If you know someone with Rapid Rewards points, they could transfer the points you need to you, but there is a fee. You also could purchase the remaining points. Other than what's been mentioned about the charities, I'm don't think there are any other options.

Make sure to reach out to Southwest directly, they love to hear good things about their Employees!

I appreciate your situation and understand your frustration so I thought I would add my two cents. Southwest does give Passengers the ability to add special service needs to their reservations. That said, the people providing the services are actually airport employees and work for the individual airports, not Southwest. I get that your upset that service isn't readily available once you get to the airport but since people arrive at the airport at all different times for their flights, assistants can't be waiting at the curb for each individual Passenger. That said, once the request is made at the airport, usually to a Southwest Employee by Southwest Passengers, that Employee will get that service to the Passenger as soon as possible. I hope this helps! Save travels!

To give you the best chance to all sit together, yes, you should probably purchase EarlyBird since your kids are too old to family board. If you don't, and get later boarding positions, Southwest Passengers are generally understanding and you could probably get a couple to move seats so at least each of your kids can sit next to a parent. Since this is the first time your kids are flying, depending on the length, they can get antsy. Especially since Southwest now offers more free inflight entertainment, download the app ahead of time so you can watch tv, movies, etc. Have a great trip!

As to the taxes changing, are you flying internationally? International taxes change more frequently than the domestic taxes do.

If you are going to buy one Upgraded Boarding and then save a seat, at least be courteous and do it in the back half of the plane.

I understand your frustration with the connecting flight not being held. Sometimes Southwest is able to do that and sometimes not because all those people on your connecting flight may have had connections to make later on and if they delayed the flight, those people would miss their connections. I am glad to hear that you were offered the voucher; that could turn out to be a free flight somewhere. Either way, this was definitely a frustrating experience and I'm sure your next one will be better. Happy travels!

No, if you are flying on a ticket purchased with points you won't earn any points (toward Companion Pass, Tier status, or otherwise).

Busniess Select tickets get you an A1-A15 boarding position, a free alcoholic beverage, are refundable, priority security lane at some airports, and a lot more rapid rewards points per dollar spent on airfare than Anytime or WGA fares.

This sounds like an exciting trip for you and your children! You won't need any type of id or their birth certificates for your children as they are young. Just an fyi, the plane is configured with 3 seats on each side of the aisle so I would recommend putting your kids on one side and you sit directly across from them. I have traveled with children before and I would also suggest you bring something for them to do on the plane (snacks, electronics, books, etc.) to keep them preoccupied. Lastly, bring suckers for the kids for during take off and landing to help with their ears so they don't get uncomfortable. EarlyBird is an add on feature where your boarding positions are chosen 36 hours prior to departure. You will still need to get online and print your boarding passes within 24 hours or departure or just pick them up at the airport. The thing with EarlyBird is your boarding positions are picked before those without EarlyBird so you will get on the plane sooner. Hope this helps!

If neither of the other two suggestions works, you should contact customer relations and they'll get you taken care of. Sometimes there are issues and travel funds don't process correctly and customer relations needs to correct it.

I don't think you can add it to your group reservation but you should still be able to board after the A boarding group. Last I remember, to get points from a group reservation you have to contact Customer Relations after your travel is complete and they would add the points to your account.

A lot of people experience the anxiety while flying that you do. I would recommend bringing something to do on the plane to stay busy and keep your mind off flying: a book, download a movie on your phone/tablet, etc. Also, let the crew know when you get onboard and they will do everything they can to make you comfortable; Southwest is great at that. And, it's not an inconvenience to meet the pilots when you board. They would be more than happy to calm your fear of flying. Have a great flight on Thursday!

That is awesome! Make sure to reach out to Customer Relations so the flight attendant can get the recognition she deserves. Southwest loves hearing when their employees go above and beyond to help out a customer.

It could be, depending on how old your son is. Just reach out to Customer Relations and they'll be able to change the dob on the reservation. Just be aware that you may need to send in a copy of his birth certificate for them to change it.

It never is fun to pay more but supply and demand dictated the price increase, I'm sure. Since it is so popular and so many people are buying it, people weren't getting the benefit. It's really not a benefit to buy EarlyBird and get a mid "B" boarding position.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Southwest does not currently have interline agreements with other airlines so regardless of the reason for cancelation, they will not book you on a different airline.

If this is a duplicate booking as you say, all the details of the reservations are exactly the same, Customer Relations should be able to refund it as a duplicate booking. Since you can't reach them by phone, email them through the contact us link on the website, explain the situation, and give them the two confirmation numbers.

To add on, Rapid Rewards shopping is even easier than Rapid Rewards dining because with dining you have to find a participating restaurant and may have to spend more than you want. With shopping, you can buy something online for just a few dollars and choose in store pickup to avoid shipping fees. And, you can buy something you were going to buy anyway.

I hear what you're saying, but not to sound too sarcastic, isn't it great that Southwest doesn't charge change fees, baggage fees, etc., just like all the other airlines (including Jet Blue)?

Just remember, you had to have reported the damage to Southwest within 4 hours of when you received your luggage (if this was a domestic flight). That said, as this is mainly a Customer to Customer forum, I suggest you reach out to Southwest directly through their Customer Relations Department.

The funds will be on the original confirmation number. Your daughters' credit will remain under their name and will only be able to be used for a new reservation for them.
