority. Because of that, getting an A position is not guaranteed. The only real benefit is that you don't have to worry about checking in right at the 24 hour mark to get a boarding position assignment, since that is already taken care of for you 36 hours in advance.

How can American have multiple daily nonstops to FL airports but Southwest has literally none? MCO nonstops on Saturdays only? It makes zero sense honestly.

Yes, here is the policy:
If you don’t cancel your reservation at least 10 minutes before the flight’s original scheduled departure time, the value of Business Select or Anytime tickets will be refunded in the form of a flight credit. Unfortunately, any Wanna Get Away or Wanna Get Away Plus funds will be forfeited.

No, you have never needed a negative test to fly domestically in the United States. No airline has required this.

I would be concerned, as sometimes Southwest does make mistakes and the flight(s) they think they changed you to might not exist or might have nonexistent or impossible connections. I once had a flight change where my "connecting" flight arrived after my connection departed 😂 So if your flights do not look right to you, ask Southwest to make it right; you are allowed a one time change for free, and especially considering if Southwest made a mistake changing/updating your reservation, they will correct it at no cost.

You look up the first departing flight of the day on the ABQ web site?
https://www.abqsunport.com/arrival-departures/
Looks like the first Southwest flight for tomorrow departs at 5:05AM, so the counter would open at 4:05. I presume most daily flights depart around 5:00AM at the earliest.

When Southwest makes schedule changes as you have described, they should send you an e-mail outlining the change. In regards to a cancellation, I am surprised they did not try to rebook you on a flight that left the next day automatically.
Considering your trip was back in April, it has already happened - in fact it happened months ago. So what was the resolution? How did you get home? When did you get home? You say 2 of 3 people were "affected by the change" so did Southwest actually book you on a different flight? If this is the case, you should have received an e-mail about the change and you should have been able to make a free flight change to whatever other flight(s) you wanted at no cost to you.
Waiting over a month for a resolution does not make sense, but I am not sure what you want. Southwest changed/cancelled your flights, and you still made it home (presumably) - flight changes have been par for the course for over 2 years now due to fluctuating demand and schedule changes. If Southwest completely cancelled your flight and did not rebook you you may be titled to a refund or compensation, but if they rebooked you and you took those flights, you are not entitled to a refund.

I don't believe A1-A15 is part of the Early Bird selection, since those are reserved for Business Select upgrades. The closest you could get is A16, and yes, it's very possible that there were 45+ people who also had EB on your flight. Despite its name, Early Bird does not "guarantee" an "A" boarding position.
If you can board with your toddler after the A group, I am confused why you purchased Early Bird. It doesn't seem worth the cost considering you board after the A group and are ahead of more than 50% of people who will board the plane.

Considering you can only bring 3.4oz of liquids on a plane, I am curious how you got “soaked” with tequila. Typically the mini liquor bottles are like 100mL or about a shot’s worth.

There is no catch! Why would you think there would be a catch? If they are offering that many points, as long as you book the hotel with that offer you will get the points after you complete your stay. It can take up to 8 weeks to post. The most I have ever gotten was 8,000 points once. Generally, the longer and/or more expensive your room, the more points you can get.

A lot of routes are changing and nonstops are becoming rarer to/from certain destinations, in my view. I, too, had an 8AM flight that was changed to 5:30AM. Whenever Southwest makes a schedule change you should get an e-mail about it and you have the ability to change your flights to any other that is available for free! But you have to do it in a certain time frame because the free change benefit does not last forever. So go and change your flight and see what options are available. You may have to deal with a layover, but you might be able to get a better time than 5AM.

I think you are misunderstanding. If you booked travel in April for flights on or after May 17 you will get the new benefits. It is retroactive, as you said. The flights just have to occur May 17 or later. Today is May 20 any flights from here on out will get the benefits regardless of when they were booked.

@jksobonya would you share the link where it is stated that Anytime fares booked after May 17 are grandfathered in for EB? I booked in April and was hoping the EB was retroactive if travel hasn't been completed yet.

More Perks Southwest is also enhancing benefits to its Anytime and Business Select® fares. These fares now have the same transferable flight credit benefit as Wanna Get Away Plus, and Anytime fares now gain EarlyBird Check-In6, Priority Lane7, and Express Lane8 benefits. Tier Members (A-List /A-List Preferred Customers) now receive same-day confirmed change in addition to same-day standby9.
And that's not all. Customers who previously purchased tickets for travel on or after May 17, 2022, experience the new benefits too. This means all Business Select and Anytime tickets automatically receive these perks, and Wanna Get Away® ticket holders can now upgrade to Wanna Get Away Plus10.

I would think that you would qualify for a refund. Contact Southwest and explain the situation. Customers who purchased tickets for travel on or after May 17 automatically receive the new benefits, so if you paid for Early Bird, I believe a refund is in order since Early Bird is now automatically included with Anytime fares.

The resort being "terrible" doesn't have anything to do with your flight being delayed by a day? I assume you selected the resort you wanted to stay at including the room type ... so ... it really confuses me when people book a hotel room and then claim it is "terrible" and they want to be moved to "another" hotel. That is not how it works at all. If your room was truly unkempt, not clean, etc., they could perhaps move you to another room, but wanting to stay at another hotel altogether is ridiculous.

This isn't MCO but I am looking at flights from PHL to MIA or FFL in September and the flight paths are just ... insane. How are there no nonstops at all? This should be a < 3 hour nonstop flight but some of the routes literally have me going from PHL to CHICAGO to BALTIMORE to FLORIDA. Almost a 12 hour trip that should take 3. Another good one going home is FFL to DALLAS to ST LOUIS to PHILLY.
Make it make sense lol.
American has nonstops, SWA ... don't make me pick AA!

“Not receiving awarded points” sounds immediately suspicious. 99% of the time points are not rewarded because the terms and conditions of the offer were not met. I am willing to bet this is what happened with you. What were the terms and conditions of your offer? Did you meet them in the specified timeframe? You don’t have to give a lot of detail, but not knowing the terms and conditions of your offer means that no one can give you any guidance on who is right or wrong in your situation.
