A new and exciting concept has popped up at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Those who fly regularly on a particular airline or have no problem paying for the First Class ticket get to experience the VIP airline lounges often. Now, you don’t have to have thousands of miles or thousands of dollars to be treated like a VIP. Greg and I were in Las Vegas last week for the Affiliate Summit and we flew Southwest. What an experience and I had to ask, just why is Southwest airlines so friendly? This is actually as much of a question as it is a statement. Each flight we have been on with Southwest has been a pleasant experience and this one was no exception. Actually, this is only our second trip with Southwest. The first one was back in 1999 to Los Angeles but our experience was just about the same. to read more, visit: http://www.sweetiestraveladventures.com/2010/01/southwest-airlines-review-fly-friendly.html

Southwest has always been my favorite airline. they are the best with customer service than any other airline. Their seats are the most comfortable more leg room that others. And most of all, they do not charge for bags. Bags fly free, is the most money saving and best part about flying Southwest. Please don't ever change and follow the other moruns in the industry.

Dear Southwest Airlines..... I hope you can help me out a bit, my grand daughter Chelsie Smith came from Sacramento Ca. to visit me here in San Diego Ca. three years ago,and as always she flew Southwest. On the flight she was seated next to a young man ... Morgan Phillips, they started a conversation which ended up with the two of them exchanging e mails addresses. Over time they decided to get together for a walk and coffee.... they both lived in the Sacramento area, one thing lead to another and guess what??? they decided to get married this June 26th. in Auburn Ca. at the Powers Mansion at 4pm in the after noon!!!!! The theme for the wedding is.... Airline .... since that is where they met for the first time... I am wondering if you have any of those little wings and maybe some peanuts in the little packs you could send to help with the celebration?? They are planning to have 100 guests at the wedding, if you can help out that would be so wonderful.... how much do the little wings cost?? they could not only exchange rings... but also wings!! please contact me,

I feel like I’ve approached this topic before, but in light of the airlines raising bag fees once again to $25 for the first bag and $35 for the second, I thought it was worth revisiting. There are a lot of people complaining about bag fees going up, but that’s not going to do any good. You need to take action if you’re not happy. to read more, visit: http://crankyflier.com/2010/01/19/how-you-can-get-airlines-to-stop-raising-bag-fees/

Bravo Southwest... this is why i fly you even if your fares are not always the lowest. you treat us with respect, no hidden costs, astronomical change fees (if any at all). you are not in our wallet every time we turn around and i appreciate that more and more as i deal with other carriers. i also appreciate the fact that when i want to use my frequent flier mileage i can ACTUALLY us it. unlike other airlines, CONTINENTAL, where they have such limited access to mileage seats that it is virtually impossible to use them.
after a rather unpleasant experience with CONTINENTAL AIRLINES, trying to use a $2000. credit I became aware that the $400. penalty would have to be paid for by credit card and in addition to the money in credit that they ALREADY HAD (and this was just the beginning of the hassles i had in simply booking a ticket with my credit). I gave them a piece of my mind that included the above reference to how SPIRIT does business. i also compared them to what our government's way of doing business... without getting political here, i am referencing the hidden taxes, fees and creative (sleazy?) new ways to take our money a little at a time. this WILL hurt these other airlines in the long run. goodwill with customers is the number one value for a company and i am SOUTHWEST, understands and honors that. and with that said, i must share that i have never seen a more miserable group of people than the employees of CONTINENTAL, it leads me to believe that their poor treatment of their passengers is also a mirror of what goes on inside the company.
thank you SOUTHWEST for your keen insight, going against the tide, and staying true to yourself and to US.
a loyal and happy customer,
AKMARTIN

Vice President Al Gore also asked for Southwest Airlines for advice about how to put more Customer Service in Government. The key is hire the right people in the first place. We care because we share in everything. Profits and losses matter to us, Customers matter to us, being able to make decisions matter to us, humanity matters to us, family matters to us, attitude matters to us. All of these things add up and I just do not know if the Culture can be changed because it what makes Southwest so darn GREAT. When things matter to your people it changes everything about how they work. What matters where you work?
