I want my airlines to fly planes safely and my fellow voters to have ID... the same ID they need to fly on a plane. It's really that simple. If you're trying to make more of it, you aren't interested in legal and fair voting.

The web app has better accessibility to the low fare finder and can find sale fares and nonstop routes better. Plus it's required for booking underage travelers. Other than that, I like the app better.

Ugh... this is tiresome. As someone who has flown over 50,000 miles with a mask, and got Covid from someone at home... without symptoms...I can factually and definitively say: Some (if not most) Covid transmission is asymptomatic. My only symptom for a week was loss of smell. One day of fever. And NO ONE in the family ever had a cough. Wear your mask. Get out there and fly. This plane to 🇵🇷 is almost full. Buen dia!

@Kvainuku wrote: I would like to book a flight for late in the fall while flights are fairly cheap. Although I am confident I should be receiving my companion pass within the next following months, should all continue as planned. My question is, will I be able to edit my fall reservations once I get companion pass to my current flights booked? I will be flying with the person I plan to add onto my companion pass in the fall. I am fairly new to all this. Please advise, thank you! Yes, as was said... book your flight normally, and watch for fare moves. If it goes down, rebook and get the discount. If it goes up, and you're worried it'll sell out... lock the seat with Points. I had to do this once. By the time I swapped it to the companion, people had canceled, so it wasn't an issue. But I did get nervous there for a while.

I hear you. My suggestion next time... ask them if she can board with you. They have let us do this most times. Worst case, you can both board after the A group. We had to do this once. Or let her board and join you. She's fifteen. No big deal. In any case, you will get a good seat.

I grew up on a farm so I have been exposed to all kinds of things and unfortunately that doesn't result in a strong immune system. I wish I was like that, but having gotten the flu one or two times per year even after getting vaccine for it I realize there are many people that just aren't as hearty. This year - no flu. There's no doubt in my mind and from my experience that the distancing and masking works, it's cut the flu totally out this year. I may wear a mask from now on riding public transportation like the el. I hear you. That makes sense, but it does seem a bit excessive for many of us, especially considering that airlines seem to not spread Covid. Is this due only to masks, or the high flow environment making it "safer" than the El with a mask? And do we all need to wear a mask? What if the plane is empty? Who am I protecting, or being protected from? The difference here was masks were intended to protect others from asymptomatic wearers. If I don't have the flu, why would I wear a mask to protect others? Or are you assuming that (for the flu), the mask protects the wearer? Then feel free to wear one. Perhaps the back of the plane will be the new "maskless" section, like the smoking section used to be. I'll happily go back there. Then only the front of the plane would have people getting nagged for taking their mask off too long to drink.

It depends. Antigen is acceptable for entry into USA. But it's not acceptable for Hawaii or PR. Yes, they aren't international... but other countries might have similar requirements.

You don't have to even store it. Just use their RR number. All info can be stolen by hackers. Not sure why this makes it worse.

The key here is: 1. Points earned on the credit card are redeemable for anyone, and are credit towards a companion pass for the person linked to the account. The companion can be anyone else other than the card holder. 2. Points earned flying are useful also towards A-list. So someone who is flying a lot is better to be the card holder, so the companion is not losing the opportunity to earn A- list credit by flying free. It sounds like you are the one flying, so if Chase won't swap you over, you should get a new card. My wife and I have the same issue. She has her own card, and is a card holder on mine. It makes a bit more sense to use my card, so I can earn a CP next year. But beyond that, either of us can use our points to fly one another or anyone else. Since I'm preferred, I don't use points for my own flights.

You are correct... you get new TF with that expiration date. Luv voucher and cash are "gone".

You can only use three forms of payment, and those 3 don't cover the bill. You can use 2, and pay the rest. Or use 2 or 3 for cheaper flight, and then cancel it to combine them into one new travel fund, and then use that. Or if it's round trip, use two for one leg, and the rest for the second leg.

Just think... Fauci wants you to wear TWO masks now. Why? I thought the masks were to flatten the curve. Double masking plus the vaccine is trying to ELIMINATE the curve. But wait... there's a new variant. And another. And the vaccine may not be effective for long. Maybe a year. So..... you realize you're potentially setting yourself up for ENDLESS vaccines. Tell me one other time when a government mandate of this magnitude was ever rescinded. Income tax was temporary once, too. All this for air travel... which isn't a vector anyways. I had Covid. I'm over it. And I don't get the vaccine anytime soon either. And even if I did, I STILL have to test to travel to Hawaii or back into the country. Nope... not gonna do it. Why should I hurry out to get the vaccine when I barely even get credit for it?

I knew it was too late for me to be doing math. Cents per point vs. Points per cent never makes sense. So yeah, I guess it makes sense. Three other Points: (Pun intended) 1. Short trips are relatively more valuable with Points due to eliminated taxes being a larger percentage of the flight cost. 2. International flights are less useful, since taxes must be paid in cash. 3. Points flights can be booked and canceled with impunity. If you start doing that with your TF, you'll be chopping them up into new record locators, which makes reuse a bit more complicated. And any cash you attach to those new reservations with inherit the expiration date. If you suspect Covid or other factors might make your travel unpredictable for the next year, points might be the safer bet.

Odd... they always seem to make comments asking for help reseating other passengers. Given the fact that they have always done this, I find it odd that you didn't know. And given the fact that there have been a spate of new arrivals in the last week or so making quite unusual and exaggerated incidents, I'm finding it hard to believe them all. Methinks someone is getting some practice with their online trolling writing skills.

Not sure what you're asking. That's the exact reason why they let you get the doctor to sign off that you've recovered. It's arguably more accurate than trying to get a negative test after you're positive. The goal is to ensure that you're not contagious, which allegedly you aren't so many days after symptoms go away.

All good tips. If you want to be really crafty, buy refundable hotel stays and cancel them after you get your CP. I prepaid for a bunch of vacations before the 1/31 deadline to get 30% extra points. Had to cancel some in February due to Covid closing Tahiti. But I still got the point bonus.

Technically, you don't have to then test negative. The other option is you can go to a doctor and have them sign a note saying you no longer have symptoms and have recovered. The concern is false positives even when you're no longer contagious. We tested negative within three weeks of testing positive, not knowing this was an option (for going to Hawaii). For returning from Mexico, we decided to then get the exemption rather than hassle with another test (although testing would have been easier and cheaper...amazing what a doctor charges to write a note these days). So yes, SWA will accept a positive Covid test result, and a doctor's note of recovery, to return to the US. That will of course mean you'll be there 10-14 more days (or more, if you still have symptoms). But hey, it's Mexico. I heard our hotel would put us up free. Almost wish I had taken the test and gotten a false positive...it was a great (and expensive) hotel.

What are you looking for? Might be better to ask a specific question. Most "programs" or promotions are indeed for the card holders. There are a few that come up to provide bonus points or bonus CP if you fly during certain windows. The last two I recall were 5000 bonus pts for flying 4 flights, and another for a 4-month CP for flying four flights. You should be able to find them here. https://www.southwest.com/rapidrewards/promotions I might agree that some of these seem a bit complicated, but USING the points couldn't be easier. If you're talking about Alist vs CP...it's pretty simple as well. A-list is essentially only available by flying 25 or 50 legs a year. CP is available by gathering points from spending money through partners or the credit card, as well as flying.

Good point. I'd forgotten you could pay to transfer them. At a penny a point, it only makes sense if you're REALLY close to purchasing a ticket and need just a few more points. Consider points are worth about 1.6 cents each, so you're almost buying them. When they have sales, you can buy them for below 1.8 cents per point if I recall... but even then, it rarely makes sense unless you have a specific flight in mind and just need to top off. Don't forget that points flights don't accrue more points, so you get about a 10% rebate on every revenue paid flight.... and one more step towards A-list.

I'm sure you wasted more then 4 hours of your precious time ranting about it. If four hours of your time were that valuable, you wouldn't be flying Southwest. And you'd probably have an accountant find a way to write it off your taxes. So no, I still don't consider you to have suffered any monetary loss. The world is full of uncertainty, and air travel is definitely got its fair share of it. I lost $20 today. I think. Might have fallen out of my pocket. Oh well... I'm over it. If someone found it, I hope they needed it more than I did. Move on.

No, but you can purchase tickets for anyone with YOUR points. So you can't combine two different owner's points to get one ticket. But you could buy a one way ticket for someone and have them buy the other... if they only had enough points for one leg. One advantage of this... you retain some control over the points. If the ticket is cancelled, the points are returned to you.
