If you are concerned about points expiring, you might want to sign up for the dining for points program, and have a cheap lunch somewhere. My experience is that points coming as a result of this program typically show up within a week or two of the event.

"Young Travelers" is just the name Southwest uses for children age 12-17 traveling alone. There are no special services offered, or limitations or fees required. (Ages 11 and under flying alone must travel as Unacompanied Minors.)

Did you receive that? If travel ended up being completed on another southwest flight later that day or next day I don't believe you would get a refund to travel funds or your original form of payment just possible compensation (LUV voucher) and they usually won't issue a LUV voucher if travel was not taken at some point since that would be like paying a person to not fly The OP doesn't mention taking a later flight, but you are correct. If the original flight was cancelled but the passenger was accommodated on another flight they would not receive a refund or travel funds. I only mentioned this aspect earlier because sometimes people will use the wrong terminology, for example thinking that a cancelled flight generated a voucher when they really mean travel funds. I was trying to clarify. To your second point, Customer Relations may offer a voucher as a goodwill gesture for many types of situations. For example, a flight cancellation that causes a disruption in travel, leading to trip cancellation or alternate travel arrangements. This is not uncommon. One other thought, was the LUV issued as a paper ticket or by email? Back in the days of bumping oversold flights we would get paper copies on the spot - I don't believe these can be replaced, since they could be lost, given to someone else, etc. - it could still be in circulation. Email on the other hand there could be a scenario where you didn't receive it for some reason and they could re-send the prior info since it would still be a valid voucher as-is.

Hmm this is not working for me. We just checked into a flight and my RR number is definitely associated and I am on the app. It is a domestic only flight. I can see the flight in the app with my group and position, but I cannot access my mobile boarding pass. It says to "visit a kiosk or ticket counter for your boarding passes, or print them by visiting Southwest.com on a desktop." Am I doing something wrong?

I also had a travel fund once that wasn't working to make a valid reservation but when I called to sort it out it worked fine. I'm not sure what the restriction was and didn't ever find out since it worked when I called.

Actually was quite surprised that later in the day I got an email for a $150 per person voucher that is good for up to a year. Thanks for replying on that!

Southwest considers children ages 12 through 17 traveling alone to be Young Travelers, not Unaccompanied Minors. Accordingly, Southwest’s Unaccompanied Minor procedures do not apply to ages 12 through 17. From the website: Can a child older than 11 years of age be treated as an Unaccompanied Minor? No. Our Unaccompanied Minor program is only for children ages five through 11 years old. Children ages 12 and older are allowed to travel independently. However, we encourage parents to decide whether their children are capable of and comfortable with: Negotiating all airports Going through the checkin and boarding processes Following crew members' instructions Dealing with possible flight disruptions that may arise If not, we strongly discourage allowing these Young Travelers to fly alone. Oh I didn't know that that's weird they offered me the service when I booked the cousins tickets by phone maybe the reservations agent didn't know the policy (like myself 😂). I figure they would want to sell it to Young travelers (as an optional fee) to make more money

@hindmanm That's strange that you wouldn't have a security code with a LUV voucher as I've never seen a LUV voucher without a security code. I would recommend reaching out to Southwest in a DM on Twitter/Facebook or you can reach out to customer relations by calling 855-234-4654 Monday-Friday. I would also double check to make sure it's a LUV voucher as some people mistake a travel fund for a voucher and some mistake an Epass for a LUV voucher. the security code should be right under the voucher number. hope this helps! That’s terrible ! Definitely reach out to southwest and let them know what happened . It seemed like she was trying to discern whether they were pets or service animals but her questions were definitely out of line. I’ve seen similar situations in other flights and flight attendants never act this way.

@mhealy Well, unfortunately there's nothing more you can do to speed it up. BUT - Since you still show "received submission" and not "closed complete", you are still set to be reviewed. Also, they are processing in order based on when you sub'd your application. So if it was later in the day on 2/5 when you sub'd, it could take a bit. Seriously, hang in there! And sincerely best of luck! Ian L.

You should be able to use the award HQ/more rewards (credit card holder or not some restrictions for non card holders) but it is a better deal to use the points to buy the flight since you can use your points to buy tickets for anyone so if your wanting to book a ticket for say your friend for a wedding present you could make a certificate for X number of points then they could just call you and you could buy the ticket for them. If you would still rather just do the gift card using points i would try clicking through the southwest site and go to the more rewards and it should work once you log in to your southwest account on that site. It may lg you out when you go from the Southwest website to the more rewards account which might be why it says not enough points since a non member would not have enough points. If you still have issues I would reach out to the phone number on the more rewards site hope this helps Blake

If you have a rapid rewards account and the mobile app you should be able to get your mobile boarding pass by logging in to your account since multi passenger reservations are now eligible for mobile boarding I don't know how someone can be added to your confirmation number unless you book multiple people on your reservation although I have heard of reused confirmation numbers. If you canceled, your bag would still go on to it's intended destination. You'd have to work with Southwest to get it back to you, possibly paying a shipping fee.

@bgubs14 wrote: The easiest thing is to call ! And sometimes they help you find the other ones Unfortunately, that's no longer true. 😞 While you used to be able to call and provide your credit card number to have a rep search for any travel funds associated with your name, you now must provide specific flight info, a confirmation number or a ticket number. From the website: Applying Travel Funds: In the event your travel plans change and you need to apply travel funds to future trips, please make note of your confirmation number. Customers calling Southwest to request a refund or to research travel funds for a specific ticket must provide their confirmation number, ticket number or flight information (date, origin and destination).

@princess First off I'm sorry for your loss. Unfortunately Southwest doesn't offer bereavement fares and most airlines these days do not. i know Southwest does occasionally have some lower fares last minute so I would take a look if you haven't already. Hope this helps Blake

If I understand your question correctly your asking why going to Punta Cana from BWI is cheaper and returning is more expensive if so that has to do with the international taxes. I notice this with several international destinations like Nassau where it's cheap going but more expensive on the return because of taxes. you will also notice that on the points tickets as it won't be the $5.60 like domestic flights Hope this helps Blake

@greeg86 Unfortunately I am not aware of a way to set up an alert for hey seats are now available for a flight the best advice I can give is to check daily maybe once in the morning and once at night as inventory can change at anytime and if it's a last minute flight check close to check in time and maybe every few hours as some people will wait to cancel until check in time if you want to make sure you have a seat seat on a flight I would book another SW flight and if seats do become available later you can change for free (fare difference may apply) hope this helps Blake
