It's possible that there was a system error or mistake in the initial response. To clarify your application status, I recommend contacting the company's HR or recruitment department directly to inquire about the specific reasons for not meeting the job requirements.

Hey there, @Briangarraty79.
So sorry for any disappointment with your application being removed from consideration for the Communications Summer 2024 Internships posting. Since your application was automatically removed due to the answer provided when applying, Regrettably, there isn't a way to modify your answer or change the status of your application at this point.
If you feel that you answered the question incorrectly, you might try submitting your application again - you may have to use a different email address to do so.

Hey, @Bluebeard64!
So sorry for the confusion surrounding your application to the Flight Attendant (R-2023-18425)! I hope you've hear back from our Teams by now, but that email removing you from the process was in error. Because you applied to both the January 2023 and September 2023 Flight Attendant postings, there were some crossed wires happening behind the scenes, but that is all resolved now.
We're excited to meet you soon!

Hey, @chrisdamron!
Thanks so much for reaching out and for your interest in joining our Technology Family! I took a quick look, and your answer to the question "Do you have entry-level experience; developing skills and knowledge in developing, implementing, or integrating technologies for Enterprise security?" is what removed your application from consideration. You indicated "no," and this experience was a requirement. I'm so sorry for any confusion or disappointment!

Hi there, @Lisakau808!
Thanks so much for reaching out and for your recommendations on communication surrounding the Operations Agent position.
Each Employee's training looks a bit different, especially with so many different stations, Employees, training processes, and operational factors to take into account. That can make outlining the full training and New Hire process a bit difficult!
We have worked to ensure all Candidates know that training and work shifts are at a variety of times, and that those are all dependent on our business and operational needs. We also include the question, "If you are selected for this position, after the initial training period, you will be required to work a variety of shifts assigned including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime (including shift extensions or full shifts assigned based on seniority). Are you able to work any and all assigned shifts?" in our application process in hopes of better setting expectations about work hours.
Still, I'm sorry if our Team missed the opportunity to spell that out more clearly or get back to your communication in a more timely manner. Your experience, as a Candidate and New Hire, is so important to us, and we'll continue working to grow and improve!

Thanks so much for your interest in Southwest Internships!
This resource was provided below, but it really is super helpful - careers.southwestair.com/K-12resources. We do our very best to keep it updated with the latest & greatest information.
Our High School Internships are during the summers, and we'll have more information to share about our Summer 2024 High School Internships in the spring! Depending on this summer's internship requirements, the program may be eligible to just rising high school juniors and seniors. If you're set to graduate prior to those summer 2024 High School Internships, you may not be eligible, but you could explore our career opportunities or College Internship opportunities!

Hi there, @stradera and @cmc1988!
Thank you both for your interest in joining our Southwest Family!
My top recommendations are always to keep your resume updated, tailor your resume to each specific job to highlight your applicable knowledge and experience, and submit your application to a position as soon as possible. Those first two tips, pertaining to resumes and tailoring them to your position of interest, a great rules of thumb for any application. Your resume is your first impression, and you can be sure you're making a good impression this way!
Submitting your application ASAP is important at Southwest because, depending on the position, we may receive many applications. This makes for a competitive process, and getting your application in earlier means we can review it sooner. There are times where we receive more applications than we're able to review, but submitting yours earlier helps to prevent you from falling into that situation.
I'd love to invite you both to attend an episode of Career Connections as well! Career Connections is a webinar hosted by our Careers Team, which covers different topics each week and shares insight into landing a career at Southwest Airlines. We cover things from Southwest's unique Culture, Benefits, how the hiring process can look, and we sometimes feature different workgroups who have upcoming opportunities! Learn more and register here: swa.is/CareerConnections.
Wishing you both the best of luck!

Hello Recruiters😊
Is there any possible ways to discuss work schedule hours or an estimated work schedule discussion with applicants BEFORE sending them to first week training?
Took me 6 weeks to get to the first training week (i had just missed the montly deadline) and I had asked the interviewer/recruiter about an example of work hours but were told they couldnt tell me. I followed up with them two other times via email about what my work hours "could possibly be' (I live an hour and half away from airport) but was never responded to. When I finally got to training week, the admin team said 4 am start time. WHOA I sure wish I would have known that prior to accepting job. Because of that early start time I had to sadly leave SWA. I was then told by another co-heart that NO my hours would NOT have been 4 am -shux. Is there anyway to reapply at SWA ? Thank you so much💟

Hey, @lesliesuazo2001!
Go Mean Green! Thanks so much for your interest in an Internship at Southwest!
We do require that Intern Candidates be a minimum Sophomore status, and they may not have an undergraduate graduation date of December 2023 or prior, unless already enrolled in a full-time graduate degree program at time of application. Since your graduation date is so soon (congratulations!), I'm afraid you wouldn't meet the requirements for our Spring 2024 Internships.
Since you'll be soon graduating, you might explore opportunities to start your career at Southwest! Depending on your studies, interests, and experience, we post new positions almost daily that might catch your eye!

Hey, @Tatanina!
Thanks so much for reaching out & for your interest in joining the Customer Support & Services (CS&S) Team! I took a closer look, and it looks like we sent you an email on June 30 (around 11:15am) from alerts@recruit.southwestair.com with an update.
To recap that email, our Team has completed interviewing and filling the available spots for our upcoming training classes. We received so much interest and a high volume of applications, and, since we reviewed applications in the order received, we simply weren't able to review all applications this time around. We know this isn't the news you wanted to hear, but don't worry our Team will reach out with information on potential interview dates in the future!

We are sorry to learn of your disappointment as a new hire, particularly if you felt that you or your family were not supported. Southwest has a long history of welcoming People of all backgrounds and family status to a career at Southwest Airlines. By fostering a Culture that embraces and utilizes our Diversity, we create competitive, yet equitable, advantages in teamwork and innovation that contribute to our overall success.
Southwest’s Purpose is to connect People to what’s important in their lives through friendly, reliable, and low-cost air travel. Our People are key to Southwest being on time and ready to serve our Customers. During the interview and onboarding processes, we strive to provide a realistic preview of what each job entails. Depending on the job and if it follows contract work rules, the job may include being away from loved ones, working assigned shifts based on seniority, the potential for overtime, and a New Hire probationary period that applies to everyone regardless of background. We’re sorry to hear if any of these requirements caused difficulties for you. As in many workplaces, as our Employees gain in seniority or are able to transfer to different locations for example, their schedule flexibility and preferences increase.
As we often share with Candidates, working at Southwest is not for the faint of Heart! The work can be challenging, but also rewarding in meeting a Purpose larger than ourselves.

Hi there, @Tung1962!
Our Flight Attendant position isn't currently open for applications. We post that position 1-2 times a year, and we review all Candidates in the order received. In January, we posted the position, and it received several thousand applications. We're still working through those applications at this time! In the meantime, I would recommend signing up for our Talent Community here: https://careers.southwestair.com/jointalentcommunity?applyType=JTC, and be sure you select "Flight Attendants & Inflight Operations" for the Area of interest option! We typically send out notice via email around the time that position is going to post!

Hey, @Cmckinney!
Thanks so much for your interest in a career with Heart!
I took a quick look, and it doesn't look like we currently have any positions posted for the Los Angeles / Southern California area right now. We do regularly hire for the stations we serve in that area - including Los Angeles (LAX), Burbank (BUR), Ontario (ONT), Long Beach (LGB), Orange County/Santa Ana (SNA), and Santa Barbara (SBA). I would keep an eye on our careers site for new postings, as we post new positions throughout the Company almost daily. You can also set up job alerts to receive an email when new positions post!
We'd love to meet you and get to know your interest in joining Southwest soon. Wishing you the best!

Thank you so much for reaching out! And for your interest in joining our Houston Family!
I took a quick look, and there was a *ton* of interest in both of these postings. That helps explain why the process is taking longer than you (or we) would hope - so sorry for the wait there!
The Ramp Agent position is well underway, and our Team has been reviewing applications and meeting Candidates in the order they applied. Since you did apply later in the process, they haven't gotten to your application just yet. Fingers crossed they'll be able to meet you and get to know your interest in the role!
For the Customer Service Agent, the application review for that position looks to be just starting. The Team will also review applications in the order received in order to meet with Candidates, and I've got my fingers crossed that you'll land an interview and get to meet with the Team!
Keep an eye on your email inbox (and any junk/spam folders - just in case) for an update as soon as one is available. Thanks for checking in on these applications! Rooting for you - hang in there!
