I’m afraid this might depend on the agent you get on the phone. I could see if your return changed to where the trip won’t work but the flights a different date might work then they might be able to help but if you want to change to a different departure on same day for the outbound they might say no with some form of your outbound flight didn’t change you can change at the current price.

I’ve tried using it 5 times without success and 1 time with success after going behind the gate agents back by calling because not all agents seem to understand that I can book the wanna get away fare as ALP and still get free same day changes even when I show the website they grow even more confused.

I know several people who are 350lbs and they use the COS all the time without issue
my suggestion is to book the 2nd seat in advance because if the flight is sold out when you get to the counter and you haven’t purchased the seat you could be denied easier because they usually have to get a supervisor for permission to oversell the flight. Booking in advance will reduce the chance of being questioned if you are boarder line (remember it’s not about weight but if you fit in the seat) weight is not distributed the same on everyone so if you think you need it do it (extra space is nice)

No matter what time a plane arrives there is always an ops agent meeting the flight (that’s who brings the jet bridge to the plane) I understand in the circumstances your not thinking look for a SW agent to report

Just adding on to @bec102896's response - if you have a Wanna Get Away Plus, Anytime, or Business Select fares - you can change your flight (and get confirmed on another departure) on the app or Southwest.com for no additional charge. If they're all sold out (or say Unavailable) on the app, you'll have to go to the airport so they can add you to the Standby list, but you'd have to do it before your original flight is scheduled to depart otherwise you'd forfeit any travel funds per the No Show Policy.
Keep in mind that a same-day confirmed change does not guarantee your same boarding position - you'll likely get a later boarding position and if you purchased Early Bird Check-In, it'll have no use since you changed your flight less than 24 hours prior to departure.
That’s good to know it will let you change on the app (way better than calling) I guess it’s just an A list problem where we have to call or visit the airport hopefully that changes as time goes on.

Sorry to hear of your experience.
when you made it in to the terminal did you report the situation to a SW employee or seek medical treatment so there is documentation of what happened? if not I’m not sure what they can do because unfortunately some (not saying you) will make up a story to take a company down
did you send an email to southwest? If not click on contact us at the bottom of this page they will get back to you as soon as they can probably after an investigation which can take time. With the door being broken that’s probably documented so they would see that you exited a different door if that was the case.

I’m currently on a streak of 9 of 11 flights no Wi-Fi (7 of last 8 no Wi-Fi) of course the 1 that had working Wi-Fi was the 30min flight
if you paid for Wi-Fi and it didn’t work I would send an email to southwest so they can issue your a refund (hopefully)
I know they are going to upgrade the Wi-Fi but that takes time hopefully next year it should be better.

In Orlando weather is a problem everyday and unfortunately no one can control the weather and usually when an airline sees the word weather anywhere on a reservation they tell you too bad even if other issues occurred (happened to me with American and Delta) I am glad southwest was at least able to give you $150 hopefully you will be able to put that to use to have a more enjoyable flight in the next year (I’m sure themiddleseat would enjoy the voucher if you don’t like it 😜) but seriously just be glad they were able to help and hey you made it to your destination that’s always a plus especially now days when more flights are being canceled than ever before

One thing to keep in mind let’s say You get the voucher in a week and that flight is sold out you would need to cancel your flight booked as anytime fare and there is no guarantee the tickets go back in to inventory right away or at all. The ticket could also be taken in the time you rebook. Not trying to be the negative one just want to make sure you understand there is risk involved.
this happened to me once and turns out the flight was oversold so I helped them be less oversold and I didn’t get the flight I wanted.

If you paid for the Wi-Fi you can reach out to southwest by clicking on the contact us link at the bottom of this page to request a refund.
if you are A list preferred (like me) and the Wi-Fi is a benefit unfortunately nothing is being done for us other than just taking a report. You could always still write a complaint and maybe they will send you a luv voucher but unfortunately that depends on the agent you get
hopefully these internet upgrades work but it will take time before it’s on all aircraft’s.

also it can take 30 days for a refund to show up on your card
maybe file the claim anyways and let them say we need more info that way you at least started the process on time

Unless you bought the Anytime or Business Select fares the flight is nonrefundable but that passenger has a year from when the ticket was originally purchased to use the funds.
if you bought the wanna get away plus they can transfer the funds to you but the funds remain nonrefundable
you could always wait till day of departure and hope for a delay or cancellation to hope for a refund.

If you are looking on the website sometimes it will show your old flight on your upcoming trips until you actually click to view that trip (weird and confusing I know) I would try pulling up the reservation with the confirmation number to verify the flight you are actually booked on. you can also call southwest to reconfirm your flight 800-435-9792 (hold times may be long)

No account is required to check in for a flight. You can go on the app or website and click the option for check in you enter your confirmation number and a name on the reservation and once you click check in everyone on your reservation will be checked in
be sure to check in at exactly 24 hours before your flight to get the best boarding position since it’s open seating once onboard and the earlier you check in the better chance of avoiding the middle seat

You can make the same day confirmed change starting at midnight the day of departure by phone.
I tried the same day change at the airport a week ago and unfortunately not all agents seem to understand the change yet they tried telling me only WGA+ Fares get same day change they didn’t realize it didn’t matter fare type for AL or ALP customers it took 2 supervisors to get my change at the airport so personally I would do the phone method until they get more used to things at the airport as it was a cluster when I flew out of SRQ
