@Shellbell_76377 Southwest employees should have a "Southwest" icon next to their name, see @NicoleAshley for example. I can't speak for others but I am a frequent poster so you may see my name repeatedly too. I am definitely not employed by Southwest, I'm here for a host of reasons, to include to try to help others.

Just as an aside. The flight crew usually are the ones who clean the seats and I'm sure dog hair would be a concern. However, they could be better in manners. I had a few older attendants lately that were as rude as United.

MDW and ORD are both susceptible to bad weather in slightly differing ways. MDW could be limited on flights with poor visibility or condition related to the short runways. If it becomes clear that only a reduced percentage of flights can come through then it would be a partial cancel like you observed, as opposed to a big blizzard that gets all the flights stopped.

@jfharris86 wrote: Yea looks like im joining the bandwagon on this one. Woke up on the 7/22/19 and had an email telling me changes were made to my Southwest account. Roughly 120,000 points gone and used on the rapids rewards shopping page. I'm assuming for gift cards or something like that. I called not even 3 hours after the points were used and was told they couldn't cancel it. Whoever hacked my account went as far as changing my email address and security questions. I'm assuming he changed the email address so the e-gift cards would go to him. First I was told it would take 10 to 30 days to look into, just called back today and was told, sorry they are very busy, it could take 30 to 60 days and no update on if I'd get my points back. She basically said lets see what the team discovers and then we can talk about that. Very frustrating situation. On the plus I did learn that you can call and put a security word on the account to make it harder for people to hack your account, would have been nice to see this advertised while signing up for the account. I'm like 3 or 4 flights from A List Preferred and got the companion pass back in May. I love Southwest but 2 months to investigate fraud, no wonder no one gets caught. Unfortunately, Southwest's account security is somewhat lax by industry standards -- no two-factor authentication, no address/name checking on 3rd party purchase access, ease of changing personal info. So it represents an easy target for hackers. The best thing you can do to protect yourself is have a strong password. And (apparently, as it isn't published) add a security word to telephone access on your account, for what that's worth. The good news is that generally, once Southwest verifies that the points were used by an unauthorized person, they refund them to your account. This process can unfortunately take some time.

Sterling talent solutions told me my background check was completed July 31st. I did my f2f interview July 17th and did my drug test the next day. I just checked my dashboard and the part time ramp position in Phoenix, AZ isn't showing anymore. I got the contingent offer of employment letter the day of my f2f interview. Is it bad if the position is no longer on my dashboard? And when should I hear back from southwest about a training date and if I passed my background. (I don't have any criminal charges just a few speeding tickets)

Few people appreciate the severity of the peanut dust allergy. On our last trip we have been met with a condescending tone when the peanut dust allergy is mentioned. I myself don't have the allergy, but I am the one who has to help manage it when my wife has a reaction, it can be scary.

I wish that this was more acceptable. As a person who uses a cochlear implant, it's near impossible to lipread on flights. When I fly alone, I'm always on edge because I have to be aware every second because if I'm not, I might miss something. I do wish that SW had their safety briefing on their app as a video. I flew United a few months ago and was so relieved to see that they provided the safety briefing, captioned, at the beginning of every flight. Now, they have screens on the back of each seat, but even if it this was added to SW's main in flight page, it would be so appreciated!

I have a similar problem but without the error message, SW is useless. Within the 24 hour restriction, using either the SW app (most current version) or going to the SW web site on my iphone (current ios), I cannot check-in but get a error message which says ths reservation is not eligible for check-in. But if I go to the hotel's pc and goto the SW web site I can check-in with no problem. But by then I have a poor boarding position.

When they announced the preboard - sometimes the passenger needs to raise their hand, wheel up front or do something so they know they need to take care of you. They almost always annouce that more than once.

Fear of flying was a challenge for me for a long time. One suggestion may be to sit next to a dead heading crew member so that all of the noises and movement can be explained to you as they occur. There are certain things that seem wired that are just normal operations during a flight. Noises like the lifting and locking of the landing gear, movement of flaps and engine noise changes are just part of the mechanical actions of the plane. The landing approach often starts a long way from the airport in major cities. If you sit next to a pro you can ask questions and better understand the dynamics of the flight. Another nice thing is to open the SW site on your WiFi device and watch your flights progress in real time. That feature is free on board. Also, focus on where you are headed, not how you are getting there. By the way the views are great. Have fun!

I have had the same problem on SW and other airlines. I have learned that if I wait a bit the system works, I think the small band width to the ground link is limited and can only handle a few connections at a time. I have been flying so long that I remember when airphones (yes we talked to people on the ground on those things) could only connect one caller on the plane at a time.

We’ve always counted on the BDL-Las nonstop as a backup for my wife and I to get to Reno with one stop. We fly 7 times per year and we are now having to fly via United (yuk) btw I can never recall a partially full flight leaving Hartford? There is no longer the DEN or MDW option I hate to give up my A- list preferred status

My point was not to bash the company you are looking to be hired into. If you truly feel as if you were not given a fair opportunity, go about it the right way and research who to contact next. Dont post on a discussion board about the recruiter. If you really are someone who believes SWA is a great Company, you need to trust that the right thing will be done. I do applaud you for being honest and saying that you were confused to the recruiter. That takes strength and courage. Good of luck to you, and I hope the outcome is positive for you.

If you wish to kick me out of SWA board. Please feel free do it at any time. I found your previous comment to provide nothing of value or help to the discussion. You basically said "look it up," and "don't bother." If you really do wish to provide help to others here, I would suggest you please consider posting constructive comments.

Thank you so much for the insight! The length of time is alarming..but I also know that the position is highly competitive and receives thousands of applicants. I am hopeful that they just havent gotten to my application yet and that they reached their cap for last year. I will, however, reach out to the email address you gave and let you know the response, if I can. Thanks again!

@mcalhoun I am so sorry to hear about your bad experience with the customer service. I have the number at 1 (800) 435-9792 and see if you can talk to someone about problem that you had. For some apparently reasons, the agents may not have time to deal with the customers and you also can call 1-855-234-4654 and see if they can resolve the issues. Hope this will helps.

@DfDrPepper_23 wrote: @cecical I know the feeling is broken, I thought Houston is one of the largest city in Texas. I really don't get it. Because of the big city means more services and reliable routes. Makes sense? It isn't an issue with Houston, I understood Southwest to be stopping all service to MEX so whatever the issues are fall on that that end. The HOU route may have been a strong one, but if the other cities paried with MEX weren't performing it might not make sense to keep serving the MEX airport from only HOU.

@DfDrPepper_23 wrote: @askmom3 I am sorry to hear about your experience, I thought of the prices that goes up and down and I had something in my mind about something has to do with the stock market. Don't get me all wrong, but, if I suppose the seats has increasing becoming available and the SWA might wants to decrease the "Wanna get away" price down. I don't know how the systems work and I firmly believe that price change has something to do with the stock market. While I know all we can do is guess what causes an airline ticket price to decrease and increase I don't think the pricing has anything to do with the stock market because it's closed on the weekends and holidays as well as after 5pm weekdays and ticket prices change when the market is closed. There are some other reasons I don't think the stock market has to do with it but I won't get in to that since I'm not an expert on that. I think its all supply and demand with some other factors. I do think it would be cool to see how that system is run.
