I do not have any personal experience with it so you may be correct. I was just going off what I've seen reported elsewhere. Either way, a change will at least retain EBCI vs canceling and rebooking.

So instead of replying to your older post (https://www.southwestaircommunity.com/t5/Boarding/TSA-Pre-Check/m-p/60390/highlight/true#M881) where we asked for more information, you're just going to complain more?

I kind of doubt it, from the client side I haven't ever seen an option to combine points and cash for a single booking. The usual recommendation is to buy the extra points so that you could book things straight through in one reservation. Depending on the relative prices today that might be an option to cancel and re-book all on points. I'm not sure of the reason for requiring straight through on revenue flights, other than it's a pain to go retrieve checked bags and go through security again, and if the first leg is delayed or cancelled then you'd benefit from having everything in one reservation but I'm interested to hear if there is a reason from TSA or the international security organizations to do it that way. I think part of that maybe was related to the old ticketing system, but you'd be better able to find out more details about that and let us know if that was the complicating factor...maybe its not an issue now?

While logged into your account select the flights, then put whomever is traveling in the "Who's Flying" section of the checkout. If you cancel a points reservation the points are refunded back to the account they came from.

Is this for multiple seats? If so sometimes there is one ticket available at the lower price, but if you are buying two tickets together the second ticket can determine the price for both at the next increment.

Come to find out, Southwest will be discontinuing all direct flights from Houston-Hobby to Aruba starting March 8, 2018, 2 days before spring break! Not a good decision at all! Yea, I get they want to have flights from FLL now to Aruba, but to totally eliminate flights from Houston to Aruba is very puzzling. Now they list to go to BWI first then Aruba?! Please. Plus trying to get from Houston to FLL, they don't even offer an early AM flight to get there, to even connect at FLL to go onto Aruba! Makes no sense. And trying to go from Houston to FLL the day before and stay over, they want to charge almost $500 one way! Come on Southwest, get with it! Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is a known issue with KTNs populating from a customer's profile to their actual reservations. The issue is sporadic, and seems to affect only some customers. The best advice is to always check every itinerary to make sure that the KTN has been applied prior to travel. If not, it can be added by the customer or by calling Southwest.

Yes, Southwest does occasionally offer challenges, sometimes for A-List, sometimes for a Companion Pass. They are usually very narrowly focused on specific markets, destinations, or a group of flyers that don't have any obvious similarities. I personally wouldn't count on getting a promotional offer before the end of the year so if you you're short a few flights start making plans to get a few extra in before the year is over. BTW, the offers come via email and are also listed in your account online under the Promotions section.

Yes. If you purchased Wanna Get Away fare tickets for your daughter you will get travel funds that she can use for flights within one year of the original purchase. You can use those funds to pay the taxes on the Companion Pass flights or for tickets if she flies without you. Points will be refunded to your account.

After you get the card/cards I would create a Chase online account. Then up in the upper left corner of the website there is a dropdown menu where you can secure message Chase. They are very good about answering questions and giving very clear answers. I would definiely wait for the Oct 1 date and apply for both cards. Be sure not to complete the spend on either of the cards to early or one of them will create points for 2017 and another possibly for 2018 and you would completely miss your companion pass.

In addition to the weather advisory situation, you might also try writing out the issue in some detail and mailing it to Customer Service along with receipts. The company tries to make things right but it needs all the information which is difficult to gather on the phone in a situation with duplicate weather emergencies. No promises and of course, I don't know the entire situation in detail, but it might be worth the cost of one first class mailing. It is a good company, and I hope you won't dismiss them due to one bad experience.

To do that, you have to call Southwest to change the departure airport from FLL to TPA. If you do not board the plane in FLL, please read below. "If you do not plan to travel on your flight:" In accordance with Southwest’s No Show Policy, if you are not planning to travel on any portion of this itinerary, please cancel your reservation at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of your flight. Customers who fail to cancel reservations for a Wanna Get Away fare segment at least ten (10) minutes prior to travel and who do not board the flight will be considered a no show, and all remaining unused Wanna Get Away funds will be forfeited. All remaining unused Business Select and Anytime funds will be converted to reusable travel funds for the originally ticketed Passenger only. If you no show your reward travel reservation, the points will be redeposited to the purchaser’s Rapid Rewards account. Any taxes and fees associated with your reward travel reservation will be held for future use in the form of reusable travel funds under the name of the traveler(s).

What TheMIddleSeat said. Plus, carry on personal items go under the seat in front of you, so row 1 under-seat storage is for the people in row 2. Those in row 1 must use the overhead compartment.

Refund or placement on another flight is as good as you're going to get. Schedule changes happen, but usually there's some notification such as an email to the flyer.

Based on on this info from https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/faqs.html?topic=group_travel I would say any group discount is probably not better than Wanna Get Away fares. It sounds like they focus more on flexibility with names and scheduling than pricing. southwest.com fares and Group fares differ in many ways, and each offers its own unique benefits. The best option for you is determined on your travel needs. southwest.com fares are often only available online and usually have limited quantities available. There may not be enough seats at the online price for your whole group. southwest.com fares tend to work best for small parties that don't need much flexibility in their travel plans. Group fares work best for parties of ten or more who may require flexibility with name changes and payments. I would say any group discount is probably not the better than Wanna Get Away fares. You can always change your flight to an earlier one, you just need to pay the difference in fare. That's exactly what any Southwest agent will tell you. You can do that anytime online or on the phone. If you're A List you can standby on any earlier flight for free.

Liquids in containers 3.4oz or smaller can go in your carry on. All your containers need to be able to fit in a quart size ziploc bag so you can only take a few. Here's more details from TSA: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/liquids-rule

You can cancel a flight up to 10 minutes prior to departure and retain credit (some exceptions for points bookings and non-WGA fares). The key is that you need to use the credit (complete travel) within one year of the initial purchase.

Thank you for reply. For Low Fare calendar, there are several issues. How often one has to monitor, how many locations to cover. Even then, acting as a some sort of search engine :), low fares are way higher than promotion deals. As for the second link, it's broken.

In general, not many deals for Mexico in the March/April time range. With large Spring Break crowds heading there at that time, there's no need to offer big discounts. Flights and hotels are already filling up.

The positive news is your reservation is still active so perhaps there is a plan to get you to Charleston. Seems like things are really day by day so it's hard to say what will be happening on Friday when you're scheduled to fly (if I did my math correctly). Today, the plane from flight 31 went to Dallas and then changed flight numbers with a different plane resuming flight 31 in Charleston. That's not a good sign for you, but again, who knows what will happen. Good luck!

@cindygailmc The problem is that flights from LBB get into FLL too late to catch the flights to PUJ and the same for the return. While Southwest can technically get you from LBB to PUJ you would need to book four flights, LBB-FLL, stay overnight in FLL, FLL-PUJ, and then repeat in reverse to go home. I imagine the same is true for any other city that offers non stop flights to PUJ, serving as a connecting point for LBB-PUJ. It would be nice if Southwest's booking system accepted overnight layovers, but it's not going to happen any time soon.

I agree. You spend the extra money and many times you are not getting a position any better than getting your boarding pass at the 24 hr mark. I feel that Southwest has been letting us down lately. They aren't the airlines they used to be!!!

We've had mixed reviews on the packaged milk containers also, some airports let these through with a testing, and others passed them right through. Otherwise an open container they will test the milk itself. An unopened container they will need to test your person for traces of any problematic materials. The trick is that for milk the open container may go bad while the shelf-stable milk is good until it is opened. However, if we had these poured into 3 oz containers then it also sails right through. (But not ten of them in your case, that would probably be too many...plus the spoilage.) The most likely scenario will be that it is allowed, but with some extra time for testing of your person so allow fifteen extra minutes arrival time at the depature airport. I'm not familiar with the pedialyte specifically, but good luck!
