Unfortunately for you in this coming year the opportunity to obtain a Companion Pass has sailed without you.
I completed my Companion Pass requirements in November this year, which is about average for me. (Early in the year I had doubts I would make it, but I focused on making the required 125,000 points, following the rules set out by SWA.)
BTW, If you did not feel comfortable in airports in 2021, I am unclear what will change in 2022 to alleviate this concern? The travel situation is basically the same or even worse now?
That being said I would recommend starting January 2022 by reading up on how to maximize gathering the points required to get the CP for 2023. Work the system and keep looking forward.
Best of luck and safe travels.

I understand your frustration, but SWA is very clear about the 3 types of tickets you can buy, if you buy the cheapest fare, "Wanna Get Away" it is non-refundable and non transferable. (They do not hid this.)
Refundable fare tickets, "Anytime" and "Business Select," are exactly that, refundable in the method you purchased them so if you used a combination of travel funds refunded from a "Wanna Get Away" cancelled trip plus cash the travel funds still revert to you and are non-transferable and any cash is yours to do with as you choose.

Make the changes if your objective is to see a friend, everything else is just static along the way.
If I understand correctly you'll end up with 3 flights instead of 2, that ultimately is a benefit for A list status anyway

Best to contact SWA customer service directly and get documentation on their feedback and guidance. If you go to the airport and without very specific documentation from the airline(plus your waiver) in advance I would bet you have 50% chance on being denied boarding, Best of luck

yes if the closing date on your CC statement is in January that is when the "points" will post to your RR account.

Make sure you aren't checking bags. I always find it a bit wonky when I fly standby on SWA, I'll get my confirmation of change but always seem to get called to the desk at the gate just prior to boarding, "to make sure I'm there?"

If you donate to charity maybe make donations via the card before the December closing date? Win for you, and a Win for your charity

Also If memory serves, you pay for the upgrade at the gate and Chase credits your account on the next monthly statement.

It is disappointing to hear that you were lied to, but I would recommend a couple of things moving forward: Always I mean always fly direct. When this is not possible make sure connecting flights are thru SW hubs, I don't believe St Louis is a SW hub. If connecting be sure to fly early in the day too. Why? when there are delays and yes there will be delays if you are at hub you will have options. I pay extra to fly direct sometimes, and when I can't fly direct I will pay more to connect thru a "busier" SWA serviced airport. Less Stress less headaches etc...

to add on, anytime you book late or change flights on short notice (after the boarding positions have been assigned), you can board after the "A's" and before the "family" boarding.

Sorry to hear about this, were you signed into a rapid rewards account when you made the purchase? That would yield a "trail" of the transaction and provide documentation. For myself, I would never consider connecting any 3rd party App to my bank account, especially Apple Pay, nor would I ever consider using a debt card in connection with a bank account. Always I mean always use a credit card for purchases of this type. The cc charges are reversible if there is a glitch and you insulate your cash! Best of luck!

Have the initial boarders head to the rear of the plane and situate themselves so you all can be together, since you are all "B's" you should have no problem.

I would say no, unless you have actual chronic disabilities, but that's just my opinion. I would recommend you purchase a business select ticket so you can board from the 1st 15 positions.

I feel your pain, I registered myself, purchased and completed the required flights per the requirements, and have received no communication from SWA. My current companion pass still shows expiring on 12/31/2021. (I should make the the 125,000 point plateau by mid December,) but it pretty disappointing to receive no notification or acknowledgement that I completed the promotion and will have the ability to book my companion as advertised. (I have multiple flights booked in the 1st 2 months of 2022 and and simple acknowledgement or a response on social media to my posts would have been nice and professional. Still optimistic but disappointed in the lack of communication.

I sorry to hear about your experience, but depending on what other passengers "heard about the cause of delays" is like believing gossip, just not very productive or practical. Best of luck to you, (I for one won't be disappointed not to hear your 22 month old child wailing about being separated from his/her parents and forced to sit alone.)

I understand your concerns, but your explanation here seems vague, timeline wise. I would recommend the following: Contact SWA customer service directly with exact and specific information, names of those ticketed, confirmation #'s, exact date of original purchase, type of fare you purchased, exact date you cancelled the flights, copies of of supporting emails, have your credit card statements with the original purchase transaction info as well. Ask them for specifics in relation to the specific documentation you have. This will narrow the window of where your refund went to a matter of days in 2020. Best of luck

Seems like you have received the "answer" from SWA and that is wait 4 weeks. Just incase I hope you documented who and when you spoke with the SWA rep, personally I have found that helps if there is ever a dispute about the information exchanged to have a name and the date and time of the conversation. Best of luck and welcome to the A-List.

As a regular SWA flier I can understand the frustration of those who pay for early bird access only to be leap frogged by some folks who may be "gaming the system." I can honestly say I have overheard conversations about "getting on the plane 1st" and personally observed the healing powers of a SWA flight on more than a few pre boarders. I take it all with a grain of sand and even laugh with my wife about the lengths some folks will go to. It's not worth getting mad about. Nothing would be gained by confrontation since, as many have noted not all afflictions are visible. I usually enjoy seeing where my place in line will be and who's in front of me, since I take that as an indicator of A list seniority. Just last week I got A-16 on both my flights. A good rule of thumb is do the right thing yourself and let the rest go, life is too short.

I would recommend you pay for your rental in almost every case, (also sign up for the particular rental company's frequent renter program and designate your car rental "points" be funneled to your RR account, usually 600 points, unless you rent enough that you want the status perks from the rental car company you patronize.) I personally don't rent enough cars to see the return on investment to do that. I find I am able to always get a cheaper rental rate directly from the car rental company, even with the pandemic car rental shortage. Using RR points for flights yields the highest value for me personally, best of luck.

Echoing others comments SWA did not steal from you. I encourage you to read the terms and conditions you agree to when you purchase items. SWA is very transparent about non-refundable flights at the time of purchase. They also list the time frame to use your credit when you cancel a reservation. SWA is much less punitive than other airlines once you cancel a non-refundable ticket. Best of luck to you in the future and please read the not so small print when you make purchases.

I hope you spoke to onsite SWA staff at your destination and at a minimum have your baggage claim tickets# and the names of the SWA personnel you spoke with. I would also recommend sending this information along with details on your firearm and ammunition in email directly to Southwest and cc the TSA. Firearms stolen or floating around in limbo is Serious business and from a liability perspective you want all bases covered. Hope you recover your property soon!

I am sorry to hear that you won't be traveling but I have to echo the comments of others about buying non-refundable tickets. For better or worse you took the risk, (gambled) that your plans would not change and now they have. All airlines are struggling through this pandemic, they won't likely "profit" from holding your credit for 0 to 12 months because they have to accrue for the use of the credit until the completion of the 12th month. Best of luck
