I don't know who you'll be flying then, considering all the major airlines are federally mandated to be vaccinated.

@asinger3 wrote: Frustrating. Long time customers right now questioning our loyalty to Southwest. Lets talk facts: 1) You bought a non refundable ticket right in the middle of the pandemic. 2) You knew or should have known the rules: non refundable and if unused the resultant travel fund expires one year from the purchase date. 3) When you bought the ticket, YOU assumed the risk that you might not be able to take the flight. In return, SW gave you a cheaper fare. 4)The rules don't say except in case of (insert reason here). There are no exceptions. 5) No other airline would treat you better than Southwest. You made a decision to buy a cheap ticket. You could have bought a refundable ticket, but you chose to not do so - right in the middle of the pandemic.. Now you have to live with the consequences of your decision.

You can reach out to southwest on Facebook or Twitter and they can look up the voucher to see if it is expired or if the voucher was used. -Blake

@NOLA1206 you didn't mention being charged the typical $100 fee so it appears you received a free extension of your travel fund. Sure, that's perhaps not exactly what you wanted, but you should at least recognize Southwest was attempting to be nice. Maybe that's not what happened, but your message isn't exactly clear which makes me think your email to Southwest probably wasn't the clearest either. If your credit is still in the form of a travel fund then in theory you're still eligible to extend via the $100 conversion fee once the travel fund re-expires. Again, you weren't clear so I can't provide further information. For future contact I would recommend sending private messages to Southwest via Twitter or Facebook or using the live chat function in the Southwest app. --TheMiddleSeat

@ThatAdamGuy wrote: Hi there, Curious to know if the informal policy is that there's a grace period from the time you request the voucher (within 6 months of the expiration) or a grace period that is a max 6 months from the expiration. e.g., if my funds expire on 1/1/2021, if I wait until 6/15/2021, will my travel voucher be good until 12/15/2021 or 7/1/2021? Thanks in advance for the info! Signed, Someone who canceled his earlier tickets one hour and 40 minutes past the Sep 7 deadline and Southwest wouldn't budge 😞 You have six months from the date of expiration in which to make the voucher request, and the voucher will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
