@TheMiddleSeat I agree, but can only hope something else comes down the line. Honestly, the 25k they gave me did afford me the luxury to achieve a companion pass for the entire 2021 year. Thank you SWA. But on the side of those who didn't, (since I still also took 7-8 flights during COVID) maybe SWA didn't expect COVID to go on quite as long as it did since this was "unprecedented" in terms of anything we have experienced. As I've learned on here, the best avenue to get this across to SWA @gid730 to get directly to your question, that doesn't' seem reasonable of the year to year from the first date of use, but as I was getting to, maybe contacting customer relations is a better avenue for that request. @Passenger1C Agree, there have been multiple threads like this on here, even since the COVID situation. I would hope the SWA does it's best to make sure any FA that might have had employment interrupted because of COVID gets first priority of bringing them back to work.

I think NY is a tougher sell now with the new strain of COVID that has been reported in that city, (2 cases) and they are going to be more cautious. But good suggestions are that you are already in self-quarantine while there. And then fly back you have minimized your risk (and others) and quick tests are becoming available.

I agree. The reason you're not 42,000 points away is the 25k SWA gave you. And at this point, the 17K would be difficult without flying. You have 4 days to go somewhere on a Business Select flight that might get you close, but other than that. I think you waited way too late to address this.

I must be lost? I've used points to book my son and daughter-in-law tickets to Hawaii? I think the only thing I paid was like a processing fee, 5 dollars or something, much like what I pay when I do my companion pass. Am I mistaken?

Everybody's lives matter, not just a select population. So I'm just wondering why there is still much opposition to wearing a mask. Yes, they are uncomfortable, Yes, they do make you have a bit of difficulty breathing, and I hate them as much as anyone. The opposition I keep hearing is why can't lawmakers trust the public to make adult decisions about their own lives. Well, the DEATH of a person on an AIRLINE flight was left to do just that. You don't DIE on a flight without knowing before you go on that you have an illness, even COVID doesn't work that fast. And I hear, I'm not going to let somebody take away my freedom as an American the right to choose, I'm not going to be told what to do by the government. LOL, show me anyone of those people who say that who LOVES paying taxes. Unless you haven't figured that out, your federal, state, and county government is making you do something you don't want to do. (I'm not going to get into laws, how many of us want to just drive as fast as want to get there, but we can't govt. tells us and makes sure we don't, we are told we can't surpass this limit without a PENALTY) I'm just saying, it's about controlling the virus, not YOU. Thanks for allowing my rant. I care about all of you and will wear a mask, wash my hands, and continue to avoid getting close to you out of respect for you, not because I've been TOLD to do it.

@dfwskier On your behalf, yes I would say, "a calendar year" could be read as from starting point to the starting point, but in this case, it is not. It's from Jan 1, 2020, to Dec 31, 2020. So, very simply, any points you earn during those dates, THAT ARE POSTED, prior to Dec 31, will count toward CP. Note, just because you might do something over the next 8 days that are countable towards your CP, if they aren't posted, they won't be included. An example of that is a rental car I'm getting next week. Although rental starts and ends in 2020, I won't see those 600 points posted until around FEB 2021. Those points will go towards a 2021 CP. So unless you have credit card points yet to be posted, as far as this year, you're done.

@dfwskier Good catch, I thought this was familiar. And I'm sure the response will still be the same. @PetertheProphet Good try to reinvent the wheel. But as I hoped I might have posted previously, EVEN IF, all you stated was close to being true, it's never been said that wearing a mask would prevent and eliminate the virus and its spread. It's been all about slowing the spread, which is what EVIDENCE does show, in about 50 medical articles, that it does help. And again, washing hands and staying 6 feet or more away from people, and staying away from large gatherings, was AND STILL IS, about slowing and controlling the spread. I could go on, but I'm sure you will repost again in a month, so I will pick it up then. I just ask, try and add some new material on your next post.

with the rise in COVID cases, I'd say just about anywhere not in Cali. As mentioned Hawaii is a great option since they are doing about the best in the U.S. in infection rates. And it's hard to beat going to the Islands. just know the highest two-week rolling rates of COVID are the worse in Texas, Cali, and Florida according to CDC today.

Also, if you haven't done any hotel stays for points, you also always have an opportunity to boost points by another 1-3 thousand. So it's a good route, just gonna take you some work. I just looked at a round trip flight and seen that even with business select, (and 590 bucks) I would only get around 7K points. But could also get another 4k for the hotel points. That's 11k and around 950 bucks before I add in my meals and rental car. Oh also, don't bank on points from rental cars as you won't get them by the Dec 31 date. And the hotel is hit and miss. I've gotten the points in 7 days, and also had to wait 5 weeks.

Good **bleep** for tats on here. But honestly, it takes about 2 min, if that, do the check in. Since I've never done the EBCI, (Alister for over 10 years) I really can't say. I'm Alist and still do the check-in as close to the 24 hours scheduled time of departure. Maybe shoot for A list and then you can get on board early and save a seat for whoever flying with you as I do.

I agree with the middleseat it's going to be a tough one without flying to reach those points along with other things. I've gone the hotel route doing staycations when I'm down about 5-6K, not 45. And as also mentioned, the credit card for everything you do...but going to be a tall order. I wish you the best. For your credit card, your billing date really can't be pasted the 26/27th of the month, as they may not post points until after Jan 1.

Blake, now I'm scratching my head. I guess I can't say that SWA knows everything about when other departments do what, but to end a sale during maintenance doesn't sound like best practices to me. Book today and did see a price increase that makes me frown.

Matt, good post, you got me thinking. I'm about to retire and will be considering something to keep me from going stir crazy. Could be a good opportunity. I wish they had a work "barter/bid system," where you could underbid somebody and work cheaper to get hired. I love SWA so much, I'd almost work for free.

@dfwskier I know you follow me, but maybe not back far enough, which is another frustration for another day. For one, I don't have a phone, (nor want one) that even gets or has apps. I don't/want to subscribe to twitter, or even do anything internet on my phone. Yes, it's that old, it's about 12 years old and is a slide phone. I had about 8-10 flights I was looking at and didn't want to go through that whole process on the phone, and honestly, didn't even think about that. I didn't know you could report it through facebook, but now I do. Thanks for caring.

On Tuesday (12.1.20) I saw several good prices on some flights so I waited until tonight (12.3.20) the last day of the Flight SALE to go in and try and book some of them. For over 2 hours I wasn't able to sign in and kept getting this message; "We are currently unable to complete your request. Please try again later." Did anyone else experience this? I'm just wondering if it was just me or not, but regardless, now I'm out of getting the sale prices for the flights. It's now an hour after the sale closes and I still get the message. Frustrating, to say the least, but it's still 2020. Going to bite the bullet and pay the higher prices.

Maybe somebody can help me with this. I heard out of the side of my ear something about, President-Elect Biden, stating there will be something like mandatory mask wearing for 100 days. Can anyone add anything to this? It's not a Biden thing, it's a, I'm glad it might be true thing regardless of who came up with the idea.
