WGA fares are not refundable to the original payment method, so you would receive a flight credit. As long as you entered your rapid rewards number when booking with the third-party (in this case, Chase Travel), it should show up in your SW account immediately after you cancel the flight.

I've never transferred points before, so I figured I was a good guinea pig to test out the process after reading this post. It indicated to me in six places that there would be a cost associated with the transfer. I did not read the terms and conditions, I simply clicked through the process and found it to be very clear.
I understand that people make mistakes, but I didn't find the process to be misleading or predatory as I read here.

If I'm reading correctly...
If I am booking for my party of 4, as long as each individual has registered for the promotion, and I have the rapid rewards numbers on the single reservation, each traveler qualifies for their own companion pass.
And we don't have to book 4 separate reservations?
Thanks
Correct.

Is it possible the e-mail you are referring to was in regards to Rapid Rewards Dining? I get these periodically and they resemble promotional emails from SW/Chase since they offer SW points for dining out (but you can link any card for the points, doesn't have to be a Chase card). Here's a screenshot from one.

The six month expiration rule is the case in many countries (most of Europe requires your passport to be valid for at least six months after entry), but the last I checked Mexico did not have such a requirement. I would encourage you to confirm that directly on their official website as travel requirements are often changing.

Yes, it is possible as long as:
your origin airport, destination airport, and day of travel are the same, and
you request to be added to the same-day standby list at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure of your original flight (at least 30 minutes if using the Southwest app or mobile web)
From reading your post, it sounds like that's your goal. However, here's where I'd caution you: Since you're booking around Christmas time, flights are typically pretty full. So to achieve your goal, you would need a total of 4 open seats to become available on your desired flight. All of the A List and A List +passengers get priority in the standby queue. So there's a chance your plan could work, but I would be prepared to sit at the airport until your original scheduled flight departure in case you don't get that lucky to get 4 seats opened up (assuming your family wants to travel together).

This response helped so much in our planning! Does a family need to let staff know that they will be using this option prior to the start of boarding or does every flight announce family boarding automatically? Thank you!
Family boarding is announced during boarding for every flight.

That is absolutely terrible and I'm sorry it happened to you. However I don't think the blanket statement "Do NOT use Southwest Airlines to book a hotel reservation" is warranted. Many of us use them regularly in order to keep Companion Pass and in most cases there are no issues.

Hi, this is my first time flying through Southwest. I will be with my family of 6. We have 3 adults, an 11 year old, and 2 and 4 year old babies. From what I seen about Southwest policy, are we all able to board together at once and is it true after A group boards we will be able to? Thanks for the help 🙂
That means by rule, your 2 and 4 year old's with their accompanying adults will be able to utilize the Family Boarding perk and have an accompanying adult sitting with them regardless of your assigned boarding position. I would have 2 of the 3 adults from your party utilize the perk. For the 11 year-old and the 3rd adult, here's the policy:
When the two adults board with the 2 and 4 year old children during family boarding, I would have them go a row towards the back of the plane. Have one adult sit in each aisle seat of the row, and one child at each of the window seats, leaving both middle seats in the row open. Other travelers will want to avoid sitting in a middle seat next to a young child, so when the last adult boards with the 11 year old, they can fill in those two middle seats and your family will have the entire row.

You say your purse was so tiny it only held a phone, wallet, and ID... yet you had to spend 20 minutes emptying your entire suitcase to fit it in there? I call BS.
It was, however, nice of you to apologize to the other passengers on the flight for the late departure, because it was absolutely your fault for not complying with the stated rules.
Your post is painful to read. It's really not that difficult to use the shift key.

Highly unlikely. Boeing has only been able to deliver about 20 planes of the 85 that Southwest was expecting to receive this year. Because of that Southwest has already had to cancel existing routes.

I thought the credit cards came with free upgraded boarding several per year depending on the card you have. You charge it to your card then you get a statement credit for it
There is still a tier that doesn’t include it, I forget the names of the card tiers.
The card with the lowest annual fee (only $69) offers EBCI instead of Upgraded Boarding. I think that one is called the Premier RR card.

Hi there,
Unfortunately I don't think you'll have much luck right now. A Southwest employee posted this comment here on Monday:
"In response to aircraft delivery delays and planned capacity reductions, we’ve made the difficult decision to suspend hiring for most non-contract roles. That said, we'll still hire for a small number of roles that are critical to our operation, which you can find and apply to on https://careers.southwestair.com/. "

This should happen automatically since the change isn’t recent, it went into effect May 2023. Just make sure you are on the same reservation and you enter the adult passenger’s pre-check number when booking.
I will add there is always the possibility for exceptions:
TSA’s website notes “Children 13 to 17 may be randomly excluded from receiving TSA PreCheck on their boarding pass. In these cases, they must go through standard security screening.”

Cameron was just doing his job by telling you that you could not stow your carry-on in front of you when you were seated in the first row. This is 100% normal when you're in a row that does not have seats in front of you.
He was also doing his job by asking you not to go against the flow of traffic to get your bag while other passengers were deplaning. This is fairly standard plane etiquette.
Your complaint that you received a cup of coke instead of a can of coke is petty considering the drinks are complimentary. If there were turbulence you would have received NO coke.

Airlines need to enforce stricter rules, requiring a doctor's notes. Then there would not be as much abuse. Basically you can show up at the curb and request a wheelchair and then suddenly you are pre-border (if you have no shame).
It's been discussed many times on this forum. Yes it's terribly abused, but it's against federal law for the airline to require a doctor's note.

The QR code will be on the boarding pass, which you will be able to access 24 hours prior to the flight when you check in. Until then, you can view the reservation here using your confirmation # and passenger name.

Interesting. Another user reported the same issue this week when using Apple Pay. I'm surprised that this has been a known issue for months and SW still offers it as a payment option.
Would be nice if there were somewhere to put a PSA not to use Apple Pay with Southwest.

Never book third party! Bood directly with the hotel and directly with the airline. Otherwise you are just asking for truoble. Not worth the few bucks you might save.
While I absolutely agree with this, booking Points Plus hotels through SW Hotels is one of the fastest ways to earn and keep your Companion Pass each year. For that reason I roll the dice on the third-party bookings, and once I have reached the required points for CP for the next year, I go back to booking direct. Luckily I have never had an issue with SW Hotels, but I willingly accept the risk in exchange for CP.
