The Hawaii flight will have a few snacks - there's a snack pack with the usual snack mix plus cheese and crackers and two Tic Tacs, and they'll also come through with a sweet snack. I can't recall if we had one additional service of just a snack...
That said, for a 6-hour flight, I'd bring something to eat and fill a water bottle in Vegas.

Check in for your flight online 24 hours before departure. Arrive at the airport no later than 2 hours before departure (preferably 3). Bags must be checked no later than 1 hour before departure. Bags checked after that time have a very definite possibility of not making your flight and Southwest will not deliver any bags to you if you check them in late - you’ll have to return to the airport and pick them up.
Bags will be accepted starting 4 hours before departure.

I know several people who are 350lbs and they use the COS all the time without issue
my suggestion is to book the 2nd seat in advance because if the flight is sold out when you get to the counter and you haven’t purchased the seat you could be denied easier because they usually have to get a supervisor for permission to oversell the flight. Booking in advance will reduce the chance of being questioned if you are boarder line (remember it’s not about weight but if you fit in the seat) weight is not distributed the same on everyone so if you think you need it do it (extra space is nice)

They might not have processed you into the system yet and thus you may not have your SWA credentials. Once you get an email with login information from onboarding@wnco.com, you should be able to access Workday and complete any pre-employment tasks assigned to you.

You can call reservations starting at midnight the day of departure or go to the airport and ask for a same day confirmed flight change.
keep in mind you would need to make the change at least 10min before you original flight so the no show policy doesn’t kick in.
unfortunately they haven’t made it possible to make the change on the app (at least for A List members) you could try the app at midnight before calling but if it wants a fare difference then calling or visiting the airport will be your best bet but don’t wait till 5:50am to start the process or your funds will be lost
Just adding on to @bec102896's response - if you have a Wanna Get Away Plus, Anytime, or Business Select fares - you can change your flight (and get confirmed on another departure) on the app or Southwest.com for no additional charge. If they're all sold out (or say Unavailable) on the app, you'll have to go to the airport so they can add you to the Standby list, but you'd have to do it before your original flight is scheduled to depart otherwise you'd forfeit any travel funds per the No Show Policy.
Keep in mind that a same-day confirmed change does not guarantee your same boarding position - you'll likely get a later boarding position and if you purchased Early Bird Check-In, it'll have no use since you changed your flight less than 24 hours prior to departure.
That’s good to know it will let you change on the app (way better than calling) I guess it’s just an A list problem where we have to call or visit the airport hopefully that changes as time goes on.

Unfortunately I do not believe there are any direct commercial flights on any airline between Phoenix and PBI. As far as the quickest path I would suggest flying through Atlanta on what ever airline you choose. As others have suggested Fort Lauderdale is a much bigger airport and does offer non-stops from Phoenix, but as a fairly frequent traveler to South Florida I understand there is a big difference between Fort Lauderdale and and PBI especially if "family" is picking you up at the airport, assuming they can pick you up at the Fort Lauderdale airport is just plain rude, (my 2 cents).

At one point, it was required as Southwest is a federal contractor but it has now become part of a gray area. I believe it is requested that you provide documentation of vaccination when you apply for a position, but Southwest does provide accommodations for various exemptions to answer your question. Your recruiter might be able to inform you on how to request an accommodation through the hiring process.
Hope this helps!

So I board my flight today from Denver to my designation with a tight layover in Houston (Hobby). Plane arrives early, I was in the A boarding group, we board quickly....I was like yes the stars aligned for me today. Everyone takes there seat and we hear the captain state we are waiting on 12 passengers on another delayed flight. Those passengers all jump aboard and we are only 10 minutes past takeoff. Pilot speaks again...telling us he will make up the time in flight. Cool...I'll still have plenty of time to get to my next flight. A few minutes ago by and the pilot again speaks...we are just waiting on their luggage.....35 more minutes pass before the luggage is loaded. We start backing up...I'm now sweating since we are 45 minutes late leaving. Then we abruptly stop and the pilot says oops it's been so long our flight plan has expired. Then 10 minutes later he comes back on with an oops our flight plan is still good to go. We are now 55 minutes late taking off. So I ended up missing my connection by 5 minutes. I was the only one in line for a missed connection ( at least nobody was behind me in line at the service desk). Super friendly staff member apologized and SW had already rebooked my flight for the morning. She gave me a voucher for a hotel and said there was a $150 voucher waiting for me. I looked at her and she looked back and said let's make that $250. Im on the trip home so it's not a huge deal...but what hurts is not that they held the plane for 10 minutes for other passengers (that's actually cool they did that) it's that they held the plane for another 45 minutes for their luggage at the expense of me, a human passenger. They certainly didn't hold my flight for 10 minutes so I could board! Has this happened to anyone else????
I think ability to reschedule could also be a factor - someone missing a once or twice a day destination might be worse than missing a flight with frequent service. In this case they didn't catch you and it sounds like you had an overnight though so my usual theory wouldn't work.
12 people on a flight that might have also been delayed a little bit - that one makes sense to hold.
Maybe they needed that plane somewhere really badly and just couldn't balance it against a single passenger to miss a connection. Others might also have missed, but been at different gates, or had backup flight options booked automatically.

Once you log in to your Southwest Careers portal, you should be able to click Dashboard and see the status of each position that you applied for and the date that the status was last updated. The speed of the process can vary for different positions so it helps to be patient with the process. For some, it could take days, weeks, or even months. It helps to stay optimistic while being on the lookout for communication from Southwest regarding interviews or any other updates for your application.
You got this!

Early Bird does, in fact, work.
"EarlyBird Check-In® Customers will have their boarding positions reserved beginning 36 hours prior to their flight's scheduled local departure time. Boarding Passes can be accessed beginning 24 hours prior to the flight's scheduled local departure time." (https://www.southwest.com/help/booking/earlybird-checkin)
The system automatically reserves your boarding position 36 hours prior to departure, but you can only 'check-in'/retreive your boarding pass 24 hours before.
Hope that helps clear things up, but yes, you did get Early Bird according to what you described.

I don't see how anything to do with applying for a Chase credit card with be related to Southwest. Co branded just means Southwest gets paid by Chase, Southwest does not administer any part of the process.

No - once a fund is issued as a travel credit, the fund will remain valid for travel on Southwest only and will be honored until its expiration date, usually a year from the date of purchase. During early 2020, Southwest did extend the expiration date for travel credits, although such extension was stopped a while ago.

The port of entry/customs at Hobby airport is quick - you definitely should be able to make it! Southwest is the only airline that customs serves at Hobby so you can expect relatively quick service. As a reminder, after clearing customs, the customs exit is in the ground transportation area, meaning that you will have to go through TSA security/re-check any bags for the second domestic leg of your trip.

It's a mechanical issue, what do you expect Southwest or any airline to do? It's not like they just have spare aircraft sitting around ready to go. Would you have preferred they just ignored the issue and took off anyway? That seems like a bad idea.
If you really want to escalate your whining to Southwest you'll need to contact them directly. Use the contact us link at the bottom of this page and send a message.

Easy answer. Islip is a tiny airport. Very tiny, in fact.
La Guardia, especially combined with JFK and maybe Newark (NJ), makes up some of the largest, busiest airports in the entire country.

Wanted to put it out there - do you think that Newark (EWR) is on Southwest's list of destinations in the future? Without it, they have no destinations serving New Jersey (other than LGA which can be a headache to get to from the Garden State).
You could always tell SW that you'd like to see the service restored by clicking on "contact us" below..

Can confirm! @dfwskier is right - after exiting from International Arrivals, take the escalator on your right - after a long walk, you'll get to the ticket counter and then proceed through the main checkpoint again to get to your next flight.

Your right. I realize the rules are clearly stated. I did cancel the ticket due to the excessive price of this ticket (at least a 450% increase). This is well beyond the increase in oil. The President warned that companies not gouge the public during this inflationary time. I guess Southwest is ignoring this as it isn’t a “mandate”.
lol, prices change due to LOTS of factors, the price of fuel being just one of them. Demand for travel is WAY up and when demand goes up prices go up too.
