As for the careful wording, something like "Our records indicate that you missed a leg of your flight. We hope that you made it to your desitination safely. Within 24 hours we will need to cancel the remainder of your trip unless we here from you about the status of your travel..." Yeah, that probably opens up a can or two of other worms, but at least it would be a helpful alert that something weird happened. I definitely would be expecting an email if something like this happened, ESPECIALLY if it was a SW employee (or software) who rerouted me or had to adjust my trip on my behalf. We've been really fortunate with SW so far, so I haven't had to experience any changes quite like this to date. I would probably blindly think that if they rerouted me, they adjusted the whole itenerary accordingly to look out for my whole trip. Now, i will make a point to spend the time to go ask, if anything does happen.

I had an item (iPhone charger) go missing from the front pocket of my duffel bag in November, and just received a letter that my case is closed and nothing can be done about it. They specifically said that if it's a compartment that could have easily opened during transport, there's not anything that could be done about the contents even though my bag arrived still zippered - I feel like it was opened and the charger taken because it could be felt through the thin duffel material. Also, despite calling just under four hours after my flight arrived, the baggage service representative delayed filing a report, which is infuriating, and they cited being beyond the four hour time frame to present a case that in the letter I received. I hope you have better luck than I did. Sorry, it's a really frustrating situation to be in.

@Jtkosik1 wrote: Forced to use "Family Travel" as the closest board to my topic, I start by apologizing for its possible misleading ramifications. I live in Atlanta and will be traveling a lot to Ft. Worth. Noting that DFW and TexTrain will begin offering $2.50 one way tickets for travel directly from that airport's Terminal B to downtown Ft. Worth starting next week, I have been searching for the best way to get from Love to F.W., as I much prefer flying Southwest to other airlines. The best I have been able to cobble together from various sites including DART, is that one has to take a bus (#524 I think) from Love to the Inwood/Love train station, board a train to Victory Station and then transfer again to a second train (TRE) heading to Ft. Worth, cost $12.00. That's challenging, time consuming and expensive. Does anybody know a better way? Thank you! JK Hello. There would be two ways to get from Love Field to Ft. Worth via public transit. 1) The way you already described. The 524 bus to the Inwood/Love light rail statrion south to (actually I think it's to Union Station) where you'd catch a commuter rail TRE train west to Ft Worth. The 524 runs every 15 minutes. I think you could catch either the green or orange lines south. They run pretty frequently. TRE runs about every half hour on weekdays and about every hour on Saturdays.. TRE does not run on Sundays and holidays. I suspect this is the easiest way to do it. 2) The 524 bus to Inwood Station where you would catch an Orange Line light rail to DFW where you could pick up the Tex Train you referred to. I've heard about TexTrain, but haven't paid much attention as I'm on the Dallas side of things. Don't take the green line by mistake. You would pay 2.50 for the ride to DFW The Orange line comes in to Terminal A. Not sure how you get from A to B. If you've cleared security you just jump on the inter terminal train. Not sure what you do if you have not cleared security. edit add 3) Actually there's a third way. The 524 to Inwood station. The orange line to DFW. Catch a remote south bus to Centerport DFW Station where you would catch the TRE to Ft. Worth. Cost of TRE at DFW to Ft. Worth is $2.50. Sounds like too much work for me.

Hello. There's lots of confusion about the credit card offers. There are at least 3 running simultaneously that I am aware of: 1) $200 credit and 10,000 RR points 2) 40,000 RR points and no credit 3) 60,000 RR points and no credit It sounds like Chase thinks you sigend up for #1 above and you think that you signed up for #3 above. This has happened to multiple people that have come here for help. Because this is a Chase program, Chase has to be the one to sort it out. Southwest has no way to know what you signed up for. Southwest just adds points to your RR account when Chase tells it to do so. So, you just need to keep talking to Chase. Good luck

This Community is clearly for trolls and of no help at all, so I’ll leave you all to it. You didn't really ask a question, you vented a little about an upgrade that you'd like the airline to make and for which no one here knows if they will or won't eventually do that - seems like they don't want to though, as you stated they could add this if it was a priority.

I was told to call the Phoenix and the Salt Lake City lost and found. Once again, I left messages and no call backs. After two days of calling, I did speak a live operator and was told they only hold items for 24 hours. There has to be a better way to track a lost item. My device is still missing and I have not received a single email or phone call to give me an update. What are my options? Hi. Sorry to hear that you left the item on the plane. You need to remember that Southwest deals with tens of thousands of lost items every year. There is no way the airline has the capability of responding to tens of thousands of phone calls about those items. I'm sure the process is something like this: Southwest enters found itmes in a database. Southwest enter lost items reported in a data base. Then there's an attempt to match items that are in both databases. The best you can do is insure you have completely described your lost item to Southwest (including serial number), and then wait for the process to eveolve.

If you did make the flight you can always let southwest know in the web site about your experience and let them know what you experienced. I don’t think you will get a refund but you might get some sort of compensation for the time you had to wait so I would suggest to do it!

Merry Christmas! Yup, you are right, airline passengers receive a lot more radiation exposure than people on the ground, but unless you are on aircraft almost constantly, there's not much incremental risk. Airline flight crew and flight attendants might be at more risk as they do spend a lot of time at altitude. BTW, FAA controlers typically assign pilots the altitude at which to fly. Pilots can request different altitudes to attain better fuel economy or passenger comfort (less turbulence). Those are the determing factors, for Southwest and all airlines. So your premise that Southwest planes consistently fly at higher altitudes than planes of other carriers is basically incorrect. Further, I suspect the difference in radiation exposure of a passenger flying at 40,000 feet isn't a whle lot more than a passenger flying at 38,000 feet. Atmospheric protection is highest where the atmosphere is the most dense -- ground level to 10,000 feet. The atmosphere is pretty thin above 30,000 feet.

The lost item note however still said it was lost weeks later so I suggest trying this method. Good luck! Also re-reading the OP I see that you said 1 a.m. deplaning, so the item was probably still at the airport overnight, I hope it was found. An iPad could go several stops undetected, but a whole bag might be noticed earlier I would think.

@jamesp wrote: Getting a name changed on a ticket is a terrible experience. Agreed, although I think it is meant to be a difficult process. @jamesp wrote: Getting a name changed on a ticket is a terrible experience. I travel every other week on Southwest and for the first time had a work flight accidentally booked using my Middle Name instead of First Name. After contacting Southwest twice I discovered that I cannot change the first name and have to cancel and repay for my ticket even though the ticket is clearly connected to my identify by DOB. My challenge is my ticket purchase being handled by another company. I fly enough that I have TSA Precheck and earned a companion pass. Given I can't change the name, the ticket is now useless as I cannot use my ID or TSA Precheck with it and also can't enable my wife to travel with me using Companion Pass. If I book and pay for a new flight on my own it's now cheaper to just fly American. Looks like that will be my path unfortunately but might start flying with American more often. I don't understand why the other company that made the booking can't fix it? It should be their responsibility to track it down through all of the painful steps. Are you certain that there isn't any way for you to show your ID with middle name and fly? Obviously you would forgo the TSA PreCheck as you mentioned, and ability to add companion pass. Even the travel funds would be worthless until they expired, then maybe it would make sense to convert them to a voucher. I don't know that this process would be any easier with tickets from any other carrier. If it was noticed within the 24-hour window then it could have been canceled no questionsd asked, and then rebooked. Anyway - I'd try Southwest again, I'm sure they get people booked by middle names all the time (people that go by their middle name especially) and see what another rep can do for you. It might be worth trying again to get a second opinion. Call the A-list number too so they know you are a frequent customer off the bat. @Maybe try Twitter as well, @SouthwestAir - don't send any identying information until they ask for a direct message.

It's looking like we will have to re-schedule our vacation if the cost doesn't go down. I can understand flights being a little higher because students may be coming off of break, but $400 - $500 in one direction is completely outrageous. Can anything be done to help? I like @dfwskier 's suggestions, but also try booking for 4 people, then 3, 2 - if your group size takes up all of the remaining tickets allocated to a cost bucket, the quote will be for all tickets in the higher one. So you may find some savings by booking 1, 2, 3, or 4 tickets and then the remaining tickets at the higher rate. Obviously if you are looking at the same flight and even 1 ticket is BS only, then it's a tough travel day. If that's still too high, then alternate airports or dates will be needed.

If you are still between the dates, you could still book and fly -- as long as that is within the calendar period. If not, sorry that you missed out on A-List. The only thing I could think of as equivalent to drink coupons would be wifi or special code for the Southwest/Lyft integration for a few dollars off. remember that Southwest allocates EBCI boarding position by the date/time EBCI was purchased -- from oldest to newest. So at some point it might make more sense to just try to check in exactly 24 hours before flight time, and if you get an undesireable boarding position, then, as chgoflyer suggested, try to upgrade into a1-a15 at the gate.

Airliens don't publish load factors on individual flights. I'm also not aware of a way to see past flight schedules. IMO The best you can do is to use the link and plug in departure city and arrival city and a similiar date in the near future (ie tuesday for tuesday), and make an assumption that the past schedule will be similiar to the future schedule.
