If you end up going back to the gate and have a long delay then maybe. I had a bird strike in Lubbock a few years a go on landing my next flight was delayed (same plane) while they did maintenance and the gate agent issued everyone a $200 voucher for the 2.5 hour delay.

Everyone wants to be first on the plane and will try and break every rule to do so. It is time for the gate agents to be held accountable. I would like to see an instant messaging feature on the app that lets you report some of this as it is happening so that there can be an instant response from Southwest before passengers are irritated.
If the instant message and reporting were added, the gate agents would do their jobs properly.
It’s called the “contact us” link at the bottom of southwest.com or this website

I know around 5pm southwest had some website/rapid rewards issues you might try again and if the issue persists reach out to southwest by phone 800-435-9792 or on Twitter
also if changing a point’s reservation be sure your logged in to the account where the points came from.

You can have up to 2 vouchers/credits per person plus the credit card. If you have a 3rd credit it must cover the rest of the cost of the reservation in order to use 3 credits on the reservation. I’m not 100% certain if it will let you use the 3rd credit on a multiple passenger reservation though
Are you booking a round trip flight? If so my easiest solution is book as 2 one ways instead this way you get 2 credits per person each way

Personally though I’d rather have the $39 sale as this isn’t as good as previous years $70 each way AUS-DAL instead of $29-$49 same with a bunch of other routes. Oh well at least it’s better than $129-$173

Maybe the gate agent needs to be retrained?
This has nothing to do with the ops agent (technically what they are called). They line up people and scan the passes A B C they aren’t going to go police the 2 lines to board the plane because the back line is shorter than the front line and someone might go to the shorter line when everyone had that same opportunity to go to the front or back. If the ops agent stops and waits for all As or Bs to board before starting the next group the process would be slowed down
here’s another example the TSA line sometimes lane 2 moves faster than lane 1 doesn’t mean I should be treated like royalty because the other guy who got in lane 2 after me got helped before me. I chalk it up to oh well I chose the wrong lane.
now if you were in line at the front and they had the back line closed until later in the boarding process sure I could see a complaint but they have both doors open throughout the boarding process when they board this way
for me when I go to an airport that does this boarding I always go to the back because the front has the wheelchair folks so they need more time to get settled where the back keeps on flowing unless you get a family which sometimes they take a min to get in the row but it goes back to sometimes you choose right other times you don’t
I’m glad the OP shared their feedback with the airline and I’m glad they helped them with a LUV voucher (a generous one that is) but in my opinion the ops agent did the job just fine and how fast lane 1 vs 2 goes is not what they get paid to police.

Yes but I think there is a small cost like taxes.
my old coworker is now a FA here at Southwest she gave a coworker of mine a buddy pass she paid $40 each way however on a buddy pass your not top priority and that means you could be bumped if the flight is full. My coworker just used her pass last week and she was actually moved to a different flight because it was full and on the return she got the last seat because someone missed the connection otherwise she would have been moved again
so my advice with buddy passes have the employee check seats on flights and TRAVEL EARLY and be FLEXIBLE

Hi! Question related to this promotion. Do you need to fly by September 30 or book a flight by September 30?
Your would’ve booked a flight (2 one ways or a RT) on 43-4/5 for travel by the deadline you will receive the companion pass in August valid for travel through September 30th meaning travel must be completed by that deadline for the companion pass to apply.
coming back after the deadline book 2 one ways that way on the outbound flight you can use the companion pass and just pay for the return

I’ve never heard of a boarding position changing after check in unless you do the upgraded boarding where you go from B or C to A1-15 for the fee.
Was this a connection flight and maybe you saw one flight and the companion saw a different flight? Or just a miss read

How about if you bring your dog it acts up or does harm to someone you ban that customer from brining dogs on a future flight because usually the dogs behavior comes from its owner. A dog owner who trains its dog to behave and doesn’t tolerate bad behavior will act better than the owner who wants the dog to be a fighter and act up same goes for kids on planes it all goes back to the parenting (parenting a dog vs a kid)

I think one problem is some people including crew *could* see larger dogs as a threat or aggressive dog especially if they bark. It could become a safety issue should a dog get on the loose inflight which could lead to a diversion for medical treatment. Sure it may not happen on all flights but if the dog isn’t contained in a carrier then it could be a problem with why the policy is small dogs and cats

Has Southwest had issues lately YES I’ll agree with that then again no airline is perfect. A 28min delay is nothing if you can’t survive your day with a 28min delay you should probably get a private jet
You mention you have companion pass does delta have that (for any flight you take not a choice benefit that has no restrictions?)
delta charges you to use your benefits. meaning instead of buying the cheapest flight you have to pay at least $30 more to go from Basic economy to Economy just to get your free preferred seats or chance at an upgrade or on some airlines just to get points
delays EVERY AIRLINE HAS THEM and yes I have had quite a few with Southwest lately but I’ve also had a bunch with Delta, spirit, Frontier, United it’s just apart of air travel if you travel enough to have a companion pass you would know that and then you should know to allow for at least a 4 hour window before a meeting because you should always expect the unexpected your better off having an hour to relax in a hotel before a meeting instead of losing a job because you book a meeting an hour after your scheduled arrival
meltdowns: yes southwest had a big one however Delta has had them as well but to me the difference in how Delta and SW handled their meltdowns was very different. Sw: refunded all of my reasonable expenses Delta: sleep in ATL and a week after they recovered here is a $200 voucher for a 3 day delay
Wi-Fi: yes Southwest is behind I’m A List preferred so Wi-Fi is free for me and yes it was awful in the last few years however I have seen improvement not perfect yet but installing new equipment takes time.
in seat power: a new Hawaii themed aircraft just started service recently it was the first to get in seat power it takes time to install that on old aircraft’s because they have to take planes out of service to do that and the few hours overnight isn’t enough time to do hundreds of airplanes
45min turn: I’ve been on full flights that have done 30min turns 700 series aircraft’s they usually do the turn in 35min 800/max is usually 45min. Aircraft swaps can mess that up as well as any maintenance or boarding delays
why i choose SW over the other guys: 2 free checked bags NO CREDIT CARD WITH THE AIRLINE REQUIRED. No BS to earn points or use my status (basic economy nonsense). When I have an issue a simple tweet or email and usually an apology and voucher or solution such as rebooking in minimal time.
here is what I would do send a nice email to the airline explaining the issues you have had allow them to try and make it right. Major delays include the confirmation number that way they can review and possibly issue a voucher. Airlines and companies can only improve if the customers like you and me share the feedback. Will all of your problems be fixed overnight NO and you shouldn’t expect that but hopefully by sharing feedback it will help them to improve as time goes on. Before you say they don’t care or don’t listen think about the Wi-Fi and in seat power lots of people sent feedback and look those issues are being addressed (slowly yes but still being addressed)
I may be on here a lot but look I’m a customer just like you and I’ve had my share of issues lately as well I just think Southwest cares about the customer more than other airlines during IROPS once they are made aware and given the chance to make it right.

If you booked as a one way flight it should check all the way prior to Covid SW didn’t sell layovers over 4 hours but on a normal reservation you can’t check a bag more than 4 hours before your flight so hopefully your bag will go though without the recheck but as mentioned I would check with the agent when checking the bag to make sure it goes all the way
another way to verify is look at the bag tag and make sure the city listed is your final destination
if you don’t know your destination airport code you can always ask

EB just reserved you a boarding spot you could still end up with a B or C group. Personally I’d rather pay $30-$50 for the one way to get in the A 1-15 that way I can ensure a better seat or check in at 24 hour mark if it’s a low B don’t waste the money on the upgraded boarding either.
