Also I would recommend if you will take the 1pm flight that you have a confirmed reservation on that flight as opposed to the earlier flight that you might miss because otherwise if you are hoping to standby on the 1pm flight it could be sold out resulting in a later arrival. The airline recommends arriving 2 hours before your flight to allow you time to check bags and go through security if you are not checking bags I would still arrive an hour and half before the flight because you will need to go through security and the plane boards 30min before the flight and could leave early usually up to 10min before the flight and if you miss the flight you would be considered a NO SHOW and your flight reservation (including return trips) would be canceled and you would lose all funds (if you booked the wanna getaway fare) also 40min is risky because if the LRT has a delay you would miss your flight and most likely you would be standby on the next flight. hope this helps Blake

@ILV2fly to add to what the @TheMiddleSeat said once you use a voucher on a person (yourself or a friend) those funds are then a travel fund and non transferable they will stay with that person. Hope this helps Blake

If you were to book a flight with the voucher your flight would take the expiration date of the voucher. The best thing to do is see if someone else in your family or a friend needs to fly before the expiration date and give it to them or you can wait until it expires and reach out to customer relations and they might be able to re issue for a fee which I have heard from some saying is $100 so if you have a $200 voucher they may be able to issue you a voucher for $100 and you would have 6 months to use that voucher but that is not guaranteed and I hear is on a case by case basis. Hope this helps Blake

You can check the status of your flight on the southwest mobile app or on the website by clicking on flight status starting the day before your flight. If your flight is canceled for some reason you should get an email or text message to the email or phone number you provided when booking your flight. If your flight is canceled they will help you with re booking at the airport or over the phone. Odds are your flight won't be canceled though. hope this helps Blake

The best thing to do is give southwest a call at 800-435-9792 and they can make the change for you no problem without needing to cancel and the difference in points would go back to the rapid rewards account. if you cancel the ticket the points go back in to your account within seconds from all of my past experiences just a simple log out and log back in to the account but I would make the change just to make sure you have a seat because if you cancel and go to re book the new flight could change prices for your ticket and that would be bad if you don't have the points difference to re book. Hope this helps Blake

Hello so what you are looking at doing is a RT in a day or a point to point (one way and return to different city) i have booked these point to point flights several several times and RT in a day and it has counted as 2 flights not one. One example on Saturday I flew AUS to PHX RT in a day and I got 2 flight credits towards A List i have also done flights where I book AUS HOU MCO (point to point) in the same day and it has counted as 2 flights however doing it this way with a layover over 4 hours will require you to check bags in again and the airline doesn't recommend doing point to point with a short layover (under 4 hours) because if you get a delay you may be considered a no show on the other part of the reservation. Also I have noticed when I tried to book a point to point last week it gave me an error message at check out saying the seats at the selected fare are no longer available so I think southwest is catching on to point to point bookings under 4 hours and blocking some of them. If your booking a RT in a day or go today return the next day I would book as one ways so you can check in for the return without issue. buying EB would fix the issue on the return check in as southwest only allows so many boarding passes at once. Also it is only charging the EB fee once as it is acting like a connecting flight from my past experience. But 2 hours in between can be risky I always do closer to 4 and since I am A List if I get to the first destination n time or early I will go standby on an earlier flight If available. If you have any further questions about point to point (multi city reservations) please let me know and I'll be glad to help! Hope this helps Blake

To earn a companion pass you must earn 110,000 rapid rewards points or fly 100 one way flights. It's important to note when you fly on points tickets those don't count towards the 100 one way flights. If you use points on a ticket that won't take away from the points tracker on earning the companion pass but it won't count towards the flights either. So for example if you end up at 109,000 points you would need to earn 1000 more points before the end of the year or if you have 99 flights and book a points ticket you would still need 1 paid flight before the end of the year if that makes sense. Also you can't use your points to buy a companion pass. Hope this helps Blake

It's also important to note that A List members are checked in before Early Bird people and there is no limit to the number of people who can buy the EB check in so 100 people could buy it and have 25 A listers plus pre boarders and Business select and that would fill a plane with people who bought EB check in as an example situation. I am A List and I had a flight where I was B15 that's because there were 70 A List members going from AUS to DAL so it is possible and that would not be a scam Just a rare situation Blake

Hello the best thing to do is check in at the 24 hour mark before the flight using the confirmation number and usually it will give you numbers in order like A50-60 or B3-29 as a couple examples sometimes people may get split based on other checking in at the same time but usually you will be together since you will be on one confirmation number. Usually I would recommend EB check in for groups but since you did book through southwest group reservations you can't add EB check in. So as long as you check in at the 24 hour mark you should be able to get a good set of boarding number for seats near each other now you may not all be together you should be able to get several rows towards the back but there are no assigned seats. It's also possible that some may get A boarding while others get B just tell those with A to save some seats. Hope this helps Blake

Hello i know they were allowing deplaning from the back of the aircraft at some airports such as Burbank I am not sure if it is still done that way or not but it definitely was a quicker way to get off of the plane. i am sure if they tried to make a policy on deplaning it would not be followed as so many people think they are the king or queen and they will try to rush off the plane and some try and run others over. They say they are required to pick up all service items and if it is sitting on your tray table they will usually make you throw it away if they see it when saying to put your tray table up when it is the final decent. although I had a unopened can of Dr.Pepper I put in my back pack and took it off the plane without any problems a couple of days a go I do it with snacks a lot too in case I get hungry on a layover or some other time during the day. I don't see outlets coming anytime soon to Southwest's planes if they come at all it would be many years out. my suggestion is to bring your device fully charged and if you use the device in the airport use it while on the charger as most devices should last the whole flight unless it's the 6 hour flight such as EWR to SAN but after a few hours of staring at a computer I figure that would make a person tired and want to take a nap as @TheMiddleSeat suggested. If you have a layover you could charge it while waiting on the connecting flight as well. Blake

Southwest does not have a policy on saving seats so there is not much the flight attendant can do about the situation. Sure I wish a policy did exists but I don't see that coming anytime soon Also some people may be thru passengers from the previous flight so that person may be in the bathroom or something which is why a seat may be saved but 6 seats that is a lot. Personally if someone is saving the seat I want I will watch to see if a person sits there and if they don't I'll move if I feel like it (for leg room in most cases I will but a couple rows closer to the front I just stay) Blake

With that being said if you could please edit your post to remove your phone number and flight confirmation number this is for your own protection. Thanks Blake

@CharityMciver45 The best thing to do is set up a profile on the southwest careers website that way you can check and see when they post the next flight attendant opening but at this time there is no way for me to send you the application and you won't be able to apply until the position is available as that is southwests policy. with this being said if you could please edit your post to remove your email address that is for your own protection. In the past you had to be a SW credit card holder to get access to the more rewards now anyone can use it for gift cards and merchandise but only credit card holders can use the more rewards for international travel, rental cars, and hotels. I personally would not use my points on the gift cards because I get a better value on southwest tickets for example a $100 SW gift card through more rewards is 13,500 points I can get a points ticket valued at about $200 for 13,500 points still a cool option though for people who want to get to get gift cards for people. Hello I would recommend getting the bulk head seats as there is more leg room so you can stick your feet out a little bit more you may not have a tray table though as that depends on the plane I have seen some bulk head seats with tables that fold out of the arm rest while other planes that don't have a table if that makes a difference for you. Also be sure to talk to the ticket counter about pre boarding I would recommend you do that and then you would not need to pay for an upgrade. If you can't preboard for whatever reason then I would pay for the upgraded boarding (for 1 of you) which is sold at the gate if available to get you A1-15 ($30-$50 depending on flight) and then you could save a seat for your mom. Hope this helps Blake

Hello Because you are flying from a hub I would buy the Early Bird I say this because a lot of SW connections do go through Chicago so flights tend to be fuller and that would help your boarding position. Now it is important to note that by purchasing the EB check in there is the chance you won't get an A boarding pass but your chances are better when buying EB check in. If you were flying from somewhere like Lubbock then I would not buy EB check in unless your going with a big group as it doesn't have as many connections (only 2-3) compared to Chicago that has a ton. Hope this helps Blake

Hello i am personally not sure how long it takes as i am sure it depends on the person and job and how many others want to cross train or move up the job chain and who have seniority. Are you a current employee? If so I do believe the best thing to do is to talk to your supervisors and let them know hey I would like to learn this and maybe move up to that position that way they could try to train you so if a position opens up they can say here you go. Now if you don't want to change jobs just say I am willing to help if needed in other positions as I am sure they can always use someone if a person calls in. hope this helps Blake

Hello i would recommend calling customer relations at 855-234-4654 or messaging them on Twitter If you didn't finish the trip say you booked AUS to MCO by way of HOU If you didn't take the connecting flight you may not be get points since the travel was not complete according to the actual reservation but if you call or message on Twitter they can look and see about getting you the points. From personal experience I had a time where I didn't take the connecting flight and I didn't get the points because the flight was not complete when I called I was told I won't get credit since travel was not completed. Hope this helps Blake

Hello i think they do the 4 hours because if It sits around longer maybe it's more of a chance it gets misplaced or if a bad apple gets a hold of your bag and goes though it (hopefully that doesn't happen). although I do wish I could check a bag before the 4 hours in that case but I think the policy is just to protect your bag. Another idea is If your bag doesn't have liquids you could carry it past security and check it later or if you are traveling with multiple people and want food from past security send one person through to get food and bring it out while the others wait with the bags if one of you have pre check or the fly by lane I would send that person as you can go through security more than once even though it may be a hassle. hope this helps Blake
