It looks like there are multiple displays representing multiple countries.... This is a complete guess... but could that hashtag just mean: LAS (Las Vegas airport code) SWA (Southwest Airlines) Samoa (Perhaps the country being represented by that particular display?)

Very nice pictures. If I had to guess, I would imagine the display may have something to do with May being Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

By this time the past few days, Southwest had already cancelled 50% or more of their flights the following day. Today (Thursday) is showing a total of 39 cancelled flights for Friday (less than 1% of the schedule.). I also read that Southwest has resumed selling tickets for flights beginning on Friday. It really looks like they may be on track to operate a fairly regular schedule on Friday.

Most customer-facing employees at Southwest have nametags or wings on that show their first name.
There is NO reason a passenger should ever need more than that if they have a complaint. Southwest can go back and see who was working at any gate or on any flight on any given day with just a first name. I do not work for Southwest but I DO work in a public-facing job where we are required to wear ID badges with our full names on them. I can tell you MULTIPLE stories of co-workers being tracked down and sent messages on social media, Facebook, etc by customers who read full names off of ID badges. I can tell you that my coworkers who have experienced this have found it quite unsettling.
With the way the world is these days, it can actually be quite a safety concern for a disgruntled or irate customer to know an employee's full name.

I am stumped.... When I go to Southwest's website and look up your flights....
It shows flights 782 and 2580 are the one connection flight through Baltimore....
But it shows flight 782 arrives in Baltimore at 11:55am.
I can't explain why your itinerary shows a 2:00pm arrival in Baltimore.
I wish I could help but I don't know.

Are you sure you picked the flight that ONLY stops in Baltimore? There is an option for a 10:25am flight from Manchester to Baltimore that arrives Baltimore at 11:55am and connects to a 2:55pm flight from Baltimore that arrives in Atlanta at 4:45pm. HOWEVER....
There is also an option for that SAME 10:25am flight.... BUT you stay on the airplane in Baltimore and take that plane on to Columbus, Ohio and arrive in COLUMBUS at 2:00pm.... then in Columbus connect to a 2:55 flight from Columbus to Atlanta arriving at 4:25pm. Are you sure you aren't booked on the second option?

I can confirm that the "lounge" seats existed in the years AFTER 9/11 and was installed in then-new -700 series aircraft in the old brown/orange/red checkered cloth seats.
I know I was on several in the mid-2000s.

From a USA Today article dated September 10, 2021: Southwest Airlines does not plan to resume onboard alcohol sales until at least January, according to a memo sent to flight attendants on Friday. The timeline is tied to the extension of the federal mask mandate on airplanes and at airports. "With the mask mandate being extended to January 18, 2022, there are no current plans to bring back alcohol prior to January 2022,'' Randall Miller, senior manager of inflight ops, initiatives and design said in the memo.

Okay.... dumb question on my part... I admit it. I have a flight coming up in the next few days and I honestly DO NOT remember if I purchased Early Bird Check In. Under "Extras" it DOES show a little sunshine logo which is explained below to mean "Early Bird Check In." So... since the little sun is there... I paid for it, right? (Just wondering if I have to be up early to check in the day before.) Thanks in advance!

I have seen this before. I once sat in a row with a passenger who told me he had purchased two seats because of his size. I remember he placed a boarding pass in the middle seat that said something like "Seat Reserved" in bold print.

Let me start by saying that I know that this is not a forum monitored by Southwest Airlines. I am not here to complain. I am here to explain what happened to me and ask IF my request was handled properly and whether I should seek a refund. Myself and two friends were traveling this morning on the start of a long weekend. We were all booked on different reservations on the same nonstop flight to our destination. Late last night, we discovered that our nonstop flight had been cancelled. My two friends were booked on a new connecting itinerary... AAA-CCC-BBB. With their new connecting itinerary, they were going to arrive 3 hours after our original nonstop. I was booked on a different route.... AAA-DDD-BBB. I was leaving at almost the same time they were but I was going to arrive almost 5 hours after our original flight. I called the 1-800 number and explained the situation. I asked if I could be rebooked on the same flights my friends had been rebooked on so they would not have to wait around for two hours for me to arrive. The gentleman at the 1-800 number told me the only way I could get on their flight was to pay a fare difference of $119. I did not want to argue so I went ahead and paid the $119. My question is: Does this seem right? Is it worth my time to contact customer relations for a refund? Thanks in advance for your insight.

I may be completely wrong but I think with the surge in bad passenger behavior being reported in the media and the battles over masks on airplanes, I bet a lot of flight attendants are taking a more serious tone and approach to their jobs to set the right atmosphere - "This is not the place to be acting like a fool" - and to establish their position as a person with authority - not your buddy. Again... I could be wrong.

You asked: "But do peers of the industry really think the policy is written that in between every bite sip and chew the mask is to be replaced. Or is the policy that a reasonable amount of time to consume your just delivered snack is ok to not wear a mask but after a reasonable time it must be returned to its proper position." I have taken four flights on Southwest since you made your post on Saturday. (2 flights in each direction of a trip.) After reading your post, I paid close attention to the announcements the flight attendants made. On three of the four flights (all with different crews), the flight attendants used the phrase "replace your mask between sips and bites." Three of the four used that EXACT phrase. Not between "drinks and bites" or "gulps and chews." Three of them specifically said "replace your masks between sips and bites." It was obvious they were reading from a prepared script. I would guess that is the policy.

I normally travel on Southwest around ten times a year for the past several years (excluding the craziness of last year).... I always buy Early Bird just so I do not have to wake up super early do check-in. I can tell you that my number are USUALLY in the highest of As... occasionally low Bs. That's just my common experience.

" Quote from an interview with Herb Kelleher (who you may or may not know was one of the founders and long time president of Southwest Airlines): But aren’t customers always right? “No, they are not,” Kelleher snaps. “And I think that’s one of the biggest betrayals of employees a boss can possibly commit. The customer is sometimes wrong. We don’t carry those sorts of customers. We write to them and say, ‘Fly somebody else. Don’t abuse our people.’”

From CNN: Southwest Airlines not resuming alcohol service after assault on flight attendant (CNN) — Southwest Airlines said Friday it will not resume alcohol service as planned after the recent assault on one of its flight attendants, according to an internal memo obtained by CNN. Sonya Lacore, Southwest's head of in-flight operations, wrote in the memo related to alcohol service that "based on the rise in passenger disruptions in flight, I've made the decision to re-evaluate the restart of alcohol service on board."

Most likely, at some point during the day, another plane was pulled into service to get the flight back on time. The aircraft that ultimately operated your flight was probably not the same one that was originally supposed to operate it.
