@Mikeyeggs wrote: But if In N Out were on the east coast and then suddenly stopped selling on the east coast, I would be annoyed. This is the feeling I am having with SW and their discontinued non stop flights. Point taken. The airline industry is just brutally competitive and dynamic so all of the carriers need to constantly optimize and adjust. I *hope* the network planning team has some sort of qualitative factor to account for this when they remove/reduce frequency on city pairs but I have no clue.

This is a random analogy but I really wish In-N-Out Burger had a presence on the East coast. But they don't so when I want a burger I have to go somewhere else... Though when I travel to the West coast I definitely stop at In-N-Out. Though you can bet I'll be happy as they continue to expand their presence.

@kellydaylaw I don't see the issue with the credit card provider (in this case it's Chase) waiting for the credit card statement to close before posting the points and I think it's a common practice in the industry. Check out the timing noted by the original poster noted earlier in the thread: https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Rapid-Rewards-Credit-Card/Chase-Companion-Pass-Credit-Card-Offer-2019/m-p/85938/highlight/true#M294 - Applied for Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Card on 1/12/19. - Received card on ~ 1/16/19. - Met spending requirements and statement closed on 1/28/19. - Points posted on 1/30/19. - Companion pass enabled on website 2/5/19. Most folks echoed a similar experience and timing. Once your statement closes give it a few days and hopefully you'll be in good shape.

The first thing that comes to mind is the low fare calendar (pre-selected with CLE-SLC in July): https://www.southwest.com/air/low-fare-calendar/select-dates.html?adultPassengersCount=1¤cyCode=POINTS&departureDate=2019-07-01&destinationAirportCode=SLC&originationAirportCode=CLE&passengerType=ADULT&returnAirportCode=&returnDate=&tripType=oneway You can scroll through different months to get a sense of the lowest fares (in dollars or rewards points) that are available. My personal experience is that pricing increases as you get closer to the travel date. The beauty of flying with Southwest is that if the fare does come down then you can swap out to a different flight, though from your post it seems like you already know this!

I have to imagine that Southwest has some way to track route requests so you may want to get in touch with Southwest using one of the methods listed here: https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/Submitting-a-Suggestion-and-or-Complaint/ta-p/87244 The linked page states, in part, "Please reach out to our Customer Relations Department via Twitter (@Southwestair), or call us at 1-855-234-4654 so we can give your feedback the time and consideration it deserves."

@crystalaky518 the info on strollers and car seats is in a really weird location on the web site, it's on the "Carryon Baggage Policy" page, found here: https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/carryon-bags-pol.html This is the applicable content from the page: Customers traveling with children will be allowed to check one stroller and one Child Restraint System (CRS) or car seat per child without charge. This is in addition to the regular free baggage allowance. The stroller and CRS or car seat allowance applies to any type of stroller (umbrella, full size, jogging stroller, etc.) and CRS or car seat. The Customer may check the stroller and CRS or car seat at the curb, ticket counter, or gate. Southwest Airlines will not assume liability for damage to strollers, CRS’s or car seats. An optional Southwest-branded reusable car seat/stroller bag is available for purchase at any Southwest Airlines ticket counter for a $17 onetime fee. Bag dimensions are 42”X20.5X12.5”.

Two different articles I'll link to provide some perspective on flight cancellations. 1. "The carrier [Southwest] is canceling about 130 flights per day out of a daily schedule of around 4,000 flights and is calling off flights about five days ahead. Source: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/25/boeing-readies-software-fix-for-737-max-planes-airlines-prepare-for-longer-disruptions.html 2. "American Airlines, for example, had most of its 24 MAX jets flying in and out of Miami, where load factors have been full during the Spring Break season. 'We can’t just cancel all of those flights, so the goal is to spread out the cancellations across our entire system to impact the least amount of customers,' American Airlines spokesman Ross Feinstein said." Source: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-ethiopia-airplane-usa-flights/with-737-max-grounded-airlines-face-daily-scheduling-challenges-idUSKCN1R11X3 Many airlines are impacted and they all seem to be trying to minimize the pain for their passengers, they are all just going about it in slightly different ways.

@tvxrays it looks like the nonstop flights are seasonal and will return on August 10, 2019, see the following press release dated January 31, 2019: https://www.swamedia.com/releases/release-bc94d941a090ea44998912da1f124964-southwest-airlines-extends-published-flight-schedule One other tool available for use (one of my favorites) is the flight schedule tool where you are able to enter city pairs, a date, and click "weekly" to find all air service for the week in question. The following link brings you to service from FLL to BDL for the week of August 4, 2019 - August 10, 2019 and it does in fact show a nonstop flight on the 10th. You can use any city pairs and date then do a search within the page for "nonstop" and you'll see the nonstops: https://www.southwest.com/air/flight-schedules/results.html?departureDate=2019-08-10&destinationAirportCode=BDL&originationAirportCode=FLL&scheduleViewType=weekly&timeOfDay=ALL_DAY I hope you enjoy your Companion Pass!

I think the short answer is that nobody knows for sure so it will require some active monitoring if you want to be one of the first to know when the flights go on sale. The longer answer with info I'm able to find about Kauai service: From the March 4, 2019 press release announcing initial Hawaii flights on sale: "Additional service details, including plans for previously announced gateways of San Diego and Sacramento, and for Lihue, on Kauai, will be announced in the coming weeks." Source: https://www.swamedia.com/releases/release-bc94d941a090ea44998912da1fdcc705-hawaii-here-we-come This is the link to the Southwest media page where the press releases like the one above are posted: https://www.swamedia.com/ This is the link for Southwest Travel Planning Tools: https://www.southwest.com/html/travel-tools/index.html Note that the planning tools page states, "We are currently accepting air reservations through November 2, 2019. On May 23, 2019 we will open our schedule for sale through January 5, 2020. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently." My *guess* as another Southwest customer is that we may see Kauai flights announced off-cycle (i.e. not on May 23) given the comment from the March release that additional flights will be announced in the coming weeks. I assume Southwest is hedging their bets on when they start the next batch of Hawaii service given the Max 8 groundings and that they probably want to see how the initial Hawaii service is panning out.

It sounds like something is off so I echo the comment to call Chase. I assume this is for a personal card so check to see that your Rapid Rewards (RR) number is on your credit card (it's on my personal card). Note that we also have a business credit card but the business cards do not have the RR number. If your personal card doesn't have your RR number or it has the wrong number then that is a good starting point for the conversation with Chase.

I agree with @dfwskier to get in touch with Customer Relations, also available via Twitter (@Southwestair). See this link for context: https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/Submitting-a-Suggestion-and-or-Complaint/ta-p/87244 Also one technical note to avoid confusion as aircraft type was referenced in the original note (for others who read this post in the future). Southwest currently has three variants of 737 aircraft in their inventory: 1. 737-700 2. 737-800 3. 737 MAX 8 Note that it's confusing because two of the aircraft variants have an "8" in there but the "-800" and the "MAX 8" are not the same aircraft. This is a page with MAX 8 FAQs: https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Southwest-Stories/Boeing-737-MAX-8-FAQs/ba-p/88171 Double check what notification method was selected when the tickets were booked as the MAX 8 FAQs page states: How will I know if my flight is cancelled or delayed? In the event of a flight delay or cancellation, Customers are notified via the method selected during booking (phone, email, or text). Customers can proactively track the status of a flight using our Flight Status Tool on Southwest.com

Think of it as a two step process: 1. The system will automatically assign you a boarding sequence at the 36-hour point. 2. You still need to check-in at some point within 24 hours of your flight to obtain your boarding pass, which will show your pre-assigned boarding sequence. I hope this helps!

@Sadievail here is what the Southwest web site says about items left on the plane (I'll also include the direct links for this information). If you realize that you left an important item onboard the plane, please notify a Southwest Airlines Customer Service Agent before leaving the airport so he or she can try to retrieve the item. If you’ve left the airport, please contact our lost and found. Please provide detailed information regarding the item (i.e. model/serial number, brand, size, color, etc.). We will make every effort to locate your item and return it to you. If you provide an email address you will receive regular communication on the status of the search for your item and will be contacted via email and phone if it’s located. If you do not provide an email address you will only be contacted by phone if your item is located. If we have not located your item within 30 days from the time it was reported, it is not likely that it was turned in. While we make every effort to locate lost items, Southwest Airlines is not liable for unchecked items left on the plane. Source: https://www.southwest.com/html/generated/help/faqs/baggage_faq.html Here is the link to the page to contact the Lost & Found team: https://live.nettracer.aero/southwest-paxview/lostandfound/landing.do As another customer I don't have insight about where items end up.
