Are you using an older iPhone? Is your SW up to date? I am not familiar with this error, but you might use the mobile website as an alternative. If you don't have the latest iOS, you might update your phone to resolve.

@SWDigits provided all the official SW info! Out of personal experience, I would add.... SW makes travelling with kids pretty easy! Just this week, we had our first trip as a family of four. We had traveling as a family of three down pat, and adding one more was honestly not that bad. We checked both car seats and one suitecase at check in. You def want to get a bag for your car seat, and you can find them on Amazon for pretty cheap, and I find you can get better quality there than with SW's bag. I would recommend checking the car seat at check in simply because it is less to carry. We gate checked our (very large) double stroller. You will have to get a gate check tag on it, so be sure to stop by and get one from the gate agent before boarding. You will leave the stroller at the end of the jet bridge and collect it when you get off the plane on the jet bridge. I recommend gate checking the stroller simply because (in my opinion) there is less chance for it to be damaged going thru all the baggage system, and it is nice to have it as you go thru the airport. Since the child is a lap child under two, be sure to bring a copy of his/her birth certificate, you can board either in your normal boarding position (if you are in the A group) or during family boarding (after the A group before B starts boarding). Good luck!

It is fully up to Chase to notify SW about your completion of the requirements. Even though you put your RR# on the application, I would verify with Chase to make sure they have the right number. It does sound strange that two statements have closed without things posting to your SW account. There also may be others on the community here who could give you the timelines they experienced for everything posting.

Use Community Champions often encourage flyers to reach out to SW via Twitter when you need to discuss something with SW directly. Click here to see why.

To be fair, all your boarding numbers are sequential, so you will board the plane “together.” The C position is the exception. The C person will be the first to board directly after the final B (the rest of your party). In order to all stay together during boarding, you can all board together with the C1 person. I feel quite confident you will be able to find someone who would be willing to move around (if necessary) so that you can sit two and two so the kids are not alone.

Assuming you are flying all domestic, you will not have to go back through security. You will just go from your arriving flight to the gate of your new flight. You can find the gate info in the Southwest app or on the screens in the airport. If you are coming on an international flight, you will have to clear US Customs and Boarder Protection before going to your connecting flight.

Hello, Here are the guidelines for family boarding: "An adult traveling with a child six years old or younger may board during Family Boarding, which occurs after the “A” group has boarded and before the “B” group begins boarding. If the child and the adult are both holding an “A” boarding pass, they should board in their assigned boarding position." This means that if your children are 8 and 10, you all will have to board in your assined boarding positions. A few things to keep in mind: If you all purchased your tickets together at once, there is an extremely high chance that your boarding positions will be together and sequential. Check in as close to 24 hours out as possible to get the best boarding positions. I recommend doing it the moment the close strikes the flight time the day before. You should be able to find seats pretty close together as long as you are -- I would say -- in the B group. If you end up in the C group, ask those around you or the flight attendant for help finding seats together. I am sure others would be willing to move around to help out, but I would recommend trying that in the back quarter of the plane. You could consider purchasing Early Bird for each ticket if you are very concerned about the boarding process. Good luck!

The answers to @bec102896 ?s with provide context for us to help, but when you sign in to your RR accnt, you can book a ticket for anyone. Once you choose the flight options, it will fill in your name as the flyer; you will simply need to change that info to your grandchildren’s info before you finalize the purchase.

Depending on when you search, there are still direct flights available. Airlines do change their routes over time based on focus areas, demand, seasonality, etc. It may be that this is a seasonal route. Keep in mind that Southwest does offer many unique benefits. Although everyone has different needs, it may be worth a connection for the benefits of flexibility and that famous Southwest service. And for some, that may not be true. Either way, happy travels, and keep an eye out. You never know when that direct flight might come back. 🙂

I would use the Contact Us link below to call SW (or 1-800 I Fly SWA) directly and request that be sent. I had to have one once before, and I had the best luck over the phone. Good luck!

I love that there is now a captive portal that pops up when you connect to SouthwestWiFi that directs you to the onboard entertainment and connectivity options pages! In the past, you had to navigate to southwestwifi.com in the browser; that was fine, but non-frequent flyers often do not know that step. The new pop up makes it simpler to get connected. Happy browsing!

You could. Or, you could go ahead and book your trip out and then wait and book your return trip as a separate reservation. The way SW prices their tickets, there is no negative impact to ticketing your trip separately. If the trip out is a good price, I would grab it now. You always have the flexibility to change it later.

You need to have the Southwest app! See more here. I assume you were trying to watch on a tablet? You can install the tablet version of the app. I also think that the app “Airtime Player” is an alternative as well. Note that hat the app can be a little buggy (in my experience) when it comes to movies. If you are having issues, force close the app and try again.

I personally don’t think it would make a difference. The SW gates at ATL are all concentrated on one side of one concourse. It should not take more than a few mins to connect from any one SW gate to another there.

Just to clarify...where you scheduled to fly the 737 MAX 8 or the 737-800? The 800s are not grounded. If you were scheduled to fly the MAX, SW is re-accomodating passengers at no additional cost. See here.

Indeed in the last hour, SW issues a statement and announced accomodations for those impacted by the MAX 8 being pulled from service. See here. As was stated, reach out on Twitter or via the Contact Us link below.

What number are you using? 1-800-I FLY SWA should do it. Also, if you have Twitter, reaching out there is always super helpful; they are the best! I would also expect Nov flights to open within the next 45 days or so. Just a guess based on precedent. I am waiting for them too!!!

Just be certain to actually change your outbound flight! You can’t just skip the first leg and hop on in a Chicago without officially changing your reservation to depart from Chicago.

@dhaigh Thank you for sharing! The passengers who are so quick to cry wolf over pre-boards likely have not experienced having someone close to them with MS, or macular degeneration, or extreme anxiety, etc. As you point out, not all challenges are visible.

I know this struggle as I typically need every flight I can get to qualify! For me, I always pay for my own flights and then reserve the points to use for my family.

I would definitely plan for that being a no. It actually did work for me once (sort of), but it was iffy. And it is technically not allowed (no phone calls).
