Almost. You don't get tier qualifying points....or any points at all... when you use points. But yeah, the sale price gets close to that 1.5 cents. Good use for your credit card reimbursement if you have no use for it.

Except... facts. If they were "able" to be super spreaders, that reality would have played out long ago. But it hasn't. So you can imagine all the grim scenarios you want, based on your notions of how Covid works. But that doesn't make you correct. Thankfully, the rest of the world doesn't react to your biased and fallacious view of reality.

It was your first opportunity to even THINK about flying again? Well, I guess you don't fly very much at all. As was mentioned, you had a year to rebook a flight. You don't fly much, so you didn't think about it. Oops. Yes, if flying is rare for you, you wouldn't pay attention to the details. You had one trip that you canceled (not SWA), six months or more into Covid. And then you assumed you could just reschedule for this year. I'd be mad at your destination for canceling... not SWA. Are they even open again this year? Most of the world has resumed life. Time to get back to normal.

Hmm... someone doesn't understand travel funds, and that canceling nonrefundable fares still gives you a year to use them. By his description, he'd have PLENTY of opportunity to use the travel funds. And yet, he hasn't figured that out? And what other airline would have a BETTER cancelation policy? None I know of. Sounds like another fish story to me.

I disagree. I'd prefer companies stay in business, instead of being subject to losses by people who change their mind over the latest CNN news hype. You wonder why they cancel so many flights? Probably because of people canceling. Flying empty planes gets expensive. Cause and effect and all that. It's been 18 months. Nothing has changed with respect to air travel risks. Oh wait, they've gotten better for all of us who are vaccinated. Nothing has gotten worse with Delta for the individual traveler. If you're still booking flights, and then complaining you can't get a refund to a nonrefundable ticket, that is TOTALLY on you. You knew the rules and the situation. You're trying to game the system for your own personal benefit. No sympathy here.

I think you're asking if you can have two different companions. You can have 3 changes... so you can have 3 (maybe 4) different companions. But only one at a time. You can book your (CP owner) ticket anytime after they are released. Then, anytime before your flight, you can add the companion. The currently listed companion will get the ticket. So you can't have reserved tickets for different companions. But it's only a problem if the flight books up completely. Then you should reserve the companion seat with points to keep it from filling, and then cancel right before you book it as companion.

Rather nebulous comments you made there, but it sounds like you're complaining that the pilots mentioned wishing the mask mandate on aircraft would be over soon? Perhaps because it was recently extended from September to January, and they were being apologetic to you and the other passengers for the inconvenience? So... you think that's politicizing the debate and it hurt your feelings, because you'd rather the pilots concur with and reinforce your personal desire for Draconian mask enforcement? Just so we're on the same page for your grievance.

What do you mean? They totally helped me during Covid. They kept flying despite losing a ton of money on empty flights. Their employees even arguably risked their safety by showing up for work. But fortunately air travel doesn't seem to contribute measurably to direct Covid transmission. So I guess we totally disagree... probably on everything.

I almost couldn't care less about preboarding, since I'd rather sit in the back than wallow in all the mayhem at the front of the plane. But yeah, most of that mayhem is idiots who put too big a suitcase in the overhead... and then throw their personal item in there, too. Ignoring the rules and the free checked bags, hogging up all the space, and clogging up the aisle boarding and deboarding while they fuss with all their gear. I would LUV to see gate agents or FAs enforce those rules. No HIPPA protections for selfish morons.

Nope. The airline didn't cancel the ticket. Sorry. You need to read your link. " when the carrier cancels the passenger’s scheduled flight or makes a significant schedule change and the passenger chooses not to accept the alternative offered by the carrier. " I mean, come on, man. That link is so 2020. The ticket was purchased about 6 months AFTER that, and it's now almost a year later. I've flown almost 100k miles since Covid. If you can't find a reason to fly ONE flight, you really shouldn't be buying airline tickets. That's like someone with a peanut allergy demanding a refund on an open jar of Skippy.

I've accidentally left my bag overnight, as they collect them if left on the carousel. I've been tempted to do it on purpose when my flight is out the next day with big bags I didn't want to take home or the hotel. But it's risky, because you can't officially have them check it the night before. So I presume you're in the same boat... you can just leave it for them to pick up, but can't officially ask them to take custody of the bag. But that's just my personal experience...

You make some interesting points about ways to reward very good customers. Yeah, more flexibility in CP would be nice. But, to the rest of your concerns about seating and preboarding... it won't affect that. It's federally regulated. I can't think of a way for you to get a better seat than someone disabled (or lying about it) than being disabled (or lying about it). Assigning seats isn't the SWA way. So my only suggestion...preboard if and when you can.... fairly. The rest of the time, enjoy your BS benefits of being ahead of the pack and getting good reward points. Ignore the people ahead of you and be glad you're not them. Because they're either disabled or dishonest. And remember that if you're checking a bag, getting off the plane sooner or later won't make a difference. Relax and watch the foolish be foolish.

Eww. I flew last week with corn and figs in my carry-on from the roadside stand. TSA always gives organic material a second look. Often it's uncooked meat... whatever will spoil in my fridge. But rarely anything frozen.

Our country IS like that, for the most part. How many people, even in government, literally hate America? How many would NEVER join the military, let alone storm a beach in Normandy or Iwo Jima? How many consider stealing packages off your porch, breaking into your car, or rioting and looting a Target to be acceptable activity? Wait, no need to loot... just walk in and take it. You won't get prosecuted. All condoned by your government. There is a common societal thread of selfishness, and it's not exclusive to either party. We have a president who warned AGAINST the vaccine before he was elected, all in the name of politics and getting into office. Now that he's in, he contradicts himself every other week. And he and others do it with a level of disdain that doesn't engender compliance. Most people unsure of themselves on an issue frame it accordingly. But when you indignantly make claims with confidence and certainty when you have neither, and are proven wrong (or at least bending the truth) shortly thereafter, you lose credibility. I could continue to list the other myriad inconsistencies that abound, but you've heard them all. I agree with you.... most people should have been vaccinated by now. But you shouldn't be surprised that they're not.

You want SWA employees to get vaccinated every day? Wow. That's the best Covid fearmongering I've seen all week. And testing for the passengers? You must own stock in Emed or something. Nothing like adding $30-150 to a $39 fare to kill the industry. But wait... are you saying vaccinated passengers need to be tested too? Based on your disjointed syntax, it appears you haven't thought this out very much. You're just reacting with emotion. Please choose another airline. I don't want to be seated next to you either. I might catch something worse than Covid.

This is interesting. They managed since November just testing people. Now, they started letting in vaccinated people without getting tested. And now cases are spiking so badly they don't want people to come anymore. And yet so many people here are frothing at the mouth that if flight attendants don't get vaccinated, the world will end. Do you people understand how naive and illogical you look?

You want fewer unvaccinated individuals? Then close the border. A great source of unvaccinated AND untested individuals. Let me know when that's done. Cheers. (I'll restate we're conflating individual risk with collective benefit for society. The political issues with these types of discussions are beyond this forum)
