TSA is doing some weird stuff. I'm TSA Pre and CLear I fly a lot so TSA should know me pretty well. I am not dangerous in any way.   I had a flight  yesterday, and I was "randomly" selected to have    to show my DL. Then I was selected to go thru the body scanner after the magnetic scanner beeped me. THEN TSA said they needed to check my PHONE?  I asked why? The response was to check for explosive residue.   I've had TSA check my bags for residue in the past, but never my PHONE. ... View more

Sorry to hear that this happened to you.,   Several things could have happened:   1) If there were lots of other passengers who booked connecting flights, then they would have been checked in 24 hours before their first flight - which might have been hours before you could do so   2) Then there are all those people that bought Early Bird Check In   3) Then there were all those A-List and A-List Preferred people and others with them   4) And if you were just a minute or two late, those that beat you to hitting the check in button ... So I pick the new posts option and go from there.
