Wow! Those drink coupons are collector's items! I'd keep them vs. trying to use them on a flight (although, I don't see an expiration date on these so you might be able to use them if you wanted)! Thanks for sharing! --Jessica

I am not a fan of wearing masks either, believe me, and I can only hope that the policies will be relaxed as the COVID-19 cases decrease and people ease out of panic/"we are all going to die!" mode (which is starting to happen slowly but surely). Thanks, Jessica

The best time to buy is right now, as tickets are the cheapest they have ever been (but are slowly increasing back to normal-ish levels as demand increases). Aside from that, whenever Southwest has a sale is always a good time to buy 😉 --Jessica

Wow! Thanks for sharing! I think all airlines are sadly in the same situation when it comes to refunds. They don't want to give them if they don't have to. Honestly, I understand it, but people are still entitled to them if the airline cancels their flights. As for me...I have around $300 in credit that I'm going to keep for the future. Hopefully I'll get to fly somewhere this year! --Jessica

It's possible that not all food options will be open at the airport, so I would suggest bringing a few snacks with you to tide you over. I've purchased those "P3 Protein Packs" at the grocery store and they normally come with a type of nuts, cheese, and jerky. When I don't have time to pay for a meal, it hits the spot. Here's the official site where you can find all the varieties: https://www.proteinproteinprotein.com/ A word of advice would be if you do bring your own snacks, have them out of your bag as you go through security. I've been slowed down and searched before because the scanners don't recognize what's in the food packages, so it's a good idea to have them out so the TSA agents can easily see what they are. --Jessica

That's what happened to me @bec102896! I contacted Southwest on social media and they changed my flight for me, it took a few minutes! I should check again and see if it's still on schedule, I haven't gotten any more notifications and it's a month away. I suspect I'll end up canceling it anyway, but ... I keep holding out that things will turn to normal sooner rather than much, much later 😞 --Jessica

My whole issue with masks is that it can give people wearing them a false sense of security, and they end up touching their face (etc.) more which can potentially spread even more germs. The same goes towards wearing disposable gloves, which I think is entirely pointless, but we are all entitled to our opinions. Some people go as far as to wash (sanitize) their mail, their grocery bags, and their clothes immediately after being around other people. While that's fine if you want to go to that level, to me all of this is just increasing the potential of turning everyone into a bunch of paranoid germaphobes 😕 I think we all need a reminder that this virus is mild for most and the vast majority who contract it recover. --Jessica

Perhaps you didn’t read the solution. A refund is an option for flights canceled by Southwest. Here is the info again: If your flight was canceled by Southwest, you have a few options: you can rebook your flight, get travel funds, or ask for a refund. You need to contact them and ask (but you should have received an e-mail with this information). If *you* canceled your flight, not Southwest, your options are to rebook or get travel funds, which are good until *2022*. Let us know what other questions you may have. —Jessica

You are definitely not alone, I have a flight booked that got changed by Southwest to a flight that technically doesn't exist by booking directly. I am contacting them via social media to inquire and get a resolution ... I would think that this was done in error and that they can correct the flight path to be a more reasonable one that exists 😉 --Jessica

You seem to be mistaken. Southwest is offering refunds, even on nonrefundable fares, when Southwest cancels your flight. You should receive an e-mail explaining your options. If you yourself cancel your flight, however, you are issued travel funds that don't expire until *2022*. Seems like a pretty good deal, either way you look at it. --Jessica

Story of my life! However, some #Vegas hotels (specifically, the Wynn) have potential plans to open back up as early as late May/June. It's hard to say what will come to pass though, as things are constantly changing. --Jessica

Hello, You might want to read Southwest's latest policies. Travel funds that are to expire between now and September 7, 2020 are being given new expiration dates of September 7, 2022. There's no need to wait. There are 3 options available to you: 1) rebook your flight 2) don't rebook your flight and you will get travel funds that expire June 30, 2021, or 3) request a refund. Let us know if you have any further questions. --Jessica

@ODETYMES wrote: Big disappoint so far. Booked in Feb for a family trip of 4 in July and find the due to the BOOKING DATE we are not eligible for the extension and thus forcing us to use expensive vouchers before Feb of 2021. I would hope this too is extended otherwise a cheesy way to keep our money.......Southwest are you going to step up? This is incorrect. Per the travel credit extension guidelines, if you *cancel* a flight between March 1 and June 30, 2020, your resulting travel credit will be extended to June 30, 2021. See the blog post referenced above. Thanks, Jessica

But they are extending the credit, if you cancel a flight from now until June 30, OR if you have any existing travel credit that will expire by June 30, is being extended to June 30, 2021. It takes awhile for the system to update because they are doing it *manually* from what I understand. Be patient. Hello, Considering flight capacity is extraordinarily low at the moment, it is very easy to social distance on a plane right now. Eventually, planes will need to fly at full capacity again. When that might happen is anyone's guess. IMO, we can't be afraid to sit next to each other forever. We are going to have to learn to practice safe hygiene a little more than we typically would. --Jessica

Hello, Travel credit would work the same as travel credit for a canceled flight - let's say your travel credit was $500 for your tip. You can use this $500 for a future trip - obviously, depending on when you book, your trip might cost more than $500, or it might cost less. You won't know until you look at the new dates. If your trip costs $450, then your $500 credit will cover the trip with $50 left over to use on a different trip (by the expiration date). If your trip was $600, you would need to pay $100, and so on. Good luck on rescheduling! --Jessica

IMO now-May is probably safer to travel the airlines than most other times, with so few going to the airports - less traffic and less people to deal with in general. I think you would be fine. --Jessica

Hello, Try contacting Southwest privately via one of their social media channels like Facebook or Twitter. I have a DM going with them whenever I have issues and they are always quick to respond there. I did have a similar issue like the one you reported (but before the pandemic, this was back in November/December) and they were able to adjust my flight for me in minutes. Thanks! --Jessica

Hi, Here is what Southwest says on their web site regarding travel funds: https://www.southwest.com/Coronavirus/?clk=CORONAVIRUS_TA&cbid=4348124 If you simply rebook your flight because of a flight reduction and receive travel funds, I believe those adhere to the normal expiration date. But if you cancel your flight between now and May 31, those resulting travel funds will have an expiration of June 30, 2021 🙂 Thanks, Jessica
