The reason I wonder this is because a few years a go when I originally earned A List I didn't get my A List benefits until I had all my reservations refreshed (number removed and re added) I learned this the hard way the first A List eligible flight because I didn't check in until I got to the airport and had the painful C11 boarding pass

I haven't seen any refer a friend promotion emails in awhile last one I got was in November of 2016 which was when I qualified for A List My sister on the other hand who is not A List got one late last year so I think it's random who gets that offer and how often and I wonder if status plays a role in the who is selected. I would recommend you look in your emails and see if there are any trends to as to when or how often you got the offer to refer people to join Rapid Rewards and maybe that could give you a good guess as to when you may get that offer again. You will need to create that traveler a Rapid Rewards account prior to traveling in order for matching the ticket to birth certificate and finalization of the age verification. If you prefer to verify age instead of traveling with the birth certificate you can mail a request to the address here: https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/faqs.html?topic=age_verified Of course you can also purchase a standard fare and avoid all of this depending on which situation benefits you the most. A Young Traveler is already flying on a "standard" fare. Age verification would be for the purposes of confirming solo travel eligibility (over age 11), and while not required, to aid with getting the companion adult an escort pass.

You give these to deserving southwest team members who you feel have done a great job of making your experience better. Gate agents and flight crew members are easy to recognize by simply handing one to them and telling them you appreciate them for what they do.

I have seen this happen on my chase debit card from time to time as well it will come back. sometimes it takes a couple days I'm not sure why it does it though but it happens to me a lot on weekends and near holidays. your best bet would be to call chase and see what they say. But in the meantime just try to keep track of your purchases so you don't over spend. Hope this helps Blake

If so you may be able to use Family Boarding - in which case showing up at the airport a little early to sort out the boarding passes would be an option, and the ability to check-in won't be as important. As @bec102896 mentioned go back to your confirmation to make sure you paid for everyone. If they have separate confirmation numbers it may show in your email as well.

I saw one post that suggested using a smart phone cellular data to access the SWA App to book the flight. This appears to work. Using the smart phone is less efficient than using an iPad or Laptop which both have keyboards. It seems in the past I have made reservations using WiFi from overseas to access the website. The app on either iPhone or iPad or the website via laptop over wifi, only using cellular data does it seem possible. Is this more secure than WiFi? Hi glad to hear the the app utilizing cellular data works for you. To answer your question, acutally, cellular data is more secure than wi-fi. Wi-fi from your personal router is secure, but public wi-fi is not

Wow super helpful! Yeah ah I definitely use this perk a lot because my schedule is so variable or if my the last flight of out LGA is delayed as it often the case and I can take an earlier one that lands at the time I was supposed to. I have been stranded in Las Vegas because I didn’t check the connecting flight so definitely recommend that!

Its the repeated problem that SWA's system doesn't email you immidately when this type of thing happens. When you book you get flooded with emails to rent cars, etc but if a flight or reservation is cancelled by SWA its total silence. This is a computer bug and needs to be addressed as such. -Robert Actully, Robert, Southwest does send an e-mail to the address tied to the reservtion the second a reservation is made, changed or cancelled. I have literally hundreds of examples in my e-mail folders.

@perri Because this is a customer to customer forum we wont be able to get the gift card to you. With that being said I would suggest removing the order number just in case someone were to try and take your gift card with your order number. I would still recommend you reach out to Southwest on Twitter or you could also message them on Facebook for the easiest quickest response if there isnt a phone number for gift card order help on the receipt. -Blake

Then again, if t reduces the cost of a future flight, then it's not really monopoly money, is it? Sorry, you got delayed and inconvenienced. It happens on all airlines. The airline did try to mke amends by providing a voucher.

Then rebook and apply the voucher to the new flight.

I agree with Blake: it normally makes no sense to buy large numbers of points as the cost of the ponts would be more than the equivalent airfare . It might make sense to buy a smallnumber of points to add to your own points in order thebuy ticket. I tmakes more sense to do so when the airlines is offereing a discounted cost for points purchases.

@LindseyD wrote: @chgoflyer, what you've said is correct. If the reservation straddles two years, the flights will be applied to the years to which they correspond. If they are on the same reservation, the TQP from the outbound flight will be retroactively applied after the return flight is completed. Hey, Lindsey! Thanks for the info. But... that's actually not what I'm saying. I'm saying the opposite. 😉 For many years, people have used a "hack" to move points into the upcoming year, vs earning them in the current one. (A primary reason would be if you wanted TQPs or CPQPs in the new year vs the current one, for example.) This involved booking a round trip with an outbound in the current year and the return in the following one. Southwest's system grants points upon the completion of the full itinerary, and (previously at least) those points from both flights would then be earned in, and apply to, the new year. I haven't actually used this "hack" myself for several years, but discussion about it other places on the web indicate people still do, and that the belief is that it still works. It sounds like you're saying that this is no longer the case? And now, in this scenario, the points will count for qualification in the year the flight was taken? Or, are you talking about qualification via flight segments, not points? (You mentioned "TQP" which leads me to believe you mean points.)

Group Travel is a bit of an odd bird. You essentially accept some significant limitations and issues (the insane telephone hold times being one in addition to the unavailability of EBCI) in trade for a possible small discount and most importantly passenger name flexibility/transferability. There are pluses and minuses, what may make it work for some may be a deal-breaker for others. The response you received from the "CEO" doesn't surprise me. I find that suggestion (writing to the president of a company) to be naively outdated, and generally a waste of time these days. Especially at a large company like Southwest. YMMV.

The baggage agent should be able to check your bags through to your destination, regardless of confirmation numbers. (Note that if you do have a single confirmation number this won't be an issue at all -- you'll even be able to use the kiosk to self-check your bags.) This does require additional effort on the agent's part, and I've learned that, following the system conversion, some agents know how to do this and are willing to assist without issue, and some others unfortunately are not. If you are polite, patient, and persistent you hopefully won't have a problem. Please do come back and let us know how it goes!

On another thread I left a phone number for Aero Services, you can try there after maybe four days to a week in case the iPad has found its way to Scottsboro, AL lost and found facility.
