The report shows up as "closed" by default? Glad you caught this post to point this out @bec102896 hopefully @tkub64 can get some additional response. The last time I had a lost bag it didn’t show up as closed right away it took a few days this time it was showing as closed within 24 hours (not sure if it was automatically marked closed) maybe next time I’ll look as soon as the report is filed. This time they knew my bag was in Orlando so I wonder if that had to do with it since they knew where it was.

@tkub64 I'm sorry to hear your luggage is missing its never fun to have a lost bag. On the website you provided (for claims) there should be an option for you to send a message which should reopen the case (it did for me anyways when my bag went missing this past week). my case showed closed after the claim was filed but once I sent a message I got a phone call and case was reopened and they handled the compensation though there as well. As @DancingDavidE said this is a customer to customer forum so reaching out to customer relations would be your best bet if sending a message through the claim site doesn't work. Hope your bag is returned to you soon! Blake

I'm the one who takes the longest route to get where I am going because i LUV the freedom and adventure of traveling on a plane. @DancingDavidE has seen some of my crazy routes one example AUS DTW MCO just about 2 weeks a go 😂 But back to the question I believe you should have no problem getting seats together at B7 and B17 (unless there are a ton of thru passengers on your connection flight and a lot of pre boarders/family boarders) -Blake

@micqueli If the price of your new flight goes down the difference in fare on the paid tickets will be held as travel funds under the confirmation number for that flight and those funds expire 1 year from when you originally purchased your flight. Those funds can only be used by the passenger(s) on this reservation the funds are non transferable. If a points ticket goes down when changing your flight the points will go back to the rapid rewards account that purchased the ticket. Hope this helps Blake

I personally have not heard of parents being able to use a childs travel funds. As they mentioned on Twitter I recommend you reach out to customer relations at 855-234-4654 and maybe they could make an exception but I believe they stand very strong on the funds remain with the passenger policy If you get a good result from calling feel free to share here -Blake

You could go to the full service line and show your ID and they can print it for you along with checking any bags 3. You can see a skycap agent (where avalible) if your being dropped off and its usually pretty quick. Personally I like the self service kiosk as it is quick and easy. After all of these flights in the past several years, I still have yet to use the new self-service tag and drops - I'm always either using curbside or head on in for full-service for whatever reason. I like the full service because I like the human interaction and that way I don't mess up the baggage tag 😂. If I just need the boarding pass then the kiosk is great if the mobile pass is not available for some reason.

“Under review” means your application was received and someone from Southwest is looking over your application. Keep watching your email in case a recruiter reaches out. If the status says “closed/ complete” then that would mean the position was filled or unfortunately you were not selected to move forward in the hiring process. Hope this helps Blake

Do you take advantage of Southwest Group Reservations’s? It's for groups of 10 or more and one nice benefit with a group reservation is you can Earn one roundtrip ticket to be used on your Group's itinerary for every 30th passenger booked (taxes and fees will apply). Also with group reservations it does offer a discount off of the current wanna get away fare for that particular flight. You can read read more about Southwest Airlines Group Travel Here -Blake

I've used the chat option a few times and I LUV it!! When MAX8 first had its cancellations I used chat got through in 2min vs the 2 hour hold then call drop (as was reported by others) and problem solved in 8min so 10min vs forever. Now if they would expand it to the website for those who dont use the app I think it would be great. Glad it worked for you as well!

Just wanted to add you can book the extra seat at a child fare but you would need to call reservations to get the child fare and as @DancingDavidE said you would be able to request the refund after travel is complete.

@DancingDavidE wrote: @basslaw2010 wrote: Just remember that vouchers do not cover taxes. Good point, so you'd need to use two vouchers plus a cash equivalent option - thanks for adding that! I heard If you book a flight with a LUV voucher then cancel and request a refund of the original taxes the other funds would be held under the travel fund (confirmation number) so when you rebook for combining with the other LUV vouchers it would count that travel fund as cash so if your flight was $100 and you had a $100 flight you could actually pay $0 you would have an initial charge for taxes then when you cancel and rebook it would be refunded (if you do it within 24 hours)

@Zipfactory I agree with you 100%! Being patient and nice is key the airline doesn’t want to cancel these flights and alter others but they kind of have no choice. Screaming and whining to a rep on the phone, getting mad at the rep on Twitter, or bashing the airline online for something out of Southwest’s control will not help or fix anything. Thank you for being so understanding I know the airline appreciates it! Blake

@AN90 Prices will vary based on each flights availability. The airline has only so many tickets at a set price (fare class) and once they are gone the price will go up to the next fare class. Also if a bunch of people are flying to the connection city that can affect the price. for example AUS to MCO there could be a one stop no change in HOU and another one stop no change an hour later in DAL the flight to HOU could be full while the flight to DAL is not full making the DAL one stop no change cheaper Hope this helps Blake

@Tankstank Sorry to hear your flight is delayed. Delays are not fun but they happen. If you would like to discuss your flight delay with Southwest you can reach out on Twitter or click on the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page to see more contact methods. Hope your on your way soon! Blake

@Masoodmem I’m sorry your flight was affected by the MAX 8 grounding. I as another customer was affected as well but I know this is out of Southwest's control they didn't wake up in March and say let’s cancel over 100 flights a day and inconvenience a lot of people. The grounding of the MAX 8 was out of Southwest's control which is why they aren’t issuing compensation. If you are not satisfied with your new itinerary you are able to make 1 change to your reservation free of charge. I recommend you look at the schedule and see if any other flights exist that would be better for you and then you can change online or by phone.

@dfwskier wrote: You mentioned Hawaii in an ealier post. I would expect that a fair number of people are burning RR points to Hawaii. Those that have a fair number of RR points are more likely to be A-List. Thus I would expect more A-Listers on those flights, which would make EBCI boarding positions "worse" than average, but still better than those that check themselves in. On both my flight to HNL and from HNL I was at worst position A19 as A List (not preferred) and not many people wanted the exit rows.

@grubplug410 I recommend you apply now as the job may not be available for applications if you wait that long. If you get a call after applying just tell the recruiter you have a trip planned then and I’m sure they could try and work with you. I notice jobs don’t stay posted for a long time as a lot of people want to work for Southwest and they get a ton of applications. -Blake

@Sharontraul You can standby for an earlier flight with connection(s) but when you are cleared for the 1st flight you may not be cleared form the connection flight so you will want to make sure there are seats on the connection flight as you will then be on standby for the 2nd flight. You will know if your cleared by the boarding pass they give you it will either be a standby pass (no boarding position or a boarding pass with position) if you get a standby pass check in at the counter when you get to your new next gate and let them know your there in case they cannot clef you right then. Here is what I recommend you do before you take the risk on standby with a connection flight: use the mobile app, Southwest.com, or the mobile site and search your flight as if you wanted to book another seat but search 8 people (the maximum number of passengers you can book on one reservation) and see if it still shows available seats. I usually do this the day before I want to do a standby with connection reservation and I do it as I am pulling up to the airport before putting myself on standby as inventory may have changed. If I see 8 seats available then I will proceed with standby. If checking bags they usually wont transfer bags checked at the ticket counter so I would do carry on bags only when doing standby. When you are cleared at the gate for the flight you could check your bag at that point if you wanted to. Also if your doing standby on a full flight they may not clear you until 10min before the flight so you will probably have a middle seat as you will miss your priority boarding opportunity and most everyone else would be boarded. Hope this helps Blake

@edneumann I personally haven't noticed any major points changes. I did look up CLE to MCO and see several dates where tickets start at 3,991 each way. I do believe with the MAX grouding that is taking a toll on the number of cheap tickets available because of all the rerecommendations which is taking away the what would have been cheaper flights. Also Orlando is a popular destination so that could affect why points on dates you want to go are higher. The best thing to do if your travel dates are flexible is to check out the Low Fare Calendar so you can hopefully grab those cheaper flights. -Blake
