Hello Southwest Community, Career Connections participants, and those interested in a career with Heart! If you haven't heard of Career Connections or haven't had the opportunity to attend an episode, it's a weekly webinar hosted by our Careers Team. Hey, @Johamarie! Thanks so much for reaching out again! I'm sorry you haven't heard any update on that Aircraft Records Specialist position you applied to on November 14. I took a look, and it looks like our Team has begun reviewing Candidates in the order their applications were received and inviting Candidates to interviews. Since there were so many applications received, I can't say for certain if they'll have the opportunity to get your application. That said, I can say for certain that any updates or next steps will be email to you just as soon as there are more details to share. I know the wait can be the hardest part, but we certainly appreciate your continued interest and patience throughout the process!

Some job descriptions do indeed state the residency requirement, however many do not. Also, from what I've experienced, it's not mentioned in the job description, but at the end of the application one is asked if they are a resident of the state, with no clarification if this is in fact a requirement or not for consideration.

Hi, @Goshawkt45 ! I believe you're referring to our Flight Operations Flight Instructor! How exciting that you're accruing hours and are interested in a career at Southwest Airlines! While the Flight Ops Flight Instructor role isn't currently posted for applications, I'm glad to offer some insight into the requirements of this role: Licensing/Certification Required: USA DOT/FAA Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. The certificate must display the following: "Airplane Multiengine Land" Category and Class Ratings "English Proficient" limitation Required: Must possess a valid United States Driver's License Experience Required: Flying experience operating an aircraft Preferred: Prior instruction experience in a classroom or full motion simulator. Preferred: 737 type rating More details are provided when the position is posted for applications, but that's a glimpse at what would be required. If you were to transfer to become a First Officer later on, your seniority would reset for pilot scheduling, but you'd go in with great knowledge and insight to Southwest's operation!

Hey there, @OO7Goofy! Thanks so much for reaching out! I took a look, and your application was removed from consideration due to answering "no" to the question "Do you currently possess a valid/unrestricted Driver’s License issued in the United States? (suspended, expired, revoked, or denied are not considered valid)". Since this is a requirement of the role you applied to, your application was removed from the process. So sorry for any confusion there! That particular role posts each month, on the 7th. It's open through the 21st of each month! If that answer was clicked by accident, you can submit your application come January 7th to be back in consideration!

hi thanks for reaching out. I was honestly super confused. Thats why I got on the forum. To see if anyone could help. I did call the number back but no one answered. I currently work as a sales merchandiser so I go inside coolers thru out the day so sometimes the calls don’t go thru. By the time I seen someone replied to my post it was too late. They already send me a email that they were moving on from my application. I was exited to get the call but I wasn’t aware it was going to be from a regular phone. I appreciate your time I will be on the look out to re apply and hopefully I could join the southwest family have a wonderful day 😃

Hi there, @wynonajaner! Thanks so much for asking! While many roles at Southwest are offered as a "remote" workplace option, those would still need to be located within certain states in the US. Each posting should outline the states in which Employees would be eligible to work from!

Since we reviewed applications in the order received, we're not always able to review all applications in order to fill an opportunity. I'm sorry that your application was one that we just weren't able to get to this time around. My recommendations in those case are to always fine-tune your resume specifically to the job you're applying for, do some research on Southwest and how the role you're applying for impacts our Company Vision, and get your application in ASAP! Often times, we receive more applications than we're able to review. This means that the earlier your application is submitted, the more likely we'll be able to get to it in the initial review process -- sometimes we can even receive enough applications to review within those first 20 hours. Still, we'd love to meet and get to know you better for another opportunity that fits your career goals in the future! Keep an eye out for the next time this position posts or for other opportunities at careers.southwestair.com - we post new positions almost daily!

I'm so sorry to learn of the confusion surrounding your application, and I'm glad to offer some clarification. When you withdrew your application, that removed you from consideration for the Flight Attendant opportunity. There's not a way to "undo" that withdrawing, and I regret the confusion caused by the One-Way Interview invitation that was sent to you on accident. That interview submission will not be reviewed or considered for this opportunity, since your application was already removed. I apologize if that's not the answer you were hoping to hear. That said, please know that withdrawing yourself from the application process for this position doesn't affect future employment consideration for the Flight Attendant position or other roles at Southwest Airlines. We'd love to receive your application again when this opportunity opens up in the future!

I know the wait can be stressful, especially as that process can take up to 6 weeks to finalize - although, we typically see folks complete the necessary steps within 4 weeks.
