At present, home testing still has some elements of a false negative and false positive. So the best option is to get a test from a local testing site, (which still has a small element of false) to get the results, BUT, you must self-quarantine from that point forward. Have it with you before you go and it should be alright. BUT, since this was posted things have changed. Always keep checking. I have a scheduled flight in February, so I'm looking daily.

@SM7 between this profile name and the others you use, you really have an axe to grind with SWA. I don't know how they wronged you, but I know this happens in life. There are places I will never do business with ever again, but I've said what I've had to say and have moved on. I do have better things to do than create multiple user sign-in names on a forum to grinding that axe.

@Moneemaker20 I have to agree with Blake. Since March I've stayed at least 20 hotels and, only 1 has taken my temperature. Now with that said, I also think that should be the responsibility of TSA, not any airlines. I'd even say the airport, as you enter you get checked, any issues, they **bleep** it in the bud right away. By the time I get to TSA, I've already been at the ticket counter, checked bags, been to the restroom, touched the handrail on the escalator, and so on.

Without reading all the posts, I'm going to throw this out. Have one of you on different computers and at the exact second, press check in. Although I hear that A-List is automatically checked in 30 hours ahead of the flight, I still do it anyway. Have him click just a couple of seconds sooner than you do, and see what happens. Other than that, i don't know how the system works.

@gretch0628 Am I being unreasonable? In a word, YES! I work all year, mostly into Nov and Dec before the points for my companion finally reach the jackpot. And we are taking many flights, not the other promotions. You get on one flight and you have that luxury for months? I will admit, it's not during the best of times, but it's there. So I can attest you won't get much tread on this one even from the skeptical SWA travelers.

@Yoclay34 You're right, some people do things just out of kindness, but that is their prerogative, not policy. Yes, do we wish all people would be more like that, OH YES!, but what I see is this person only did what their job asked for them to do. It's the same with my work, at times I've bent, but more the most part, I do what my job requests I do, not more, never less. Dang, just like my local bartender, people these days are under so much stress, lets give them a break too.

@jcrootbeer1 As mentioned, if you're end goal is CP, you're done. If you haven't gotten A-List, which I think you would since it's fewer points, maybe shoot for A-List Plus which I'm doing, but don't think I will make. Here is what I've done the past years, once I have the CP, and A-List, I don't go chase the A-List plus anymore as I've never got it. What I do have is a United Airlines, Choice Hotels, and Wyndham Hotels card, which I start using to build up those points. It's been nice when my sweetheart and I fly for the price of one and also have free hotels at the same time. (And if you still keep using the SWA card) you could use points and both fly for free and then get free rooms. It's not Rocket Science, but this reward thing I've been doing fairly well with for the past 10 years.

@Deputy-Cartman Honestly, I doubt you're going to get any sympathy in this forum. I'm not sure why you're entire focus, once becoming ill, wasn't put towards canceling or delaying your trip. Most of all during COVID. You understand that even the slightest cough potentially means you might be quarantined for 14 days. Not that we don't care, we do, but unless you can provide us with the requested documentation in regard to showing us another airline that will 100% refund your money after you fail to board and not cancel, then we will join you in the fight.

@gsking @fhknapp @shelbyusn @dfwskier For what it's worth, I agree with all of you. I've never been a "check what kind of plane" I'm getting type of person. So I guess I'm going to take the middle road and do that for the first 6 months or more to find out what I already suspect, no crashes. I have enough anxiety when I fly to add more. Just will have to suck it up and take a different flight even if it is a 1 stopper. Just like it took 2 months of not flying until I seen that SWA was talking all the precautions and we got data before I booked a flight during COVID.

@Njc510 I'm assuming you are talking about "Sunglasses." So I'm wondering why you would risk a $400 pair of glasses to be in a bag to get crushed, scratched, or whatever. Yes, you should feel safe, but why weren't you wearing them. I actually buy $3 sunglasses to make sure I have them on my flight and so on. Suffice to say, there are criminal elements in every segment of society. There are people at my own employment that I don't trust. Does that make my employment responsible? Not really, but it bites when these things happen. I hope you turn in your report as mentioned. Maybe they might catch this single bad apple and get somebody in there that might be more responsible towards other property.

@Snarfster Thanks for sharing. I'm sure I would have heard it on the news, but now I already know. Actually, there are several times that I have actually looked (since COVID) at other airlines to see how the fares compared to SWA. I've found on some, about the same, others even lower, (but bag fees made it the same) Now that I'm pretty sure that the credit card points will get me over the companion ticket top, I will go with Delta if the prices are petty much the same...and even a bit more. I've got to learn to stuff more things into one bag, but I'm a runner and half my clothes are running equipment...

@TheMiddleSeat I can't say for sure, but I think the way of the peanut is gone with so many who have peanut allergies. I've been on a few flights where it was announced that the FA wouldn't be passing out any due to a passenger who had the allergy. I wasn't that upset and didn't mind complying. Good thing I didn't stop at the snack store and have already loaded up on a during flight snack of nuts with peanuts. I'm personally more favorable towards cookies myself.

@gsking My only rebuttal to that is, My home airport is Albuquerque, NM. There is not any chair seating with a USB plug-in like I see in so many other airports. What we have is a couple of charging areas that are not obsolete as far as being able to keep social distancing. So even when I do take a charger, I'm better off biting the bullet than get near one of those stations where way too many people take advantage of placing a drink or snack so they can sit there with their mask off as well. But I get your point.

@gsking Yep, I've been all about the exchange of wifi over a drink, and yes, I'm a drinker and love the latest IPA they had on their menu. But if you gave me the option, I'd take the free wifi and buy myself that refreshing drink. Wish we had the choice.

Agree, use it quite often. Was doing lots of home improvement projects until Home Depot removed themselves, I was really racking up the points with them even at 1 per 1 dollar spent.

Consumer beware: Just know that there are about 17 things you have to satisfy to make the purchase legitimate. I will just name one, You do have to be logged into the SWRR Partners link. You just can't go out and start shopping and put something on your card. So that means, it will be shipped to you, you won't walk out with the product at that time. That's a bummer, BOOOOMMM, just like that I'm back to the drawing board. But there are others you should look at too.

If you don't live in the LA area, you really can't give this a LOVE. So what determines that you will only do this for a designated SWA area. Do you know it makes the rest of us who live in the hundreds of other SWA hubs feel like that "red-headed step child!" (Sorry, no offense to red-headed people or step-children) just an expression.

@jksobonya I agree with you, and the key thought is, "in the future." I don't think with losing at least a billion dollars or more SWA or any airlines is contemplating physical changes that are going to cost them millions to implement. Also, the idea of SWA, peanut flights, was created that the consumer knows it's giving up some luxury items for (debatable) lower prices.
