In case she plans to already check two other bags, I should add that a wheelchair does not count toward the baggage limit on any airline, so long as there are no other personal items in the bag. If you also have other belongings in the bag with the wheelchair, the airline can count that bag toward your checked items.

Southwest allows one free carry on and two free checked bags per passenger, so as long as it's not oversized or overweight, and she doesn't already have two other bags she plans to check then it wouldn't be an issue.
Checked bags:
Up to 50 pounds each
62 inches in size (length + width + height)

To summarize, you booked a non-refundable room and you're angry because they won't give you a refund. You got an agent who was kind enough to let you move it to a future date (rare because non-refundable rooms are typically not changeable), yet you're still mad because they won't also give you a partial refund... on your non-refundable booking.

This is an old post. SW no longer requires military to be in uniform. Only CAC like every other airline.

If you want to ensure your entire party gets seated together on a Southwest flight, you can do so by purchasing Business Select fares for each person on your reservation. You will all have boarding positions between A1-A15.

I guess my question is what do they mean by over two?
Are we talking the day after their second birthday they aren't considered a lap child, or they are a lap child until they turn 3?
It's before their second birthday.
"One child over 14 days and under two (2) years of age, not occupying a seat, may be carried as a Lap Child when traveling with an adult (12 years of age or older)."

Only the 3 year old and 6 year old are guaranteed to receive family boarding. You can request assistance with the other two from the gate agents, but there's no guarantee you'll receive it as the policy only applies to children 6 years old and under. If it were me, I would pay for upgraded boarding for the 9 and 10 year old children. I understand you don't want to leave them alone, so that way they could at least board ahead of you instead of you leaving them alone at the gate. If they went towards the back of the plane you'd almost be guaranteed to sit together once the rest of you board during family boarding. The people who pay for early boarding almost always choose the front of the plane.
If you're traveling with a child six years old or younger:
Up to two adults traveling with a child six years old or younger may board during Family Boarding, which occurs after the “A” group has boarded and before the “B” group begins boarding.
If you are traveling with a child age seven to 13 years old:
If you need and request assistance, Southwest will endeavor to seat a child next to one accompanying passenger (14 and older) to the maximum extent practicable and at no additional cost.
Families can speak to Gate Agents or Flight Attendants to request assistance.

Your payment date is irrelevant, it goes off the statement closing date. Once you spend the $4k there's nothing you can do to speed up the award. They'll issue it automatically after the statement closing date.

For anyone who purchases Anytime fares, just curious to hear how decent the boarding positions are that you've received in the past. I often purchase BS, but since we now have a CP I'll probably start buying Anytime fare when we're flying together since BS doesn't include sequential boarding positions. Since they're assigned at T-36 with Anytime first then EBCI, is it fairly safe to assume you'd get a decent boarding position if you book an Anytime fare close to the flight date?

Hi there! The policy on the SWA website is clear. I would NEVER trust anything an agent tells me over the phone that contradicts what is clearly stated on the website. If there are conflicting opinions between agents once you get to the airport, they're going to stick with what's in the written policy.
Bicycles (defined as non-motorized and having a single seat) properly packed in a bicycle box or hard case from 51 to 100 pounds in weight or 63 to 80 inches in total dimensions. Pedals and handlebars must be removed and packaged in protective materials so as not to be damaged by or cause damage to other baggage. Bicycles packaged in cardboard or soft-sided cases will be transported as limited release items. Bicycles over 100 pounds in weight and/or 80 inches in total dimensions cannot be checked as baggage and can only be shipped as Cargo if the Customer is a Known Shipper.

Yes, because the flight gets counted towards the Rapid Rewards number of the person flying, not the person making the purchase.

Yes I'm sure it's because of your faith, it couldn't possibly have anything to do with your demanding, entitled attitude.

I fail to see how your husband's occupation is relevant, unless you think he should be treated preferentially over an electrician, plumber, or cashier. If that's the case it seems that you're on board with discriminatory treatment as long as it benefits you.
As @dfwskier pointed out, you're copy/pasting your original post as replies on other threads. If you want a response from Southwest then do as he suggested and contact Southwest. Stop hijacking other people's threads demanding a response.

Thanks for the reply 🙂 The fact that the flight confirmation number did not change is what made me think there was a possibility it would keep the timestamp from the original booking. That's definitely helpful to know for the future because I like to book my flights early, so if I know I'm going to get bumped to the end of the boarding assignment line to save 15 or 20 bucks then it's probably not worth it to me to change it.

I just changed an Anytime Fare flight to take advantage of a price drop, and a question occurred to me. Since the 36-hour boarding assignments (excluding A-list passengers) are made in order of Anytime fares in the order they were purchased, followed by EBCI in the order they were purchased, does changing an Anytime Fare flight to take advantage of a price drop lower your position in line for boarding assignment by changing the time stamp of your purchase? Or does the initial date of purchase stand since you're not changing the flight to a different location/date/time?
I don't have a problem, just curious if anyone knows since the thought popped into my head.

Blake,
I will be qualifying for the companion pass in a few weeks. Can I book my flight for a summer trip now, then after I qualify, use the companion pass to add my companion to that flight? Or does the flight need to be purchased after I have qualified? Thank you for this clarification.
YES! You can book your flight now, and whenever you get the CP you can add your companion. We just did this, booked 4 flights last month and then added companion when we got the CP in March. After you have the CP, under your Upcoming Trips you'll see a link to "Add Companion" next to each flight.
