Best of luck to you in your future travels. Community members offering solutions to your concerns doesn't make them fanboys or employees it makes them members of a community trying to offer solutions. "Expecting" exceptions to a company's policies is not a good way to got through life no matter what you or your family's specific afflictions are.

Sorry to hear your won't being flying, please travel safely. Airlines don't and won't be influencing the Gov't requirement for masking. Since it sounds like you are traveling across state lines make sure you adhere to state mandates regarding self-quarantining for visitors out of state who are not vaccinated. These rules vary by state. Best of luck

I would not call this a regular occurrence, but prices change daily, over the years I've kicked myself several times for coming back to book later only to find a higher price on particular destination. If it's really cheap it's worth booking on the spot.....

Short answer yes you must name the child as your companion, keep in mind SWA limits the number of times you can change your designated companion on an annual basis

If your intention is to spend time with your family do so in October. You agreed to this when you made the purchase, (Had you spent a bit more on the initial purchase you could have got a complete refund,) but you clearly made a choice to not opt for a refundable fares. Companies have rules Southwest explained this prior to you cancelling your travel plans. When you cancelled your flights this was clearly listed. Why would you expect an exception to a rule that you agreed to? How does this make SWA heartless? I wish you well and if you seriously believe other domestic airlines will be breaking their company policies to placate you best of luck.

"Masked up? Lol the kids are terrified and now they can’t smile or see people smile. We are going to have a whole generation of psychotic adults because of this stupidity." Psychotic Adults? Where is your data to back up this claim? Children take their cues on behavior from their parents' behavior. The apple never falls too far from the tree. Good luck with your anger

1st some of the Bad: My Direct flight to Pensacola was delayed over 4 hours on Tuesday, odd first they cancelled the continuation of the flight to Dallas, and then an hour later said they had to "find another plane." The Good: Flight arrived safely in FL Tuesday night. More Good: I got an email promising me a $100 Luv Voucher for "the Trouble" More Bad: My return Flight to BWI on Friday afternoon 5:15pm was cancelled at about 1:30pm. More Bad: 1st available flight was Sat @1040 via MCI to BWI @08:05pm. More Good: I left my Phone# and received a call back from SWA Customer Service spot on time wise. I explained I did not see that timing of flights as realistic for success given I would be flying west 2 hours to fly east 3 hours with weather conditions & limited options in Kansas City for rebooking that late in the day. More Good and The Not so Ugly: The SWA Rep was very friendly and helpful but we could not find a more practical path back to BWI Saturday, so I booked a flight on Delta. and assured her I would be using my "credit" next week. Which I have booked. This is one of the reasons I use SWA.

Just curious, Are you riding in this wagon? If not checking it before security might be easier? If you're carrying valuables in the wagon I suggest carrying them on your person.

Exactly, an unfortunate and expensive decision. Definitely a self-inflicted penalty. This is not SWA's fault or responsibility. You really have no case with Chase Bank or the BBB. Sending Fedex letters of protest regarding a personal choice to upgrade a ticket seems pointless. Best of luck on trying to secure compensation after the flight was completed

I don't know about getting wings, but I recommend: -make sure the kids are masked up -chat up the flight attendants, explain your kids' excitement and anxiousness, -ask nicely if a cabin crew member is available? Being understanding if the flight is full and or delayed Remember the crew is there to do their assigned jobs and deliver you and your family safely to your destination, not entertain you. best of luck

If they can fill planes to and from a given city they will beat path to get gate space at the local airport. If they can't project a reasonable profit it just isn't going to happen🙁. I remember when SWA flew to Key West, but they scrapped that destination 5 or 6 years ago, just couldn't fill the planes

So sorry to hear of your troubles, that being said I am unclear how a single adult can effectively travel with 3 children under 7 years old( 2 of them small enough to require being carried). This sounds like a self inflicted recipe for a lot of heart ache. I wish you the best in the future.

It's sad to hear your experience. I too have had some service challenges flying SWA in the last several months. They have all been reasonably resolved. It seems clear you've given up on SWA, "blowing up the board" on a customer to customer forum is pointless and waste of your energy. Best of luck to you in the future and I wish you safe travels

Sorry for your frustrations, flying from the west coast to the east coast is often challenging on SWA since there are no red eyes. For future reference you may want to book transcon flights, 1.) with as early a departure time as possible and 2.) through Midway Airport so if there is an issue you are at an airport with many SWA flights going to East Coast Airports.

I understand your frustration A good rule of thumb to remember, Airlines are tenants at the airports they fly to. They are not in charge of the airport property. Maybe try arriving earlier and as frustrating as this sounds, plan on waiting.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, this is a customer to customer forum. I offer you some advice. If you travel by air, book flights in the morning, fly direct, and fly from a "Hub" airport. Hub meaning that a particular airline has multiple flights through out any particular day. I live close to a regional airport but ALWAYS drive to the nearest major airport for personal and business trips. Why? Because it is important to me to be prepared for the unexpected. Good luck in the future
