To report an issue you can either call customer relations if it is not a weekend of holiday at 855-234-4654 or if you don't want to spend all the time on the phone you can send an email from the southwest website by clicking on the contact us link at the bottom of the page. To use credit from a canceled flight you would first need the confirmation number from the flight which you canceled. you then can call southwest go online and go through the booking process and on the payment screen will see a place to apply travel funds there you will enter your confirmation number and first and last name on the confirmation number it should then apply note the booking date of the original canceled flight you had will be the expiration date of this ticket so if you booked that ticket in May of 2016 you have until May of this year to use those funds and complete travel compared to if you booked with no credits you would have a year from the date in which you book. Also the name(s) of the people on the canceled reservation have the credit and it can't be transferred so they must fly and if the reservation you book is say $70 and you old reservation was $100 the remainder of $30 will stay with that old confirmation number and the expiration date will remain the same. If you buy early bird you will be checked in automatically 36 hours before you flight and you can check in at any point starting at the 24 hour mark if you choose not to buy early bird you must wait until 24 hours before your flight to check in so if your flight is at 3pm on the 12th then the earliest you can check in on the 11th is 3PM. You can check in online up until 1 hour before flight time I believe but you will want to either check in as close to the 24 hours mark (3PM in this case) as possible or buy early bird check in and you could just print your reserved boarding pass position at your convience (starting at 3PM on the 11th in this case) if you want to add early bird you will need to do it at least 36 hours before flight time hope this helps! In this case you would lose your early bird because being the flight is tomorrow and earlier those people may be checked in already and the early bird people from the flight WOULD be checked in. If you change a flight with early bird and there is at least 36 hours before the new flight that you changed to then early bird would transfer but being the flight is tomorrow it won't transfer but you could pay $30-$40 at the ticket counter to get A1-A15 if available if you don't get an A boarding pass hope this helps and happy travels! So I think you were apart of the NO show policy which does cancel the remaining segments on that confirmation number. My thought is because since a person misses the 1st flight they assume you won't take the return so they cancel it so they can sell the seat. (Just my thought) i do think booking one ways is better for that reason for people who miss flights a lot and well that way points post and you don't have to wait for the reservation to be completed on the whole RT. The only time I book RT flights is when I have a promo code that would benefit me by booking a RT flight. Since there is no RT ticket sale meaning you get a few dollars off by booking RT the only benifit I think is one less confirmation number to deal with. Happy Travels Blake

So I have done the same kind of thing before where I book 2 separate one ways but in my experience they told me I would have to claim by baggage and re check it because the agent in the original departure airport does not see my other flights only the flights on the reservation to/from that airport. For example i did AUS to HOU. Then HOU to MCO. The agent said all they see is the flight to HOU. So I had to re check in when I got to Houston also it's important to note when making a point to point reservation you *may* not be covered if your 1st flight is delayed to missing your next flight because it is booked seperatly. And to them you would be a no show on the 2nd flight. If you booked your 2 flights on the same confirmation number then they should be able to check it to the final destination and you would not be a no show should a big delay occur If you have any questions let me know and also if they check your bag all the way let me know also because then maybe I just had an agent that wouldn't do it hope this helps Blake

Hi there @LindseyD is correct the best things to do is sign up for the click N save emails and to check out the low fare calendar if your dates are flexible. another thing I have noticed is most sales start on Tuesdays so i recommend you look on Tuesdays or Wednesday's. Just a heads up the schedule for August (until the 14th of August) will open up on January 5th (that date is subject to change) but I recommend looking on that date and you might find a great deal! hope this helps Blake

I agree with one companion getting to board with you. I totally agree on the special tag for checked bags because I am usually the last bag because my luck isn't the best 😂 It would also also be nice to choose which perk you want for example instead of drink coupons have a choice of a LUV voucher even if it's $20 or $25 or a credit for the southwest store or even free wifi coupon or another thought would be a free business select boarding pass upgrade coupon on day of travel meaning getting the $30 or $40 fee waived another idea for southwest in the long term would be to have a lounge like other airlines for business select customers and A List members and companion pass travelers or team up with somone where we can get access to a lounge I do love the new perk they added of the waived change fee on day of travel to another flight within 2 hours of original booked flight I just wish it would exist for people who I am flying with on that reservation because it would be silly to say I will arrive 2 hours before you then have to wait on them hope they will make some of these changes in the future!

Great question! when they get to the airport they can print the boarding passes at a kiosk and if they are checking bags they can do that as well at the ticket counter. Be sure they get to the airport with plenty of time because lines will be longer since it is the holiday season. All you kids will need is the confirmation number since they are under 18. Another thing I would recommend is emailing your kid the confirmation email so they can show it to the Rep at the ticket counter. Hope this helps! Blake

All you will be required to pay is any difference in fare. @Bradangie95 Ok so I just remembered because it's international you would have to book 2 one way flights. That trick only works on domestic flights. 😢 what this means is if your checking bags you would need to allow yourself enough time to claim them and re check them in another city so for example fly DAL to HOU on a morning flight then allow yourself 3-4 hours so you can allow for a delay should it occur and then go out of security get your bag and re check it. Then go through security again. Sorry to break that news to you I hope the schedule for 2 one ways will work out so you don't have to spend 2 days flying just to start a vacation. Great question all A List preferred, A List, and Early bird check ins are done 36 hours before the flight if someone that had say A21 as an A List member cancels there flight then who ever checks in next would get that A21. This happens because since people cancel last second and people miss connections all the time then there would be group D possibly E as well so sometimes people who didn't buy early bird and check in right at the 24 hour mark or wait until right when they get to the airport to check in will get a better spot because usually by that time flights have been missed opening up spots or changes making the spots open to the next person to check in. You could try a point to point reservation what this means is on the website if you type in say Dallas to Houston one way then once that loads at the top where you would change your flight to say a different date or city there will be an option to select Roundtrip and it should load a place for you to enter a third destination (Roundtrip with a different return) at that point you could type in Aruba and that way it's all on one confirmation number. Another thing I would try is do Dallas to Orlando then Orlando to Aruba as it could be cheaper. I have been waiting for southwest to add a travel wallet or travel bank as well it's much easier that way all funds are in one place so that all you would have to do is click on the funds or vouchers up to 3. I did talk to someone at customer customer relations who said she wishes that it existed as well and that they are looking in to it so no promises and no time frame. I hope they will take my feedback as well as others and add something like this as delta and united both have it.
