Hi Mary. There's been lots of speculation about Hawaii. We know it is going to happen. We just don't know exactly when. That is due to the fact that the government needs to certify both the planes and the airline for long over water flights, and the government moves at it's own speed.. Anyway, here's the most recent speculation from Hawaii: https://beatofhawaii.com/southwest-hawaii-airline-update/

hello. Sorry to hear about your lost laptop. It's good that you filed a lost item report. That's critical. Regretably, your best option is to wait for the process to work out. Southwest apparently ships all found items to a central location and then tries to match the items to those reported as lost. It's a big job, as if just 1 in 1000 passengers files a lost item report this year, then that means that Southwest will need to try to track down 160,000 items. Hope that it works out for you.

Please help me . Thanks, Vetri Hi Vetri. Yes you can shop u-haul boxes as luggage. Just make sure that they are taped in a manner that will survive the rigors of the process. This is likely to be VERY expensive for you unless you happen to be military on active duty or permanent change of station. The rule is that boxes in excess of 62 inches (height+length+width) are oversized and incur an extra fee. Your 18x18x24 boxes are fine. as they add up to 60. So by my math, the other 4 boxes will cost you $150 each since each of them add up to 66. I'd encurage you to check what UPS would charge you to ship those boxes.. Another cheaper alternative for you might be to downsize the bigger boxes into the 18x18x24 size. 6 of those would cost less than 4 of the bigger size. Also remember that no box can weigh more than 100 pounds. Anyway, here are the rules: " Weight and Size Allowance Southwest will accept the first two checked bags for free provided that the bags do not exceed 50 lbs and 62 inches (L+W+H). Overweight items from 51 to 100 pounds and oversized items in excess of 62 inches but not more than 80 inches will be accepted for a charge of $75.00 per item one-way. Only one $75.00 charge applies if the piece is both oversized and overweight, regardless of the weight as long as it does not exceed 100 lbs. Excess baggage which is also overweight or oversized will be charged excess baggage plus the applicable oversize or overweight charge. Any item weighing more than 100 pounds must be shipped as Air Cargo. However, Customers cannot use SWA Cargo unless classified as a Known Shipper as defined by the TSA or TSA approved Indirect Air Carriers (IAC). For full details about shipping cargo, visit www.swacargo.com. Exception: Military Passengers traveling on active duty or permanent change of station orders will be exempt from the two-piece Baggage limit and will not be subject to excess, oversize, or overweight Baggage charges, provided that none of the pieces of Baggage exceeds 100 pounds in weight and 80 inches in size (L+W+H)." https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/checked-bags-pol.html

Apparently this is possible if you have a Chase Southwest credit card. I am not conversant in the methodology since I don't have the credit card. https://www.1.awardhq.com/24468SWA0SWARR/shop/gift-cards/_/N-115344+4294954283?icid=swagiftcard_aug2018_southwest https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/faqs.html?topic=rapid_rewards_redeeming_points It looks like they value of every Southwest point at 1 cent. So 5000 points buys you a $50 gift card. Be aware the the value of Southwest points used in buying flights directly from Southwest is over 1.5 cents per point. Thus, it may make more financial sense for you to use points to book flights for others than to buy a gift card.

If so, just go down below to verify subscriptions. to verify the e-mail address as well as to verify enrollment to receive various things from Southwest 1) Log on to your southwest account 2) Click on my account 3) Move down to the left side of the page to my preferences, communication 4) Verify subscriptions and e-mail addresses 5) If needed click on edit (want to add another e-mail address?) to add an address 6) save and then go back to subscriptions to have it point at the correct address.

Hello. Are you saying you had a trip scheduled to/from an airport that was covered by a hurricane advisory, and had that trip cancelled? If so, that presents an interesting question for Southwest customer relations. You can reach them via the methods listed on th top left of Southwest's contact us webpage. https://www.southwest.com/contact-us/contact-us.html?clk=GFOOTER-CUSTOMER-CONTACT-US If not, Southwest has a policy on expiring travel funds. I am unaware of any variance from that policy. They expire after one year. After expiration, you have the ability to pay $100 to have the balance (minus the $100) reinstated in a form that you or anyone else can use. I believe that form of balance expires 6 months after that. Hope your medical situation has improved.

Hello. You are allowed o carry on an item that fits in the overhead bin and should be no more than 24x16x10. You are also allowed one smaller carry on small enough to fit under the seat in front of you. Both are free of charge. You are also allow rwo free checked bags subject to the following rules: "Southwest will accept the first two checked bags for free provided that the bags do not exceed 50 lbs and 62 inches (L+W+H). @LuvTravel wrote: Early Bird was wonderful years ago, but now I feel it's going the same way as the "Express Pass" at Disney. You feel the need to purchase it for even the chance of a decent seat. It would be a great service to SW customers if SW allowed visibility to how may EBCI passes have been purchased for your flight to help determine if it's worth the fee. That being said, I purchase early bird for nearly every flight and I still love SouthWest. The EBCI might be a bit greedy, but at least it's not hidden fees to pick a seat or bring a bag or get a beverage and snack while in flight. Good suggestion, but it won't give you all the visibility you want. A listers are always in front of EBCIers when it comes to boarding position, and those that buy tickets after ypur EBCI purchase still end up in front of EBCIers as long as the ticket is bought more than 36 hours before flight time. So if you could get data about the number of EBCIers and A listers that had purchsed flights, that would get you closer to what you want. You might want to try to check in yourself. I have friends that still do so and they normally end up with boarding positions good enough to snag an aisle or window seat somewhere on the plane. Just be sure to check in exactly t-24 from departure time -- not t-23:30. Lots of people try to check in exctly 24 hour before flight time.

Davis is right. You are not the first person who has had your problem. That being said, the Southwest rep had no way to help you with out having the pertinent credit card information. Also, no airline "holds" a reservation that does not include payment information - and companies like United charge you for the privilege of holding your reservation. So Gail had no way to either cut you a ticket of hold your reservation. Gail was also correct when she said that you should contact Chase. Chase made you an offer. Chase was supposed to follow up on it's offer, and did not do so. Sorry.

Southwest used to be above this kind of thing and, in my opinion, it's sad to see that they no longer are. In all fairness to Southwest, whenever the term Points Don't Expire appear in print, they are followed be an *, and in close proximity this follows "*Points don’t expire as long as you have flight-earning or partner-earning activity at least once every 24 months."

When Southwest plans tos fly to Hawaii is an unknown due to the FAA requiing the planes to be certfied for long over water flights and the airline to the certified to offer long over water flights. The government moves at it's own speed. When will it approve these things?Good question. Southwet has stated that it hopes to start selling tickets sometime this year and start flying to Hawaii some time next year. When? See paragraph 1. In the meantime, if you see killer fares on another airline, you shold consider snagging them.

I was told to contact Customer Relations to be reimbursed for the additional travel expenses I incurred due to mechanical issues on the southwest flight that delayed my first flight from Seattle to Las Vegas which caused me to miss my connecting flight to El Paso. I was not given any other option but for southwest to put me in a hotel overnight and wait until the next day or to purchase a new connecting flight on a different airlines to get to my final destination. I was ensured that in the latter option I would be reimbursed. I had to meet my daughter by the next morning and could not wait until the next day. After calling customer relations I was told they would NOT reimburse me because "they don't do that". I was LIED TO! And now I spent an additional $600 all because southwest had a mechanical issue, had poor communication, and did not give me an opportunity to deplane in seattle and find other travel arrangements, and most importantly LIED to me about being reimbursed. What is the expiration date of the travel funds? Is it still 9/30/2017 or does it get a new date of 9/20/2018. Thanks" Thanks! The answer to that question has always been the same. I'll use different dates to make sure everyone understands. If one buys a ticket on 1/1/2018 and then cancels the flight, then the travel funds must be used (new travel MUST be completed) by 1/1/2019/ If that ticket bought on 1/1/18 is cancelled and then the funds are used to buy a new ticket on7/31/18 amd then that ticket is cancelled, then the expiration date remains 1/1/2019 If that ticket bought on 1/1/2018 is cancelled and then is used in combionation with $200 more to buy a new ticket and then that ticket is cancelled, then the expiration date remains 1/1/2019 -- even for the $200 that was added. Expiration daes is ALWAYS one year from the OLDEST date of travel funds used in a new reservation. Again, ALL TRAVEL must be completed by that expiration date.

Hello. Any traveler should be able to use his own travel funds any way he wants. The proviso is that all travel MUST be completed within one year of the date of the purchase of the ticket that turned into travel funds. So a roundtrip with a date on either side of the expiration date would not work. Also, there's not a way to combine point and travel funds to buy a ticket. You could use travel funds to buy a one way out, and points to buy a one way back. Also you can't use your travel funds to buy a ticket for someone else. They are only for your use.
