I've never seen an alert to check in only an alert telling my my position is A34 for flight 123 and I think the only reason I get that alert is because I'm A List and automatically checked in. One of my friends (who's not A List) flew today and the 2 alerts they got were 1 saying the airport will be busy to arrive early and the 2nd saying now boarding flight 123 I do think a it's time to check in push notification or your flight is delayed notification would be nice though because not everyone stares at the app all day to see if a delay occurred. Best bet is to submit your feedback to Southwest directly though. -Blake

And that's why I said if you wait a few weeks they will fix it manually. These schedule changes are done by a computer well as we know computers aren't perfect so now the human is having to fix the computers errors. Wait times are long on the phone that's why I say to keep trying on social if this change is urgent. -Blake

When this happens southwest will do your schedule change manually. This may take a few weeks but they will get you rebooked on a real flight. If you don't want to wait you can reach out to Southwest on Facebook or Twitter in a DM or you can use the chat feature on the southwest app. -Blake

How far in advance are you trying to add EB check in? You can only add it up to 36 hours before your flight. If your flight is within the next 36 hours you won't be able to add it to your flight if you have a return flight you can add it to that. Tickets are non transferable so you would need to cancel your sons friend and they would have travel funds they can use for up to a year from when you bought that ticket. Next you would go and by the other persons ticket at the current price. There is no way to swap the names on the ticket -Blake

Yes buying one ways can be helpful when it comes to using travel funds and cash I do this to avoid these situations as well. Sorry you have to lose so much time to use your funds After you funds expire you could request an extension and they can issue a voucher for the funds minus $100 you would need to Contact Customer Relations to request this and the voucher would be valid for 6 months. -Blake

In air travel delays happen on every airline. WiFi breaks on every airline. I was 2 days late on Delta thanks to a maintenance issue and I've also been 5 days late on Southwest thanks to a winter storm in Texas (not SW's fault) it's life. Now how each airline handled the delays made the difference that's why I stick with Southwest. As already mentioned you should contact customer relations as they are the department who handles past flight issues. Yes you can combine them with just a little work You would book a flight that you don't intend on taking using 2 or 3 of the travel funds as long as the funds cover the whole flight. Once booked cancel that flight and use that confirmation number with 2 more travel funds and book another flight and cancel it. Now do it one more time to get the 6th fund and cancel you would have 6 funds combined in to 1. Keep in mind if 1 fund expires earlier than the others the new booking will take on the earliest expiration date so when it comes to requesting the voucher you can do that up to 6 months after the travel funds expire so combining could affect your date to request by. Example: You start with 6 confirmation numbers (ABCDE&F) Use Travel fund A B and C to book a flight and cancel Use confirmation X (from just booked and cancelled flight) and confirmation numbers D & E to book a 2nd flight and cancel Now use confirmation Y (from 2nd cancelled flight) and confirmation F (your 6th travel fund) to book a 3rd flight and cancel. You will now have confirmation Z which combines ABCDEF Hopefully this helps and makes sense -Blake

Yes the weather was nice in San Antonio today (hot but nice finally) Thursday not so nice. Anyways where you were going may not have had nice weather or maybe the plane needed to go out of service and that may have caused your flight to be cancelled. Flight delays and cancellations happen all the time (yes last minute too) airlines can't predict weather, crew problems, or maintenance issues days,weeks, and months in advance. Your best bet is to reach out to Southwest as suggested that way they can look in to what happened with your flight. I've flown in and out of San Antonio many times and have always had great service even when our flight arrives late like this past Monday at 2am they still greeted us with a smile. -Blake

So based on the information You provided I'm guessing you were flying on a Saturday in October. If that is the case You could do the flight at 2:25pm where it stops in Nashville with no plane change and your parents can board and you would all connect in Dallas so in your case it would be a 2 stop 1 plane change flight but at least you would be on the same flight from Nashville together and the Dallas to San Jose together. Sure in this case you can't help in Nashville but you could save a seat for your family -Blake

Looks like it's a great time to bring this back to the top since Southwest is modifying its schedule for September and October. If your flight is changed you can make a one time change on the app or website with no fare difference (as long as the flight is within 14 days and city pairs remain the same) For complex reservations you can try the chat feature on the app or reach out to southwest on Facebook or Twitter.
