Gate agents are usually (99%) friendly, and understanding. If you present an issue, they'll usually help ya out! You might sometimes be asked for a doctor's note or proof; not because you're not trusted but because certain people can attempt to gain the system. Safe travels!

There are so many factors, and it's also important to note that the SWA Holiday fiasco was caused by something out of their control too (weather). Yes, there's room to improve, but it's always important to keep things in perspective. Hopefully this is a true learning experience!
