Currently Southwest has bases in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Oakland, Orlando, and Phoenix. so you would probably have to commute unless they add Raleigh as a base between now and when you apply and go through the process. -Blake

This is slightly off topic but the original post reminded me of when I was little and I used layaway at Gemco to buy my very own Atari 2600. I stayed up ALL night playing Space Invaders when I was finally able to bring it home. I would have been very sad to lose it 😞 so I'm really hoping the Nintendo Switch makes it back "home".

Currently the schedule is open through August 10th which is why you currently can’t book after that date. On March 12th Southwest will open the schedule for flights through October 31st. This date is subject to change as it has already. Here’s how you can find the date of the schedule extension: When does Southwest extend its schedule? -Blake

I bet that SW would like to fly a whole bunch of flights that it can"t due to the Max grounding. About 10% of the fleet is missing. Thus 10% of the flights are missing, too.

I don’t think Southwest publishes call center phone numbers for the security of the call center because some might call if they are mad at some employee for one reason or another. You could always reach out to Southwest directly through one of the these methods to see if they can help you: Submitting a Suggestion and/or Complaint. -Blake

Congrats on geting your stuff back. The system does work most, but not all, of the time. One needs to be patient, which is a hard thing to do.

The self tagging and drop off is different from the full service counter. The full service counter is usually right next to the self service machines. There should be a sign that says full service that’s where they usually have the ability to override the reservation to check the bag all the way to your final destination. -Blake

So I did some research and I do see that in May they have 1 non stop on Sundays only. I see for the return there are days with a 1 stop no change of planes. In July I am seeing a non stop Monday-Saturday. And tickets aren't on sale for October yet so I’m not sure what the schedule will be. Hope this helps! -Blake

Absolutely. Just keep in mind that any flight(s) you apply those travel funds to will take on the expiration date of the travel funds, including any additional new funds you may add. Meaning that the new itinerary will expire sooner than if you'd not used the funds, which may be important if you need flexibility to change or reschedule the new flight(s).

I agree with you 100%! LUV the free changes and cancellations and I was in the same boat several times where a flight was delayed and they gave everyone a voucher the other guys would make you email in to get a voucher. -Blake

That's awesome that they were able to help you use your travel funds! One note for future reference: All airlines allow you to cancel any booking within 24 hours. If you remember immediately that you're forgotten to apply funds, you can always just cancel the reservations and then rebook them yourself, applying the funds at that time.

If you did no-show for your outgoing flight, then your best bet is to go online and book yourself a new return flight. As mentioned above, if you fail to show for a flight and do not cancel the itinerary at least 10 minutes prior to departure, the entire itinerary is cancelled and all funds forfeited. This includes the return portion of the itinerary.

Yesterday southwest announced that they were revising their schedule because of the max 8 this in turn changes the schedule which is why you probably saw the results go from several to 1 And the price probably went up because those on the other flights were rebooked on the only flight left Which took the seats at the lower fare. -Blake

When you book your hotel reservation make sure to enter your Rapid Rewards number during checkout - if you don't do this, there is no way for them to give you your points. I've never had a problem with my points posting, it typically takes a few weeks but in some rare cases they will post just a few days after check out is complete. --Jessica

So when you say you booked and cancelled a flight did you apply the voucher to that reservation? If so that voucher is being held as a travel fund under the confirmation number that you cancelled. The travel fund will only be valid for the person who’s name is on it so if you booked for sally joe (as an example ) then only Sally Joe can use that fund. If you didn't apply the voucher to that other reservation it is possible that the LUV voucher has expired. Keep in mind you only have a year from the date of issue to book and complete travel for the voucher to work. You can always reach out to southwest on Twitter and they can help look in to finding out if the voucher was redeemed or expired. -Blake
