@haveaheart wrote: southwest airlines has proven themselves to be inflexible and unaccomdating during this difficult time. They do not care about their customers, so don't expect anything from them. They are greedy money hungry selfish monkeys who will just recite company policy to you like a robot monkey with no heart. They are not able to use their brain and actually comprehend what a pandemic means. I don't know if they just need someone to sit down with them to explain it slowly, or if they are purposely playing stupid. Only time will tell if they smarten up. Customer service reps may sound like robots to you because of the situation they're in. Repeating policy to customers all day, unfortunately not empowered by management to do anything else at the moment. Certainly any anger directed at them is misplaced and uncalled for. As is contacting customer service channels repeatedly. This situation just hit the fan *last week.* Companies are still figuring things out, so it's pretty much pointless expecting constant complaining to be productive. Management will eventually make policy decisions one way or another, and things will be announced. Hopefully, customer-positive accommodations will be made. But I suspect whether or not that will happen will have alot to do with how financially stable air carriers are by the time things start to settle down. And that's a giant unknown. For what it's worth, I suggest you add your voice to the chorus of customer complaints via written letter sent by snail mail so that it's documented. And then move on. The next month or two is going to be challenging for everyone. tl;dr Calm down. Be patient. Send a letter. Skip the personal attacks. Wash your hands.

Keep in mind that you can be contagious without being symptomatic. Ergo, you are your only source of protective behavior. Follow proper etiquette in public and there's a slight risk, or you can choose to stay home. Any sort of more restrictive behavior really won't be too effective. In my personal opinion, I'm not changing my behavior much at all...airplanes or otherwise. But then, I'm not in a high risk group (aka. elderly or immune compromised).

There have been several reported system outages over the last few days. This must be another of them. Admittedly this appears to be different than th others SW's systems are being cranky

I normally only spend about 5 minutes on hold before giving up. SW's call back function is notoriously cranky, and I would not use it. The suggestions made up thread are good. E-Mail is another option that I've found works pretty well.

I don't know if this is related, but I've been having log in issues as well. I can log in successfully, for example on Southwest.com, but when I go to another page of the site (i.e. "My Account") I have to log in again. And if I go to "Recent Activity" - I have to log in again. So on and so forth. Sometimes I am able to navigate successfully, but as of late I've had to constantly re-log in. --Jessica

Cancellations stink for everyone, and I'm sorry you had this experience. As mentioned, be sure to speak with the airline (Twitter, phone, etc.) to see how they can assist further.

Here are my recommendations, and I'm not a doctor or anything like that, but I do travel a bit. 1. Bring your own food and drinks. But them at the expensive gift shop past security. You don't want to drink water or coffee or tea made on the plane and you don't want to drink from a cup handed to you by a flight attendant holding the brim of the cup who, just before takeoff, has literally ran their hands across the front of all of the overhead bins on the plane. 2. Bring your own hand sanitize. Buy a small travel site bottle and bring it with you in your carry on. Use it before you eat or drink anything while on the plane and after visiting the plane's bathroom. 3. Don't touch anything or put anything in the seat back compartment. 4. Don't use or even touch any airplane blankets or pillows. I'm not for wiping down the seat and try as I don't fancy rubbing my own hands across these dirty surfaces. I don't use the tray and I wear clothing and a light hoodie so that my own skin doesn't come in contact with the seat. Any other suggestions?

Absolutely! According to Southwest's site: "Customers traveling with children will be allowed to check one stroller and one Child Restraint System (CRS) or car seat per child without charge. This is in addition to the regular free baggage allowance." Find out more about travelling with baby here. Be sure that if you are travelling with your baby as a lap child that you bring a copy of the birth certificate. @Mooch1 wrote: So why do they still lead newcomers down the path of registering as seniors? Possibly the software didn’t have a corresponding update that the ticketing software received. I don’t recall the timing either, maybe it has to remain a registration option until the last previously purchased fare has been flown.

@mscatrice7 wrote: I have not received any drink coupons since I had my Card and have taken 10 or more trips. How do I received them now Southwest sends 4 drink coupons after each set of 10 paid one-way flights. Note: Points flights don't count. Chase sends Rapid Rewards credit cardholders 4 drink coupons on "milestone" anniversaries such as 5 years, 10 years, etc. (and sometimes other occasions, but no longer annually). If you're certain that you've taken 10 paid flights and have not received any drink coupons, reach out to Southwest customer relations, who can research this for you.

The crazy thing about the Bluebird is that it is located in a little strip center away from downtown, no where near "Music Row" and all the other music-centric downtown locations in Music City. It is definitely a really cool, intimate place, and like most places in Nashville, you never know who will show up!

My favorites are omelette for breakfast at Billy Goat in A concourse or breakfast bowl at Home Run Inn if B, or breakfast at The BBQ stand. For lunch or dinners the BBQ or Big and Little’s in B. There is a Big City Chicken coming though. Also HVAC Pub if way down at the end of B. And Big Shoulders Coffee coming out of TSA Pre. Glad you had a good experience @azpeitia and hope Cabo is great!

I would include the cost as a determining factor as well. I used to pretty much always buy EBCI when it was $10. Now, to me, sometimes the inconvenience of online check in is preferable to paying $25. As we've seen here, there are a lot of different variables that can be a factor. Ultimately, each traveler has to decide what's right for them on any particular itinerary.

Southwest would love to serve SYR and If they hadn't bought Airtran (Which served ROC) they would likely be at SYR now. Its also important to note the SYR was a US Airways (RIP) hub which meant that most of the gates were used in 2012 (When SWA bought Airtran) so that might have discouraged them. However in 2019 SYR processed 2.5 million travelers which means that SYR will likely have 3 million travelers by AT LEAST Q2 2020 which would aid the airport in getting a new airline. If I had to guess id say its likely to be SWA but there is also an Amazon warehouse being built in Syracuse which could augment the pax numbers and likely add another airline. (SYR currently has service to 24 airports and is served by 9 different airlines and 4 cargo airlines).

My wife and I both paid for Precheck so both go to that line. However, I had a hip replacement and request a full-body scan. She goes through the regular scanning line. We are separated at that point, but meet up after security. Being separated is not a big deal for us as we know where to meet up.
