If there credit good, have your spouse or companion apply for the card and you become the companion.

@mariogodinez I guess that I'm very confused by this. If you are an A-Lister, how could you not manage to use a couple of vouchers in a year period? I must have cycled through a couple of dozen of them last year.
The travel fund was in the relative's name unfortunately.

Here are the Southwest Gift Card Terms and Conditions:
https://www.southwest.com/html/air/products/gift-card-terms-and-conditions.html
Some key points (see what I did there ;)) --
A Southwest gift card can be used for Passenger travel only on Southwest Airlines, excluding Southwest Airlines group tickets.
A Southwest gift card may only be redeemed at southwest.com, on the Southwest Airlines Mobile Apps and Mobile Website (only for initial flight booking), by calling Southwest Airlines at 1-800-435-9792 (1-800 I FLY SWA), or at Southwest Airlines ticket counter locations.
A Southwest gift card is not valid for the purchase of Southwest Airlines Vacation Packages, cargo, hotel, rental car, Southwest Airlines merchandise, Southwest Airlines group tickets, EarlyBird Check-In, oversized and excess baggage fees, upgraded boarding at the airport, Pet Fare, unaccompanied minor service charge, additional Southwest gift cards, or inflight purchases. Sales tax, security fees, and passenger facilities charges may be paid for with a Southwest gift card.
Ironically, bullet #3 does not say anything about purchasing points, however, bullet #1 says that gift cards can only be used for passenger travel, so it would seem that gift cards cannot be used to purchase points.

I just bought 20k points for $302 minus my $75 credit on my Chase card which I had to use or lose. 20k points for $227 comes to .011 per point. Without the $75 credit the points would be .015 a point.

Sure, just cancel her reservation and rebook as a companion flight after you have CP and selected her as your companion. Points will be refunded to account they came from. This same method is used to "hold" a seat on flights that are likely to sell out so someone anticipating earning CP can save a spot until they get CP and can book the companion's seat. If you two are booked on one reservation now it's likely that you will need to call Southwest to cancel one of the two passengers when you are ready to make the switch. If you haven't booked it yet, book the two passengers separately so you can easily cancel. --TheMiddleSeat

@jrhartwick Someone has to be the last EarlyBird purchaser before general boarding begins. So there were 8 people between you at EBCI and someone who checked in 24 hours prior, I don't see what the issue is. The closer to departure date that you purchase EBCI the less value it has in terms of better boarding position. It still saves you the worry of having to check in exactly 24 hours prior. --TheMiddleSeat

This tends to happen often - for many promotions, in order to actually get the offer you need to do XYZ in a certain amount of time. For example, spend $3,000 in 3 months. If you don't do this, you won't get the bonus points. Many people unfortunately do not realize the terms of the offer and don't meet them, and they don't get the points. Always read the fine print! Multiple times! That way you know what you are signing up for and know what you have to do to get the offer. --Jessica

Unless prices in Orlando drop drastically in the next 2 weeks I will end up using my former employers corporate code. I am going for 22 days and will end up paying $732. Last year I went for 21 days and paid $550 with no code. Booked through Dollar in 2020, using Enterprise this year.

I think the only thing I paid was like a processing fee, 5 dollars or something, much like what I pay when I do my companion pass. Am I mistaken? You have it right. When you are not paying money for a ticket, then all of the taxes and fees normally paid as part of a t "paid" ticket, except the $5.60 TSA fee, do not apply.

Right now... no way. With 33% less passengers on each flight, overhead baggage room is plentiful. And with every southwest seat being equal (minus the overwing, front, and back rows), there really isn't any value in Early Bird.

As mentioned, once the points are transferred from Chase to SW - they are yours, no matter what happens to the credit card. BUT, if you want to have a less expensive annual card fee - remember the 149/yr fee can actually only cost you half . . . or $75 a year because you account will get a free 7500 mile annual bonus rewards . . . which is worth 75.00 toward any gift card - such as department stores, restaurants, dvds, and others. Or, Chase will be able to downgrade your card to a 60.00/yr card, and you get an extra $30 in gift cards to lower your out-of-pocket. Keeping your chase card through a downgrade will also help you immensely in getting other Chase cards that actually can pay you $2000 in cash bonus'. Once you have the first Chase card, the other cards are easily approved . . . especially the home business cards.

AND - I opened two cards last year as well. Would have been nice if we were one of those that were targeted. Oh well.... I had lost A-list last year after being very close and earning it several prior years. I was offered a promotional A-list by flying six flights during some period which I did, got the promotional A-list to tide me over, and then eventually earned it permanently applying to this year. Keep a lookout for a promotional offer sometime around the end of January.

This is my first year having this card and in the past with other southwest credit cards my points came the same month as my annual fee. I was wondering if they are holding back on the points until after I pay the annual fee. Any thoughts on this? I don't think mine are the same month, and I don't believe they are waiting for payment but just the cycle of the two activies may be slightly different.

She claims that SW and Chase have changed their policy recently and if you cancel the card you forfiet your RR points. I never heard of this and find it hard to believe. Can anyone verify this? I don't believe that she is right. I looked at the business card "Rewards Program Agreement" and saw no such language. She could check the agreement for her card. If she cancels, she should do so after a bill has been issued - that insures she'll get points for purchases shon on that bill. If she cancels before the bill comes out, she'll lose any points she might have earned as a result of the bill.

You should be able to log in to your Chase account and select to view "all transactions". When I do that in the Chase mobile app all of my payments and credits are red while all expenses are blue. Then scroll and review all of the red transactions. My $75 travel credit is labeled "TRAVEL CREDIT $75/YEAR".

You will need to hit 110,000 points in one account to do it. Its not easy but I was able when they were giving 50,000 points for a new personal card and 50,000 or more for the business card. 2 cards under one RR account is the easiest way to get it.

The Priority card offers 4 free Upgraded Boardings annually, not upgrades to Business Select. You'll need to check at the gate on the day of travel, and if available pay the $30/$40/$50 fee using the Priority card. The charge will be refunded as a statement credit.
