I guess we will see. SWA has diluted and watered down A-list threshold requirements to the point that most any casual infrequent flyer can achieve A-list, so there are a lot of A-list flyers these days.

They "can do" that for the first few rows, but literally that defeats the whole premium seating concept they are trying to push so that's unlikely to be their plan.

Look at the bright side, this should stop people from imagining they hear songs being sung about pre-boarding.

Actually They can be asked per the Final Guidance Memo dated June 29, 2013
https://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer/preboarding-notice-final
From the Memo:
"For a passenger to be entitled to preboarding, that passenger must self-identify at the gate as being a person with a disability that needs to preboard for one of the above-listed reasons."
They may be asked to provide, one of the above listed reasons. If gate agents were properly trained to ask the question correctly, the shills and scammers would most likely fade back into their assigned boarding positions.
Will this happen?
Unlikely too much time would be expanded.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate decisions and ultimately unsatisfactory results.
Not sure you can really blame Southwest for this.
I learned as child while watching groceries being bagged, Soap and Food NEVER go in the same "bag or box" because of the potential for cross contaminated, even though they are packaged separately.
I can't imagine showing up at baggage check-in without airline approved packaging to transport $700.00 of anything.
Own you decisions, learn from your decisions. This is not on the Airline.

Odd, as an A-List Preferred frequent flyer, there is the A-list 800# which is is quick and easy. Whenever I have to speak with some one, a person is on the phone almost immediately or with zero hold time.
If you call the standard 800# I can't even imagine how frustrating that would be.
Are you utilizing this benefit for Southwest frequent flyers?

This may not entirely obliterate Jetway Jesus, but it will put a "hurting" on him.
Having to pay to receive the benefit that others, (Honest people), either pay for or have earned through frequent flying will cause most scammers to melt back in to the lines where they should have been waiting in anyways

I've posted this previously, but SWA can ask for the "reason" to pre-board it's stated right here on the DOT web site Pre-Boarding Notice Final:
chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.transportation.gov/sites/dot.gov/files/docs/Preboarding%20Notice%20Final_0.pdf
"In the revised final rule published on May 13, 2008, the Department expanded the preboarding requirement to cover not only people who need a specific seat assignment or who need to stow their personal folding wheelchairs, but also to cover passengers that “need additional time or assistance to board, stow accessibility equipment, or be seated.” For a passenger to be entitled to preboarding, that passenger must self-identify at the gate as being a person with a disability that needs to preboard for one of the above-listed reasons."
Southwest can ask for the reason- then they need to shut up and if the potential pre-boarder cannot articulate one of the "above listed reasons", Then Get back in Line.

Ultimately whether you stay with SWA has got to be your decision based on benefits you perceive you receive.
For Me, personally, The primary benefit is about the # of non-stop direct flights that are available from my home airport. I can literally travel anywhere I need to for business, domestically, without changing planes or making a connection.
That's about it and that's what is important to me.
The clownish abuse of the boarding process is a problem, but as long as I have status I'll live with it.
Weigh the scales for yourself and safe travels

I'm NO battery expert but if it's a lithium battery, the battery will need to removed and stowed in the cabin. The scooter rides with the bags below. Either way you will want to make sure you are thoroughly familiar with both disconnection, removal, and replacement of the batteries in your unit. Otherwise you'll be depending on some one else to perform this task and if it ends up broken....well good luck.

Is it doable? Absolutely, they would not sell it unless that was the case.
Is it practical? Not really, SWA international flights usually start boarding 45 minutes before departure.
Schedule a longer lay over for peace of mind if you can.
btw, I did a quick search and all the connecting flights I saw to Nassau from BWI via MCO had 4 to 5 hour lay overs. Not sure when you are flying but you may want to double check your itinerary

I had a similar issue with my Companion this past winter, in Jan. (I'm A-list Preferred, booked our flight 6+ months before, On points, Converted her to Companion when I re-earned my CP for 2024 in Sept.), Out bound flight on check-in, I got assigned A-20 something. she got B-30ish.
No explanation, obviously not sequential, and no changes made to the reservation for at least 3 months before the actual flight. I just used one of the annual 4 upgraded boarding credits I get on my CC and she boarded like A-3.
(We are not a seat savers, "be part of the solution NOT part of the problem" is my motto.)
SWA agent could not provide any reasoning why the sequential boarding #'s did not happen.
On the Return flight, we got a sequential boarding #'s.
Long story short, Sequential boarding usually occurs BUT may not always.
