@gypsiedeb Oh, good questions. I don't have a back ground as a flight attendant, just a ramp agent. But mine was extremely difficult due to my hearing impairment and find the f2f phone calls with the help of my daughter. The recuriter was very rude ignoring me and my daughter. Did filed a complaint and the reruiter later apologize. I did had a interview and they turned me down... Just try to be postive and upbeat when it come to interview. Good luck with it.

@kscokid About like 4 week is somewhat normal... But...don't give up the hope. The worse part is that: if you ever get turned down and you would like to apply for the SWA job again, you are going have to wait for a year.

@Shover64 I’m not sure when SW will post for FA, so I suggest that you sign up on SWA’s career site to be notified when the posting hits the site. To be notified: https://careers.southwestair.com/jointalentcommunity?applyType=JTC I can tell you have the right attitude going into this long and hard process. Don’t let negative comments on the discussion boards get in the way of your career aspirations. Good luck!

This ended up being a comedy of errors, almost the perfect storm of bad situations. I contacted Chase, they gave me even more bad advice, but eventually I talked to a supervisor at the call center that gave me a solution that, while wasn't perfect, has worked out. Keeping an open mind and allowing the situation to play out was the key. I kept the attitude that if this didn't work out, it wasn't a horrible thing anyway and my life would go on. I killed the, with kindness and things are finally worked out.

I have found that sometimes cell phone settings don't play well with automated phone systems, especially if you are using wifi calling for "VoLTE" or Voice Over LTE that some carriers offer. I am not saying that there is no problem with the phone system; it just might be worth giving it a shot with another phone. Good luck! Land lines, too. Just yesterday I used a land line to call a company. Got the standard "hit 1 for english." I did, and the recording repeated. Hit 1 a second time, and the same thing happened. Hit 1 a third time, and the system disconnected me. Called back with the same phone, and the situation repeated. Called back from a different phone, and hitting 1 worked. Thats why I like the systems that say "press or say 1 for English" (or other option) noting more annoying than repeating an action to get no where

@Bella12 Anyone can take classes at a JC so yes, you can take a Travel & Tourism class. You can always call and speak to the Administration at a JC for more details. Just remember to stay positive, and don’t let anyone’s comments about the struggle to land a job with SWA hinder you. You are the one who will set the tone for your dream job. Good luck to you!

I'm clear if you are still trying to get to PVR or not - I'd keep checking and hopefully if you can get to HOU have your HOU-PVR legs re-instated, but I'm also sure there are limited availability as there may only be a flight or two per day to PVR. If you try another airline let them know the story, maybe they can offer a last minute deal to entice you.

@Vraff, This time, the search for employment are going to be little more difficult. This is a new change of employment with Southwest and the job ladder are becoming a little more difficults for some of us. I would suggest that.... you might wants to keep applying for jobs repeatly until they calls you.

@PSchlette wrote: I'm hoping someone can help. My bag was lost on a flight from Philadelphia to St. Louis on November 28th and so far no luck anyone finding it or turning it in. I know bags get lost, but this is the first time it has happened to me and I'm heartsick. I'm hoping one of the wonderful Southwest people just takes a quick look around for a lonely looking black and grey carry on size wheeled zippered bag with a blue bandana on the handle. It just cannot have disappeared. I'm guessing the tag came off and it's sitting unclaimed somewhere. I'll go to the "central location" I've been told unclaimed bags are sent to, but they won't tell me where that is. I know its a long shot but Southwest is known for its customer service and I have to believe it can be found and returned. It wasn't completely clear, but hopefully you have (or will) fill out a claim form: https://live.nettracer.aero/southwest-paxview/lostandfound/landing.do Make sure you include the description of the blue bandana. I don't know that they are able to go through the luggage necessarily but if there was some particular item inside maybe describe that too, or perhaps you are heartsick of the piece of luggage itself. I wasn't clear from your description if this was a carry-on that you did check, or that it was lost onboard. Southwest uses a contractor called Aero Services, they have a claim center in Scottsboro, AL. I don't believe that is open to the public however, although I've seen a phone number for them. This is separate from the unclaimed baggage outlet store, also in Scottsboro, AL although I supposed the items will end up there if unclaimed after a set time period.

@Chadly wrote: I wanted to clarify the routing.... MKE to STL (Change plane) STL to OKC then OKC to LAS. Kind of a round a bout way but....... Sounds fine to me! 1) If you did miss the connection for some reason, there will be other routes from STL to LAS that don't go through OKC. 2) If you do catch the flight but end up with a middle seat, you'll be allowed to re-seat yourself after the local passengers deboard at OKC, and the STL to OKC leg should be a quick flight. 3) There's no change fee, so if you go online and find a more direct route or a route with longer layovers you are free to change although you must pay the current fare price which may be higher (or lower). In particular for these quick layovers there are often two connecting options that use the same MKE-STL leg, and then have varying layover in STL to go to LAS - you could choose one that was longer if it suited you better when you booked.

I know the posting is old. I vividly years ago, I recalled the flight attendant who works with American Airlines always announced anyone who is disability and they let them go in first. Someone in my family told them that I am deaf and I happened to get there first, and always sit on the assigned seat. It is very nice. These employee at American Airlines are the most polite peoples.

I don't know about the curbside service, I don't believe I have seen someone from SWA comes out to help peoples with needs at curbside. But, A few weeks after discharged from the hospital while on vacation out of state, I had a blood clot both D.V.T. and P.E. and I was cleared by the doctor for me to go home on airplane. My daughter took me to the airport and she helped me with one of two luggage and I had a walking cane for a temporary times, due to my blood clot. The worse part is: TSA. after going through the screening process and by the time when I turned around and to my dismay, one of the passenger whom I don't know looked down at me accusing me for faking disability. Long walk to gate wasn't easy by myself and ran out of breath, gave my writing note to let the boarding agent that I requires a front row seating that gave me enough room for my leg, not the disability for being deaf. They let me sit on front. By the time when my plane landed at MDW, another long walk to baggage waiting area and my brother picked me up. What do I think? It is the same as usual.

The baggage agent should be able to check your bags through to your destination, regardless of confirmation numbers. (Note that if you do have a single confirmation number this won't be an issue at all -- you'll even be able to use the kiosk to self-check your bags.) This does require additional effort on the agent's part, and I've learned that, following the system conversion, some agents know how to do this and are willing to assist without issue, and some others unfortunately are not. If you are polite, patient, and persistent you hopefully won't have a problem. Please do come back and let us know how it goes!

@rachellake - I understand your frustration! I have had this happen with SW before as well, and it caused me to change how I travel to certain frequent business destinations. With that said, I have also experienced the opposity: a destination that only had one-stop routes became non-stop. Jackpot! SW ( and other airliens) change their routes based on many factors. Unfortunately, there may not be one specific answer in this case. If you would like to discuss the matter further with SW, I recommend reaching out to them directly here.
