@mhealy Southwest has received a ton of applications to be a flight attendant so because there were so many applications it will take time I know it's been awhile but the good news is your still in the running for the job so just hang tight and keep checking back from time to time as they are still going through the applications. Hopefully they will update you soon! Blake

I just did a search and found flights on SW for $106 the $51 ticket your talking about is a Basic Economy ticket it doesn't include a seat assignment so odds are you will get a middle seat you also you get no carry on. I did a search to compare on united for October 17th and it would cost $80 to get a seat assignment and carry on so $130 vs $106 also 2 free checked bags on Southwest 0 free on united if you don't care about a carry on or middle seat then sure united would be better it's all about what you care about as a customer. Another note Southwest goes to MDW united goes to ORD so depending on where you are going post flight it may be cheaper to fly to one airport vs the other because of gas or rental car cost so keep that in mind as well when making your flight choices. what about the $217 day on Southwest you may ask it's all about supply and demand so the more people that buy tickets on a given flight the higher the prices go because airlines know you will buy at a higher rate if you really want a particular flight and 1 empty seat is better than 50 in the airlines eyes so when an airline has seats to fill they will make some seats cheaper to get people to book that flight. another note with Southwest if you book a flight at $200 and next week it goes down to $100 you can rebook at the $100 ticket for free and get a credit for a future flight with the other airlines you can't get the cheaper ticket Hope this helps Blake

I don't believe Early Bird check in is fraudulent because it is a service that is offered no one just charged you for it and not give you anything and the airline doesn't force you to buy it now sure they will advertise it but that's not fraud. You pay for a service and you get the service which is earlier check in before others on the flight who didn't buy that service. It's no different than buying priority boarding from say united lots of people buy it but it doesn't mean you will be the first person to board you will be one of the first. Hope this makes sense Blake

I would go back to your confirmation email and see if your RR number is on the reservation as there are times it may jump off especially if you make the reservation over the phone if it says join or add number under the RR then you would need to request past flight points after 48 hours of your flight completion as @franktravel stated. If you are booked on a RT flight all travel must be complete before points will post to your account if you need further assistance just let me know Blake

As @DancingDavidE if they didn't reuse the boarding numbers from people who cancelled or no showed or even miss connected because of say a delay then you could end up with more boarding groups and that would confuse people so to keep it simple they just keep it to ABC plus family and preboard. Oh and @DancingDavidE i have actually seen a C63 boarding pass myself back when they had the A List glitch on the monitor it just says C 31+ as I asked a gate agent once as I was curious on another note I have known people to call and ask to be unchecked in wait a few seconds to re check in to see if they get a better boarding position only thing is someone could check in and take your boarding spot and you in turn have a worse position so that is a at your own risk kind of thing. Also If you don't like your boarding position you can always upgrade at the gate for $30-$50 if available Hope this helps Blake

@nitad259 There are a few ways to add Early Bird to one way of your RT itinerary the easiest way would be if you have a RR account go to your my trips and click on the add Early bird then you can select the flight you would like to add Early bird to. If you don't have a RR account you can use the link provided by @DancingDavidE and add it that way using the confirmation number you got when booking the flight the third way you can do it is to call reservations at 800-435-9792 and the SW representative would be gad to assist you just have your confirmation number ready. hope this helps! @dauxier Schedule changes are no fun but unfortunately when the airline adds new routes they have to take away routes as well since they don't have an unlimited number of planes and crews as well as gates at airports. The good news is they do have Saturday non stops and Sunday 1 stop no plane change during the winter from what I see on the website from SDF to PHX. After doing ting some research it looks like your daily non stops will return on March 7th which tells me that maybe they took the non stop away during the winter because it may not be popular during that time of year. Now with the next schedule release I'm not sure if the non stops will remain like they are in March but the best thing to do is let Southwest know how much you would like that route by emailing them from the contact us link at the bottom of the Southwest home page or you can message Southwest on Facebook or Twitter. Hope the future schedules will work for you! Blake

@AvKrayez When I earned A List the past 2 years I got the card 8-10 days later. I think it could take up to a couple weeks to get the card once they verify you earned A List if you didn't get the card after a couple months I would reach out to customer relations at 855-234-4654 Congratulations on earning A List! I can also relate this past week 2 of the 3 flights I was on had the WiFi down and I noticed when I got on the plane by it not even showing up to connect so I asked the FA as some people were still slowly boarding hoping they could reset before take off or once we got airborne and the FA was like it's broken and blew it off and was like gosh I guess you will have to make a new friend for the next 1-2 hours and what would our world be like without Internet the guy next to me rolled his eyes and laughed. I'm guessing the FA was tried of being asked but yes I have noticed more broken WiFi hope SW will fix this in the future so FAs don't get annoyed with it on a weekly basis Blake

@garymichelson1 You might call reservations and could also try calling group reservations (if your not successful by calling reservations then try calling the group desk) and see if they have a way to add it before the flight I was successful on one group reservation In the past and not successful on another group reservation (maybe someone new who didn't know how to do it or a policy change) I know you can get points after travel is complete by requesting past flight credit. Of course if you can't get the RR number added before the flight you can always try to add it at the gate and at a minimum they should let you board between A and B groups even if they can't add the number as long as they could verify your A List. On the one group reservation I was on where the number couldn't be added they just stamped XT on my boarding pass and I was able to board between A and B groups no problem even with it not showing my A List. hope it works out for you! As @DancingDavidE said one way flights and RT flights count as long as you paid for the ticket points flights won't count towards earning A List if your going to be short a couple legs I recommend trying to book a day trip during a sale I know last year they did a big sale in October plus they have the $69 sale on now and book to a Southwest hub like Chicago, Houston, or Dallas to name a few. if you live at one of the hubs look for a place close by for example last year I was going to be 3 segments short of A List preferred so I flew from Austin to Lubbock to Dallas to Austin as a day trip to get the 3 legs and it was $49 for each leg. and yes @DancingDavidE maybe a day trip to Disney or Vegas would be good to re earn that status Happy travels! @DancingDavidE wrote: @bec102896 wrote: @SunnyHester At this time I don't believe there is a way to finish watching a movie from home because you would have to be connected to the Southwest wifi and using the airtime player if you have a connecting flight you can continue watching when you are on that flight. I always tell people be sure to select a movie that you will be able to finish like if you have a 1 hour 30min flight don't choose a 2 hour movie unless your ok with missing the last 30min of the movie Blake I don't think you can pick up the wifi from all of the way down the jetway, so no finishing up in the gate area. Yeah I tried to connect to Southwest wifi once while sitting at the gate in Austin and it didn't show up since I was too far away that would be cool if they had a southwest hotspot in the gate area so we can finish a movie or even a show while waiting on the next flight or for those who may be waiting on someone from another flight. Or use the Internet for those who bought it. My guess is that the airports won't allow it though as it is competition to Boingo or some airports that charge for wifi. Blake

@Joanied Has your daughter checked the portal where she applied on the Southwest career site? I know they have updates there such as "under review" or "closed/complete" and that might help with providing a status update. also for your protection if you could edit your post to remove your phone number as this is a customer to customer forum and Southwest won't be able to reach out by phone from here and I wouldn't want someone to call you unauthorized. I think points remain refundable, even if changed - unlike Business Select or Anytime fares that become non-refundable which I think you might be referring to? A little off-topic, but astoundingly if you no-show a points booking you get the points refunded as well. When I go to change a points booking it tells me the refundable fare becomes non refundable so the $5.60 would be a travel fund. The points would still be refundable though the $5.60 is what I was referring to with the cancel and rebook for the funds to remain refundable. of course now that I think about it more In this case I would just hold the funds when I cancel and use it to pay the security fee on the companion ticket. rebooking a ticket to keep it refundable wouldn't matter that much since you would just use it right away. @FrequentFlier3 Here's what I would do book the fiancé's reservation without the RR number wait until you tell him your going on vacation to add the number as you can add the number later online or by calling reservations and this way it won't be in his RR account until the number is added. If you can book your ticket on points then book for you as the points reservation is refundable (as long as you do not change the reservation) *if you should need to change flights cancel and rebook the points reservation so it stays refundable*. when your ready you can cancel the points reservation and book the companion. if the flight is sold out I would call reservations and explain you want that ticket but as the companion and they should be able to grab that seat as soon as they cancel the points ticket so it doesn't go back in to inventory for someone else to buy. If you don't have enough points this would be a hard surprise to accomplish unless you buy your ticket with money and you would have a credit for a year to use. Hope it works out! Blake

@Mafu26 At this time Southwest is not hiring for Hawaii just yet but stay tuned as they will most likely make an announcement here in the community when they are ready to start hiring for Hawaii. You can also create a profile on the Southwest careers site and sign up for alerts so you can be one of the first to know when applications are being accepted. Hope this helps Blake

@MOnkie_08 to book a YT reservation you would select an adult (since they are over 2 years old) and when you click through the payment screen it would ask you to fill out the info for the YT after you click purchase since then it would see this is a YT. You could also call reservations at 800-435-9792 and they can help you book it as well with no over the phone booking fees. Hope this helps Blake

@MandySue1024 Maybe those people came from the thru flight that had a plane swap. for example MCO to AUS with a stop in Houston but no change of planes then they arrive in Houston and they have a new plane for HOU to AUS so they get to board before Business Select as they would have already been on the plane and this case would have families since a lot of families come from Orlando but I have not seen any other times where families board first. If you would like to discuss with Southwest directly you can reach out on Twitter or call customer relations and they can look in to the flight to see what occurred and why families boarded first. Hope this helps Blake

@SoothSayer Sorry your flight was delayed and they kept delaying it because of a late crew. There are times a plane plane will land and the gate won't be available which could be the case in this situation and that's why the delays was extended and extended again. It's also important to know that the flight crew doesn't just get off the plane as soon as it arrives at the gate if they are working that flight they would have to wait until all passengers deplane and make sure it's in order for the next flight before they can get off the plane then they have to get from that gate to your gate and board and make sure the cabin is ready before your flight can board. all airlines have delays for crews it's apart of air travel these days I'm sorry you were delayed 90min though because of the late crew if you would like to discuss your experience with Southwest directly you can reach out to Southwest on Facebook or Twitter in a DM or you can call customer relations at 855-234-4654 hope your next trip is delay free! @Mrsz816 Sorry your points expired Unfortunately I don't think you will be able to get your points back since they are expired. Points expire after 2 years of no qualifying activity which in my opinion is generous compared to some airlines that only give you between 3 months and 18 months before points expire. you can always reach out to customer relations though to see if they could make an exception for you by calling 855-234-4654 or reach out to Southwest on Facebook or twitter hope this helps Blake

@D-S If your A List you would be checked in without needing to buy EB check in and your boarding pass is pre assigned so you can check in when you get to the airport. If you bought EB then you will be checked in automatically after A List customers and you will be checked in based on when you bought your ticket. you can check in at 24 hours to see your boarding pass or you can wait until you arrive at the airport to check in Most airlines make you wait until 24 hours before your flight to be able to obtain your boarding pass. Hope this helps Blake

@etandrake2 So I did a little digging while on my flight tonight and it looks like the reason you can't book PVR to DTW is there wouldn't be enough time to connect for example on Jan 30th there is a 2:20pm flight to Denver arriving at 4:40pm and the last flight to Detroit even with a connection leaves Denver at 4:45pm so 5min is not a possible connection if you flew to Houston the flight leaves at 2:35pm arriving at 5pm the last flight with a connection from Houston to Detroit leaves at 5:10pm so same situation You could do an over night in Houston or Denver as well if you wanted but for building a same day itinerary it doesn't look possible for PVR to DTW hope this helps Blake
