In order to utilize the loophole and complete a transfer, both people involved with the transfer need to have a Rapid Rewards account. Simply have the person who does not have an account sign up for one, then use the loophole.

@floridaguy both responses that suggested contacting Southwest also included "That's wonderful, thank you for sharing" and "Glad to hear it!"
Your suggestion that the OP's post was not met with enthusiasm is completely wrong.

Sending them away to another venue did not fit with their original message.
Redirecting the OP to contact Southwest fits the original message 100% when the statement "I hope Southwest recognizes you for your great work ethic and attitudes." is included in their post.
@floridaguy your posts continue to provide 0% value.

Buy the upgraded boarding at 24 hours prior to departure. That is the best little "secret" and I've yet to have that plan be ruined by a full Business Select group.
Also, just to clarify, your companion isn't getting a Wanna Get Away or Anytime fare, they are getting a Companion fare so you can't look at it in terms of switching fares or perks based on fare type.

That's wonderful, thank you for sharing. Since this is a customer to customer forum it would be great if you wrote to Southwest directly so they can recognize the crew. Use the contact us link at the bottom of this page and send a message, be sure to include specific information about your flight date, time, flight number, etc.

Boarding position is assigned 36 hours prior to departure, but you still need to retrieve your boarding pass sometime within 24 hours of departure. When you check-in and get your boarding pass has no affect on your boarding position because you purchased EarlyBird.

It appears Southwest is not currently accepting unsolicited requests for donations. You can read more about their charity work here: https://www.southwest.com/donations/
As there is a cost to transfer RR points from one person to another I suspect it will not be a very popular idea for individuals to send points to you. Perhaps someone has a voucher they are not interested in using, those can be transferred.

. I don't know if it's because I'm also an ALister or not, but I love it and thank SWA for the change.
A-List members will receive sequential boarding for all individuals on the same reservation. All receive the A-List boarding position benefit.
A Companion Pass holder and their associated companion will receive sequential boarding. If either is A-List, both receive the A-List boarding position benefit.
All other individuals who manually check in are all checked in together and receive sequential boarding when on the same reservation. This applies to EarlyBird purchaser's too as EBCI cannot be purchased for just one individual on a multi passenger reservation.
@floridaguy not much to "iron out", it's all pretty clear and designed to enable families to board together.

All benefits should be available to you immediately. You can view what benefits you have used and what is still available in your Chase account on chase.com. If you click on your account, then click the "more" option you will see "Rewards Dashboard". It will show how many credits you have available. I do not see where you can see this info in the app, only on the website.

As purchased points don't actually come from Southwest, but rather a 3rd party company, I'm not sure contacting Southwest is going to do much. Sadly, I don't see an alternate contact that could actually help. Hopefully the points show up soon!

@Shannonganley1 you didn't specify the process you followed to try to get the credits so I'll start with that to make sure you are going to the correct area.... Log into your account on southwest.com, then go to My Account, then Rapid Rewards. If you scroll down a bit you'll see a section "Request past flight points". Enter your 6 character confirmation number there. You may have problems if the name from the flight does not exactly match the name on your RR account, including middle name or if the birthday is different. There is a link there to more info about retrieving the receipt for your flight so you can compare the info if needed. If there is a mismatch in info you can try calling, but in the past when I had a similar problem it was no go, they couldn't force it through. It's worth a call though to see if you can get it. Phone number can be found in the contact us link at the bottom of this page.

Perhaps it will take a few days to get everything running normally, but not months.

An older thread also mentioned it was like this in Costa Rica. I've experienced it at PVR and agree it is not the most pleasant way to board.

@Michael1971 You've provided no reason for the cancellation. I'm suspecting weather as there has been some bad weather recently. If that's the case, there is no compensation from Southwest or any other airline. Some credit cards do cover delays like this so you may want to look at that possibility depending on how you paid for the flight. As far as getting you home sooner, there are only so many seats available and every passenger affected by the cancellation needs to be placed on an available seat. Sometimes that means it may take a day or two to get an available seat, especially if you have a group of 4 and are going somewhere with a small number of flights.
Basically, this issue could have happened on any airline so I wish you the best of luck with future flights.

@floridaguy it's always funny when you provide some site that actually proves you are wrong. There is a big difference between asking for ID and being obligated to show ID. As stated in the link you provided, when asked to provide ID, an individual can ask if they are being detained, and if not, leave, all without showing ID. Just the act of being asked for ID violates no rights. How you and the asking party act afterwards is what may or may not be legal.
Just like I can ask you to stop posting stuff you know nothing about, you (unfortunately) have the right to ignore me.
Connecting this to the original post, the individual was asked for ID. They could have asked if they were being detained, and if not, left the scene without providing ID. The officer asking them for ID was completely legal and the individual walking away if they were not being detained would also be legal.

I would agree that the behavior is suspicious. However, asking for ID upon leaving the plane is something that violates our constitutional rights.
There is nothing illegal about asking for identification. In California you do not have to provide ID if asked, but to say the act of being asked for ID violates your rights is 100% incorrect.

To provide a more thorough answer to your question, assuming you are planning to have the child be a lap child, you get one carry-on bag and one personal item. The diaper bag would count as an item and is not exempt from the baggage policy so to ensure quick and easy boarding it is suggested that you somehow combine these three items down to two
-1 small carry on suitcase
-1 personal bag for carry on
-1 diaper bag
OR... since you are gate checking the stroller, go ahead and gate check the small carry-on suitcase too. That would get you under the limit of one carry-on iten and one personal item.
The baby carrier isn't going to be counted.
Having said all that, if the child has their own ticket then you actually get 2 carry-on items and 2 personal items so there's no problem with your original plan.
Hopefully that's clearer than previous information you've received. Enjoy your flight!
